Friends, here is another interesting story regarding Radha Krishna love towards each other. --

(Prem Ras Madir)

Radha-Krishna's love for each other is very interesting. Both want to give pleasure to the other. So that is why the fight arises. when the two are standing in front of a Jhula and one says ‘first you’ and the other says ‘no, first you’. So a fight arised. So what is the fight in this Jhulan leela.---

The gopis, they made all kinds of arrangements, they decorated the Jhula on the bank of the Yamuna by a tree and they decorated it very nicely and once the arrangements were completed they invited Radha and Krishna to come there. So Radha Krishna reached there but then Radha thought that Shri Krishna gets pleasure in serving me so She said that today I will sit on the Jhula (swing) and Shyamsundar will push me. At the same moment Shri Krishna thought that Radha gets pleasure in my service so let me give Her my service today. So He said, today I will sit on the swing and Radha will push. So now the fight started.

Radha and Krishna, the both, were not willing to concede. So all the arrangements that had been made, the whole Leela stopped there. The gopis were trying to convince them to agree to the other person but neither of them is agreeing. Krishna is saying that 'I will sit on the swing and Radha will swing me' and Radha is saying,' no I will sit on the swing and Krishna will swing me'. So this fight has arisen for the sake of the happiness of the other.

There is an internal secret to it – the fights in the world are the cause of sorrow and misery and those fights in Golok have got Divine Ras, Divine Bliss in them, which is experienced in that fight – fighting for seva, so the things that we see in this world, anger, greed, envy – these defects which we see in worldly personalities; these defects exist even in Golok, they also have anger, they also have greed but the difference is that the defects in them are Divine. They are not for their own happiness. They are for the sake of Shri Krishna’s seva.

So those defects have got divine ras in them – Divine bliss. But the difference is internal. In the world, these defects are due to Maya and in Golok these defects and due to Yogmaya. So in the world, these defects result in unlimited sorrow and misery. And in Golok these same actions result in unlimited divine bliss. So the area of the two is different although the activity is the same.

So here this fight was going on for the sake of each other’s happiness and the gopis were trying to convince both but neither Radha nor Shri Krishna was listening. Then finally when there was no solution in sight then the gopis asked both of them, to sit on the swing and they'll push the swing – there is no need to fight. For that solution, Radha Krishna both laughed and they sat on the swing for having a blissful moment.

A beautiful description of Shri Radhe --

The love of the gopīs for Kṛṣṇa is full of transcendental ecstasy. It appears to be a brilliant jewel, and enlightened by such a transcendental jewel, Rādhārāṇī’s body is further perfumed and decorated with kuṅkuma. In the morning Her body is bathed in the nectar of compassion, in the afternoon in the nectar of youth, and in the evening in the nectar of luster itself. In this way the bathing is performed, and Her body becomes as brilliant as the cintāmaṇi jewel. She is dressed in various kinds of silken garments, one of which is Her natural shyness. “Her beauty is more and more enhanced, being decorated with the red kuṅkuma of beauty itself and the blackish musk of conjugal love. Thus Her body is decorated with different colors. Her ornaments embody the natural symptoms of ecstasy—trembling, tears, jubilation, stunning, perspiration, faltering of the voice, bodily redness, madness and dullness. In this way Her entire body is bedecked with these nine different jewels. Over and above this, the beauty of Her body is enhanced by Her transcendental qualities, which constitute the flower garland hanging on Her body. The ecstasy of love for Kṛṣṇa is known as dhīrā and adhīrā, sober and restless. Such ecstasy constitutes the covering of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī’s body, and it is adorned by camphor. Her transcendental anger toward Kṛṣṇa is embodied as the arrangement of the hair on Her head, and the tilaka of Her great fortune shines on Her beautiful forehead. Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī’s earrings are the holy names of Kṛṣṇa, as well as the hearing of His name and fame. Her lips are always reddish due to the betel nut of ecstatic affection for Kṛṣṇa. The black ointment around Her eyes is Her tricky behavior with Kṛṣṇa brought about by love. Her joking with Kṛṣṇa and gentle smiling constitute the camphor with which She is perfumed... How kanha came to wear peacock feathers on his turban --------

