however, im glad i made the topic because i got lot of new information and opinions from more knowledgeable people across the world. i read up the rules regarding the dress for namaz and it isnt stated anywhere specifically that jeans are not allowed. but still most people consider it inappropriate to say prayers in jeans. however, im sure the most important thing is to offer the prayer with a pure heart. most people have to wear jeans to college and work and they would be missing their prayers if they had to change so its better to pray in whatever you are wearing so long as it covers you properly.

however what hurt me most was the bashing of islam i saw by some people on this post. i never intended this outcome. the bashers have been given fitting replies by you admirable guys and i applaud you for that. 👏
this post was my first on QH forum and im sorry if anyone was offended by it coz i never meant to criticize islam, i was only criticizing qh makers.

so, peace here please, my name is Ayesha, btw, i've been a silent reader for a few months and love this forum 😊</font>

]ayesha, everybdy has their own opinion!!! im in favour wd u!!! we cnt make all people to agree!! so quitting it here!!! i p.med u bt it was unreachable to u..!! 😊

Religion again...Lovely.

When will the people of this forum understand that a tv show does not take it upon itself to represent a religion. Everytime there is an outrage over something new...well no not new, always something related to Zoya's clothing. I remember last time there was a very long and painful debate about Zoya's skirt which just made most people in this forum seem like...nevermind. I wish I could say next time anyone has a bloody thought about Zoya's clothes keep it to yourself...but I can't even do that because this is a public forum and you can say whatever you want. Well so can I though.
Anyways, I doubt anyone lives their life by every single thing that is written in their religious book. So take a chill pill. Besides, just because a holy book says you can't do something does not mean people wont do it and neither does it mean you can't do it. People will do whatever they want and they will call themselves whatever they want...hindu, muslim, christian, jew. If truly we were to only call those people christians who abide by the bible, and those muslims who abide by quran (etc etc) then there would not be many religious people left in this world. Hey, which would suit me just fine.

I have to ask though...are her clothes really so offensive that people get so angry so quickly about her damn clothes. And why is there never so much debate about clothing and religion on any other forum. In IPK, they showed a live in relationship...yet no outrage there. Sure they didn't approve it, but still it wasn't going all into religion this and religion that. Not everything has to do with religion. Some things are about what makes us feel comfortable, happy.

Very well said, agree with you completely. This forum is saturated with religious discussions. People should realize that not every Muslim follows quran word by word just as every Hindu or Christian doesn't follow Bhagvadgita or Bible word by word and not every thing that doesn't match with religious code of conduct should be blown way out of proportion and made into an issue.

1) Stoning a woman to death because of adultery - Adultery in itself is gem isn't it? We should go around advertising it shouldn't we? And plus, you don't know, but a woman has to admit herself that she committed adultery with about 4 witnesses! That's when it's actually decided she's sinned and hence she's supposed to get stoned to death. Same applies to men.

2) Forcing women to wear hijab - I can assure you once I started my hijab I was treated with utmost respect everywhere! INCULDING UK! Islam advises women to wear hijab because it will not draw male attention to their body. It lessen the lustful thoughts men will have about you. It's protecting the women! That, believe it or not, IS gem!

4) Allowing men to have four wives - ONLY if he can treat them ALL equally! The reasoning provided by our Prophet PBUH was despite all the female baby abortions, there's still a higher ratio of women to men in the world. If this wasn't allowed, that would leave three times more women free in the world to do what they want. This would promote adultery for men, it would lead women to have sex before marriage. but bear in mind that the man can ONLY marry another woman IF his first wife agrees.

5) Needing four muslim men to witness - It's four witnesses! Not necessarily muslim men. And rape is a VERY sensitive issue which I haven't looked into so I really can't say much. If you're asing this on the Sharia Law of Muslim countries.. then you have no right to point fingers at ISslam because those countries have got many things wrong most of the time anyway! They change the laws subtly to suit THEM not to Islam. But I'd also just like to point out if the man says he didn't do it, he COULD be saying the truth. If the woman said he did, she COULD be lying too. So will you condemn an innocent man to death without knowing the whole truth? Asad and Tanveer example is right in front of you! Women like Tanveer DO exist in the world. They would do anything for power!

6) Threatening women - NO WAY are men allowed to mistreat women! Give me ONE ayah in the Quran, please! In fact, women status was SO low before the Prophet PBUH came into the world. The status that women have to day is because ISLAM gave women rights to own properties! ISLAM gave women a right to say no. ISLAM gave women rights that enabled them to stand up for themselves and not be treated like dogs or wh**es as they previously were if not from a rich family. So please do not even go into that!

