Well, if Ananda Ramayan was shown unadulterated, you'd have Rama being shown as asking Lakshman to cut off Sita's hand and bring it to him, and Lakshman having Vishwakarma creating a hand resembling Sita's, and bringing it to him. As it is, the exile is controversial - you think this would have gone off well?😳
Problem here is that the major vernacular versions - Kamban, Tulsidas, don't have Uttarkand in them (I think Krittivas does, but I'm not sure whether that's just lifted from Valmiki, or has his own version in it), so when it comes to consulting the second tier sources, one only has things like Adhyatma, Padma Puran, Bhavabhuti and then these versions like Ananda and Adhbhooth and so on.
