India has become dependent of fossil fuels in Leh Bus service .. we have launched our first hydrogen fuel cell bus service in Leh, Ladakh, with NTPC providing five buses, a refuelling station, and a captive solar plant to produce green hydrogen for the project.
The buses are expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and generate pure oxygen, comparable to planting thousands of trees annually.
The buses are designed to operate on high-altitude roads, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and produce pure oxygen, symbolizing India's commitment to sustainable development and the nation's vision for a Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
The initiative involves the Leh administration and is being implemented by NTPC, with buses supplied by Ashok Leyland
NTPC has built a captive solar plant to generate green hydrogen and a dedicated refuelling station for the buses
