Yep, Vibs is an awesome host 😊- looks like the standards for Khalrika just went up whenever she hits the milestone.😆😆 Khalrika, just kidding😆😆

Ananya, thanks. Of course these are Lakshman's kids, so I finally find an avatar that matches my nom de guerre. Not too many knew that Chandraketu was one of Lakshman's kids, so I had a Lakshman/Urmila avatar all these days. For those who've seen this, Chandraketu is one of the kids.

Incidentally, any idea who was the older between Chandraketu/Angad and Taksha/Pushkal? In case of Rama & Shatrughan's kids, the answer is obvious, since Kush de facto 'succeeded' Rama and his lineage is what is known to have inherited Ayodhya, while Subahu succeeded Shatrughan in Mathura itself. But does Valmiki always mention their kids in sequence of their age, or is it random?

Had a problem with internet connection, its set right now.
The names of sons of B-L-S are always mentioned in sequence as Taksha-Pushkal; Angad-Chandraketu; Subahu-Shatrughati respectively ; Even in 7-103 n 104 the kingdoms for Taksha is first established ,then its for Pushkal, same goes to Angad n CK.
and standards goin up ,just imagine what we've to do when we become dazzlers ...😲😉😆

Thanks for this info. Although, is it 103-104, or 101-102? 101 is Bharat's kids being installed in Gandhara, and 102 is Lakshman's kids getting installed in Karupadhadesh (incidentally, where is this? I read in Dr RC Majumdar's Vedic age that this land was in the foothills of the Himalayas - does that mean their kingdom was in today's Nepal?)

One asymmetry I found between Bharat's & Lakshman's sons installations is that Bharat stayed in Gandhara for 5 years and alone helped his sons establish their rule before returning to Ayodhya. However, once Karupadhadesh was conquered by Rama, Lakshman, Angad and Chandraketu, Lakshman spent one year helping Angad establish himself at Angadvad (the city named after him), while Bharat stayed with Chandraketu and helped him set up his. Is that what you have in 7:102? The thing that struck me was Lakshman not doing this for both his sons, the way Bharat did.

P.S. Having gorged on this, we have a weight problem. Maybe we should go on upas when we become dazzlers😆

Angad is crowned in Angadava 7-102-8 Chandraketu is crowned at Chandrkanta ,which is at the foothills of Himalaya (?) 7-102-9 Lakshman returns from immediately after crowning Angad n setting up he city ( after a year) b'coz he is unable to be away from Rama anymore.🤔 7-102-10 Thats why Bharat takes care of Ck's crowning 🤔 and Upvas? 😲 when we become dazzlers?! 😭 thats one thing I can't do lolz ...😭😆 We've to work really very hard to reach there , we don't need an upvas ;-)

Thanks. So in my av, the kid on their left (our right) is Chandraketu, since the open mouthed kid in the fg is the one who asked why Rama hadn't eaten, and therefore likely was the older one - Angad?

This is the closest I can get to Sherlock😆😆😆

P.S. We'll then need a rakshash restaurant. 😆😆😆Probably use Praphulla-ji's Rovers in the city supposedly named after Lakshman - Lucknow. Incidentally, is there anything in the Ramayan that supports the claim that Lakshman founded Lucknow❓

Isn't Gandhari in Mahabharat from the kingdom of Gandhara? So does that mean that her family was descended from Bharat and Mandavi, and incidentally related to the Raghuvansh?

She is from the Kingdom of Gandhara. However, according to the Vedic Age history book that I read, the kingdoms of Bharat's and Shatrughan's kids didn't last beyond a few generations, and nothing is known of the fate of the kingdoms of Angad, Luv and Chandraketu. So if you were wondering whether Gandhari & Shakuni were descendents of Bharat, the answer is no!

I would very much like a faithful adaptation of the Valmiki text with no embellishments at all.

I have always wanted an adaptation of the Jain versions of the Ramayan. There really is no reason to ignore Jain mythology when it comes to mythological serials.

One thing that would be awesome is to have a show called "Many Ramayanas" which would cover as many versions as possible, including Buddhist, Adbhuta, Thai, Indonesian, etc. This would be more of a combination of documentary and anthology type show where each version of the story would be shown over a single or a small group of episodes (as necessary) plus minor variations would be discussed by the narrator and/or scholars appearing on the show.

I can dream can't I? 😉
