Silapathikaram is one of the Five great epics in Tamil Literature. But am not sure if it finds places in Sangam texts..
I think some of the sangam texts are Tholkaappiam, Patthupaattu, Ettu thogai nool etc. Do not know the complete list though.
I think Manimekhalai is a different story, though ehr parents were Kovalan & Madhavi in Silapathikaram.
And thats my 100th post. oohoooooo😛
I think Silakathikaaram is a part of the Sangam Literature. There Sangam Literature was divided into first, second and third Sangam periods.
Silapathikaaram is one of the 5 great epics in Tamil. Manimekalai is another epic (one of the great 5) but not included in Silapathikaaram. Manimekalai is the story of Kovalan's daughter born of Madhavi.
Tholkaapiyam is the most ancient of all Tamil books. In English, (according to wikipedia) the sets of books in Tamil are known as,
Aimperumkaapiyangal - The Five Great Epics (There is another set of the Five Smaller Epics too)
Ettuthogai - The Eight Anthologies - These eight books are anthologies of poems
Pathupaatu - The 10 Idylls - Mainly all the Aatrupadai type of books are gathered into this section.
Pathinenkeelkanaku - The Major Eighteen Anthology Series - again a set of anthologies of poems (I think this set is of the third Sangam period)
The Five Great Epics: (I am giving the nearest Tamil pronunciation)
Silapadhikaaram - The story of Kovalan and Kannagi and the destruction of Madhurai
Manimekalai - The story of Manimekalai, the daughter of Kovalan and Maadhavi - this story speaks of the Buddhist principles and how Manimekalai grew up in the Buddist Monastry and her adventures.
Seevaha Sindhaamani - The story of Seevahan, a prince who had escaped the fate of his father (he was killed by his brother) and then later came back to defeat his uncle and take over the kingdom. He travels a lot and marries 8 women from different kingdoms and then takes Sanyaas in the end and reaches heaven. I think this is the story)

One more information - I don't think Kambaramayanam forms a part of the Sangam Literature - Kamban's work was probably recent according to those who classified the Tamil literature.
I hope this information helps.
