Be prepared for a long essay soup!😉Unres...Very interesting topic...I so loved Rehan. From the start.I loved his calm reassuring smile, his steadfastness. He's the kind of guy friend I would have cherished in real life, if not married him myself, match made him to the the best nicest girl and wished him the best his whole life..." I don't want much in life, I want an honest, decent living, filled with family and happiness..."His one statement melted me and made me his fan. Lovely character.Eversince Sanam arrived at the Ibrahim mansion, he watched as Aahil and her locked horns and fought. He gave her moral support in each of the ridiculous tasks Aahil gave her, helped her in little ways (without interfering and making things worse), and even cheered when she eventually emerged victorious and taught Aahil a lesson. In the times when Sanam was waxing lyrical about how horrid Aahil was, Rehan would be the calming person. Telling her not to hate, but see the other side of things, Aahil is not as bad as she thought, he might've been the one to inadvertently make Sanam see the good side of Aahil. When he couldn't stop Aahil from bullying her (he did try to talk Aahil out of it) he tried to help her instead. That lovely conversation on the garden in the moonlight when they spoke of things that made them happy. That was when he saw Sanam. The girl with the simple wishes, who dreamt of a happy life with her family. He saw himself fit in that dream. Better still he wanted to give it to her, to make her wishes and dreams come true.I cannot explain how bittersweet it felt to see him yearn for family and a comfortable house filled with love. The vulnerability I saw in his character brought out my protective side. Then he started trying to make life better for Sanam. He untied his hands and started defending her from the bullies in the house: Nida, Begum Sahiba, Khala Khalu. That one monologue he had, where he expressed anger at the people in the house "Who do these people think they are anyway? How dare they do this to a person who hasn't harmed anyone! How dare they think they can get away with bullying Sanam! I must take her away from here immediately !!""But how?"That was when marriage appeared as an option. In his haste in wanting to protect her from her tormentors and to make her dreams come true, he jumped from a crush to aspiring suitor. He saw a way out for him too.SO he went to see Badi Ammi, and Dilshaad saw the honest gentleman in him, I must admit, I teared up along with Dilshaad. He was so incredibly sweet to ask for her permission first, because he knew how important Badi Ammi was to Sanam.Armed with her approval, he bought a ring. Even tried respectfully to inform his Ammi first, meeting her disapproval, stood his ground and went ahead. But he didn't know his Ammi would mess up his life so badly, by using monetary aid to trap Sanam into marrying Aahil. He was angry, quite angry, to the extent of telling off Aahil. He stuck around because he sensed Sanam so very unhappy, and felt her being swallowed up by her tormentors. But he slowly saw that she was coping well, despite her forced marriage, seeing the good in Aahil and willing to try and make it work. Then he realized she was able to fend for herself, and didn't need his help. And Aahil started behaving possessively toward her, and it became clear. Aahil and Sanam loved each other. So he left. But Soup, although for Sanam, I really wanted someone like Rehan. But the dynamics of the relationship is a bit intricate.Sanam took care of Aahil, helps him through his issues. But it was Rehan who helped Sanam with her issues, her anger and misunderstanding with Aahil; her search for her parents' truth, was her pillar of support in rough times. But who cared for Rehan?Seher. She cared when he went hungry. She listened to his angst and misery about his mother. She listened to his loneliness and gave him company. She showed him little acts of kindness that people do to make others happy. She was a dose of happiness and whimsy his life lacked. What Seher gave Rehan, was what he wanted. Someone to call his own, who cared about him as much as he did them. Giving and taking. And when he saw it, he grabbed it quickly.Who can forget their first love? That new feeling of shyness and sweetness, untouchable joy.But would you give up who you ended up with now, (happy or not😆) for that memory?I believe Rehan ended up with the one who suited him better, as did Sanam.I am still feeling over sensitive to talk about Shaad. He is making a selfish mistake right now.But I wouldn't condemn him from finding the one whom is better suited with him later. Someone who isn't someone else's wife.they didn't develop his character enough for a fair comparison Soup.Neither is he a good son to his Father, or a great Nephew to his adoring Phupho.Only a Son who misses his Ammi a lot.