When one day Krishna woke first from a rest in the forest with his cowherd friends, he decided to wake everyone and call the cows grazing at a distance by playing his flute. When Krishna blew the nectar of his lips into the flute, a melodious raga with a slow rhythm and a deep base emerged from its end. This wonderful vibration enchanted the peacocks in and around the Govardhan hills. Their hearts began to sing in happiness and fill the skies with their own song. The resonant vibrations from the flute encouraged the peacocks to dance. Krishna, who is the source of all dramatic arts, was pleased with their dance and encouraged them by his kind glances and sweet smiling. They cried with joy and it sounded all over the hills. In time, their sounds became indistinguishable from the echoes. They became excited and jumped up and down, flapping their wings. As the peacocks danced, the kings of peacocks made his way to the lotus feet of SriKrishna, touches His lotus feet and makes a sound which Krishna understands as a thanking note and requesting Him to dance with them. Krishna accepts to dance and moves amidst them, dancing like the peacocks. The bliss of the peacocks increased multifold when SriKrishna danced with them. It was so overwhelming, that some peacocks fainted. The flute in Krishna's hand seeing the uncommon performance of its master began to sing on its own. The spectacle was extremely splendid when seen from the top of the Govardhan hills, the heaven. They danced for a long time and slowly the tired peacocks stopped dancing. Then Krishna danced to the rhythm of His own steps. After many days, when he stopped dancing, there was an enchanting silence. The king of the peacocks approached Krishna with great humility, bowed down his head and said, "You have created a festival of bliss for which we remain eternally indebted to You. It is our duty to offer you 'Gurudakshina'. I request You to accept our only opulence, our plumage. Wear them on your crown as a decoration." With large tears of ecstasy, the king of peacocks dropped many divine feathers. Krishna lovingly accepted the offering of the peacocks and placed them on his turban..

Boat pastime at Mansi Ganga

Srimati Radharani and gopis came to the bank of Mansi Ganga and wanted to take a Boat across. Mansi Ganges used to be a large lake, but has got smaller over the years. They were carrying their yogurt pots and other milk preparations . unfortunately only one old boat was available and the boatman was just a young boy dressed in a large cloak with a peacock feather on his head. He agreed and they then bargained for a while over the price. They settled that the price would be some sweets and butter. He rowed for a while and then just stopped. Radha Rani and gopis asked him why he has stopped on this he replied he was tired and was hungry and could not go any further if they didnt feed him some butter. In an angry mood the gopis refused but later they agreed. The boatman ate almost everything. He then told them that he need to take a nap and they have to massage his arms and legs. Gopis told him that if he did not keep rowing they would throw him overboard. He then started rowing but stopped again after sometime. Pointing to the floor of the boat he told gopis that his old boat was filling up with water and slowly sinking due to heavy weight.

The boatman add that unless you throw all your heavy pots overboard, the boat would surely sink. Shocked to hear these words of boatman they out of fear threw all their pots filled with yogurt and butter immediately into the water. The boatman said that the boat was still to heavy and he couldn't row and now they should throw all their jewellery away . Gopis reluctantly threw all their jewelleries into the water. The boatman again said the boat is still heavy you should take off your clothing and throw if into the water. Infuriated at this latest suggestion, gopis angrily informed the boatman that they would throw him into the water and this would certainly solve the weight problem. Hearing this the boatman again started rowing but before he could make further the storm appeared over the lake and the dark clouds covered the sky and a strong wind started to blow and the waves became agitated .

The boatman could see that the Radha Rani and the gopis were looking very frightened fearing that they all might drown. In order to allay their fears the boatman started to rock his boat forth and back to show it's sturdiness. At that moment terrified that she might fall into water Radharani leapt forward and thrust her arms around the boatman for safety. As soon as she put her arms around the boatman, she realized that he was none other than his beloved Krishna in disguise . Suddenly the clouds cleared, wind died down, waves became calm and the moon suddenly appeared in the the evening sky. When all the cowherd girls saw Radha Rani embracing the boatman they enquired about her behavior . In answer to their inquiry Radharani immediately pulled out the flute from under his cloak. All gopis then realized that he was none other than the transcendental prankster Sri Krishna. Krishna then took Radharani and gopis on a wonderful boat ride around all the different islands in the Mansi Ganga...

This is an off topic post -- I wanted to share these lyrics and most imp the last two lines ..

