Jr NTR extra cautious after lukewarm response of Devara and War 2; asks Prashanth Neel to rework on Dragon

After RRR, Jr NTR’s career was catapulted to a new level. Every film of his was discussed as hot property. While Devara did do good numbers at the box office, critics were not impressed with the movie. Also, it was not a historical hit for the Temper star. Then came War 2, which got a lukewarm response at the box office. It fared badly in the Telugu states. Naga Vamsi who purchased the theatrical rights said they trusted Aditya Chopra, who is one of the biggest producers in India. Then, he said that such risks are a part of film business.

It seems Jr NTR has now halted the work on Dragon. The big budget movie from Hombale Films is being directed by Prashanth Neel. He has told Prashanth Neel to rework on the script. It seems that while he does not dislike what has been filmed so far, he feels Prashanth Neel can do it even better. Neel is known as one of the best action movie directors in India with an excellent track record.

“NTR wants Dragon to succeed at any cost. He is willing to go that extra mile to ensure it turns out just right. NTR doesn’t dislike what Prashant has shot so far. But he feels it can be better. He wants the content to be better than what it is right now. They may even re-shoot some of what has already been filmed.”

Many felt that Jr NTR was not presented well in War 2 by Ayan Mukerji. Dragon is also going to be a Pan-India movie. Rukmini Vasanth whom cinema lovers saw in the blockbuster Kantara: Chapter One is going to be the leading lady. Jr NTR played the role of Vikram in War 2. Many felt the movie lacked the soul of the original film, and the script was extremely mediocre.
