I have another question. Once Shatrughan became the ruler of Mathura, wouldn't that have made Sumitra the rajmata of Mathura? In which case, anybody know whether she got to stay with him or not?

Tomorrow, the Lavanasura episodes resume, so we can now continue discussing the Ramayan, particularly the Lavanasura related events. One question - when Shatrughan returned to Ayodhya after 12 years, did he stop at Valmiki's this time as well? And did K-L sing to him the Ramayan while he was Valmiki's guest?

I think yes, bcoz thats where Shatrughna hears Ramkatha being sung for the first time and is mesmerised. I guess all the kids / many kids in the ashram sing it and K-L are also part of the group. Shatrughna does not recognize K-L as Rama's sons then. I hope I have the right info. here.

I too thought Ripudaman was just another name meaning the same "Killer of enemies". Infact, in the old Ramayan, Dashrath once addressed Shatrughna as Ripudaman. I think the scene was when they are making arrangements to go to Mithila for Sita-Rama wedding.
Anybody knowing the story of Ripu? Please.......

It's good that the episodes are back on track. Now we can have some healthy Ramayan related episodes.👏

Hey Ananya and Chen, I agree with you. It is so good to see Ramji back again. I don't care if Lavanasur has beads on his hair. As long as the story is back on track, that is all that matters. Finally, some good discussions can be had instead of posting silly gimmicky things to keep this forum going.

What a relief! I am so glad we are out of the nightmarish Luv-Kush episodes. I hope the Sagars will stick to Ramayan till the end and finish this serial with diginity.

Today's episode was reminiscent of the Bal-kand and Aranya-kand episodes, when first Mareech/Subahu and later Khar/Dushan's rakshashas would disrupt rishi yagnas. Today's shot of Lavanasura personally assaulting the rishis was a pre-cap that they had shown when Lavanasura, at the behest of Karkatiti, decided to start persecuting rishis. Flashbacks of the older days, except that this time, Rama and Lakshman don't have to do anything - it's Shatrughan's moment of glory.👏

But one thing I didn't get was the rishis being hostile to Rama and attacking him for these assaults happening within his kingdom. They weren't - Lavanasura was doing all that within his own territory, and Rishi Chyavan went to Rama to ask him to intervene, which Rama had no problems doing. I agree w/ what Rama did, but it's inaccurate to imply that what Lavanasura was doing was persecuting rishis in Ayodhya, when he was only doing that to rishis in Madhupura.🤔

Also, in the pre-cap, they show Rama asking Shatrughan to stop at Valmiki's ashram, and Sita freezing on hearing that Shatrughan was on his way there. As far as the original goes, this was accurate, since Shatrughan was the one who played the father's role in the naming ceremony of K-L, but I wonder what the purpose is of showing him stopping at Valmiki's now, given that that role is no longer there. Also, why would Sita be shocked 😲- is it the expectation that nobody from her family should have any idea as to where she was? 🤔 Besides, in the original, she did meet Shatrughan at the ashram when he visited.

This part of the story - I don't like the twist.👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Exit question: once Shatrughan became the ruler of Mathura, who would have been the guru to his sons? Rishi Chyavan?