7) Men divorcing women without mutual consent - I don't know much about that. But the Man obviously must have a good reason eg if she committed adultery. And the woman is allowed to divorce men as well without mutual consent in probably the same scenario. Islam does NOT force you stay with someone who tortures you! People do! Society does so don't blame Islam for people's small minds!

8)Allowing Men to control their social and biological rights - Examples please!

So basically, I don't know about other religions, but Islam is perfect for me. So you want to be an atheist, sure, go ahead that's your right. But critisizing other religions, and pointing out what you call 'faults' without doing research is NOT your right!

And the only reason people are getting offended by your comments is because you're targeting ISLAM not people! Furthermore, QH is supposed to be based on ISLAM so it should show something about ISLAM which it does.. but also goofs up..ie she was praying fajr once the sun had already risen apparently. Hence people get irked and give their opinions. But even so.. pointing at Islam because of that.. cheap shot.

You have given me replies but I don't find them very relevant. According to you men have good reason for everything. Let me tell you a straight fact that very few women actually go shouting "rape" if they are not actually raped in real life. On the contrary, a lot of women don't get justice because of the so called Sharia rape Law as its almost impossible to have 4 witnesses of rape.

As far as controlling women's social and biological rights is concerned isn't forcing women to wear hijab controlling their right to freely dress. If one wears a Hijab out of free will that's fine however if a woman is forced to do so its a complete violation of human rights. Also I have no problem if a husband has 4 wives but a wife should also have the same freedom to have 4 husbands.

Lastly, I don't disrespect Allah or God who is non judgemental , only misogynistic aspects of all religions be it Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism or Sikhism. Other than that I do not deny that Islam has some positive teachings as well especially those of Sufi Saints.

Oh have I? because I was of the opinion I was proving that Women have equal status as men..!

You disagree by seeing Sharia that's under 'Islamic' law. If you want to know Islam.. read the Quran translation.. read the stories of the prophet and you'll see what real Islam is.. not the Laws created by 'Muslim' countries that 'follow Islam'! What 'sheikhs' do in Saudi Arabia is sometimes atrocious! They buy kidnapped girls as sexual slaves and say it's under Islam. Islam does NOT allow that! How can you judge Islam based on it's followers? as someone before said.. Islam is perfect.. but humans aren't. we make mistakes.

And women aren't forced to wear hijab. They're advised to for their well being.. when they're comfortable enough to do so. Force comes under country laws and culture. So again.. you're judging Islam based on the followers.. not the religion.

I've already explained the four wives concept. I don't intend to indulge in it again.

Sorry but do not agree with any of your justifications for different codes of conduct for men and women . Nothing justifies the different guidelines for both sexes and like I said religion needs to reform with time otherwise it becomes regressive. The sex ratio now is the opposite of what it was when Quran was written . Now there are more males than females. So the four wives thingie needs to be abolished even if its a part of a religious book as it is no more valid in the current scenario. Also now DNA evidence is available so 4 witness logic doesn't hold ground anymore so yeah that needs reform too.

I beg to differ. With wars going on and life expectancy increasing in some countries but decreasing drastically in others, there are more females than males. Maybe during birth it's equal, or the opposite way round in case of India and China (Due to female fetocide).. but if you take a look at the population pyramids of countries, more women live longer than men and there are more women in adolescent years (and above) than men. I did Geography where we looked at population pyramids in 2010 of various countries and noticed this trend. The teacher pointed this one out herself.

As for the Rape thing.. I mentioned before I haven't researched that case since it's sensitive and I tend to question thing like that a lot. But I will do so one day so thanks for bringing it up.

L O L WOW. You just make me laugh. You just don't even want to read the good answers given to your pathetic ideas and continue with your "ideas". Alll your questions have been answered very nicely so i don't know why you still find them irrelevant...

Also.. you talking about rape.. UHM. If you are raped you go telll the police you are raped. There is NOTHING written in the ISLAM which says you have to shutup if you are raped. Just because different Conturies do that and say its in "Islam" it isnt alright. Just because you do not have 4 witnesses does not mean a girl/boy can't go complain. Islam is about justice not about oppression.

Also, a Hijab is NEVER allowed to be forced upon. You can't say just because a person wears a Hijab she is better than a person who doesn't wear it. So people who force other people to wear a Hijab.. thats peoples thinking not in Islam. So saying that forcing people to be wearing Hijabs is in Islam is incorrect.

And the 4 wives thing.. LOL wow. You amaze me! do you not understand what you read? You are literallly just denying whats being written and don't even feel like accepting the truth. The details given by another memeber is correct and if you still wannan argue on that.. I don't got no time to be arguing over something thats right in front of you.

Islam is Perfect :) Muslims are Not. The sooner you understand that, the better your thinking will be.

Sweetheart you need to get your facts right its 2013 not 2010 and the current world human sex ratio figures show that there are more males than females