Shiv shakti se hi purn hai

Shakti ke woh sindur hain

Gauri ke Gaurav ke Liye

Jo Ho Rahe Abb Dur hain

Koyi thod na hai ab chah ka

Nahi mol hai maan ke moh ka

Shiv Jaane kya hai Kaali Ka

Astitva Aadi Shakti ka

Vichalith kare na bhavna

Nahi de sake koi santwana

Niyati hai bandhan se pare

Jo rach diya so woh kare

This is such a true and a debatable statement as well :)

Jo bhagwan ne rach diya usse woh bhi nahin badal sakte par ek true devotee mein itni shakti kai ki bhagwan uss rachna ka taap kum kar sakte hain ya uske sath khade rehte hain taki woh bhi taap sah sake :)

Shri Radhe's beauty described by the Lord himself :)

Her beautiful form is given in Ujjvala-nîlamani, wherein Sri Krsna says, "O Radhe! The locks of Your hair curl beautifully, and You have a lotus-like face with elongated restless eyes. Your chest is adorned with lovely large and firm breasts. Your waist is attractively slender, Your head is bowed slightly in modesty, and Your fingernails are like rows of jewels. Your beautiful form is a festival of elegance and sweetness that crushes the vanity of the three worlds."

Concerning Her sixteen items of beautification, Subala says to Sri Krsna, "After bathing, Sri Radhika decorates the tip of Her nose with an effulgent jewel. She dresses in blue clothing, with a sash (nivibandhana) around Her waist. Her hair is plaited and She wears ornaments on Her ears. Her limbs are smeared with camphor, musk and sandal paste. She wears flowers in Her hair and a garland around Her neck. In Her hand She playfully carries a lotus flower. In Her mouth She has tambula, and on Her chin a dot of musk. She wears kajjala around Her eyes and on Her cheeks are muskpaintings of dolphins, etc. The bottoms of Her lotus feet are painted red and She wears tilaka on Her forehead."

Concerning Her twelve ornaments, Subala says, "Sri Radhika wears a diamond on Her head, golden earrings on Her ears, and tiny golden bells around Her hips. A golden locket hangs around Her neck. She wears a cakri-salaka (an elaborate ornament that encircles the entire ear and fastens at the top) over Her ears, bangles on Her hands, and a necklace around Her throat. There are rings on Her fingers and a group of star-like necklaces on Her bosom. She is adorned with jeweled armlets, jeweled ankle bells and radiant toe rings. She is very beautiful wearing these twelve ornaments."

According to our puranas, Shri Krishna’s flute is the symbol of freedom (Pranava). This is the flute which enchanted devoted Gopis, maidens of Vrindavan, to see their beloved playing the melodious note on the bank of the sacred river Yamuna. Divine sound of this flute thrilled all heart with rapturous joy and immense delight. All the maidens of vraja neither had shame nor fear and were totally intoxicated to the divine music of lordly melodious tone. This love of the maidens towards Krishna was a divine love, union of two souls and similar to merging of Jivatma Soul to supreme soul. These gopis were the sages of forest dandka who desired to embrace Lord Rama. Since Rama was Maryada Purushottam, he was not able to fulfill their wishes and promised satisfaction in his next birth .

The power of creation is expressed through his flute. His melodious music from the flute represents the act of creation. His standing on the big right toe signifies the Upanishad verse: "Ekam Eva Adwitiyam Brahma” which literally means “One without a second". While standing, lord shows three curves which represent the three gunas which form the base of the creation. He stares at Shri Radha to put this universe in motion and the lotus on which he stands represent the entire universe.

--------------------------------------------------------------

After Lord Sri Krishna left this world, Maharaj Yudhishthira, unable to bear the separation from the Lord, also decided to leave the world. Before leaving, he coroneted Maharaj Parikshit as the emperor of the world, and the great grandson of Lord Sri Krishna, Vajranabh, as the king of Mathura.

Vajranabh was requested by the great devotees to restore the glories of Vrindavan. So Vajranabh decided to excavate those holy places of Vraja bhumi in which Lord Sri Krishna had performed His Lila, and to install beautiful and sacred deities in principal places of Vraja Dham. He sat on the banks of Yamuna under a Kalpavriksha (desire tree) and prayed to Sri Sri Radha and Krishna. By the auspicious mercy of that Kalpavriksha tree, Radha and Krishna’s mercy entered his heart and revealed to him the holy places of Sri Krishna’s Lila. Later when he decided to install Deities, he called Vishwakarma, the architect of the demigods. The three principal Deities carved by him were Radha Madanmohana, Radha Govinda and Radha Gopinath.

Mother Uttara who had seen Krishna directly was present at that time. When she saw the beautiful form of Radha Madanmohana, she explained that the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna’s feet are most perfectly revealed in this Deity. When she saw the beautiful form of Radha Govinda, she explained that the chest and the flute of the Lord are most perfectly revealed in this Deity. And when she saw the divine form of Sri Radha Gopinath, she explained that the beautiful smiling face of Sri Krishna is most perfectly revealed in this Deity.
