That is if the collective curiosity of the forum has mellowed out following the SBS khulasa and the food for thought or should I say food for jumping, hopping, skipping into, headlong conclusions, interpretations and gossips😊

I am away for a couple of week from the forum and my my , the return has me baffled, what with a plethora of spoilers and subsequent heated discussions😃

From the time Tanveer made an entry, my feathers were ruffled.. and then I was agitated, because it had become a thorn on my back side...Why? Because, a confident, scheming woman who chose a profession that accomplished the dirty deeds of the wealthy for money was reduced to much like a abala naari...I truly believe, evil or not, my nation needs women who have the balls to make their life choices themselves. We will deal with passing judgement on right and wrong later.

Few quips from people with far more darkened souls than hers, and it has her running to take cover under the shelter of a powerful surname. So, what's the point one is making here? That no matter who you are and what you do, if you are a woman, a man is your sanctuary. Belonging to a man is the only way out for a woman to respectability.

More so, even with the fertile imagination and manipulative mind like Tanveer's, she has to resort to use her sexuality as a woman to get her way.. I mean get to that medal of honor : Respectability ...

Hmm.. I just finished reading APJ Kalam's 'India 2020'. And then I find popular daily soaps peddling regressive mind sets and still capture the attention of youth. I know its entertainment, still I rue the fact that, even entertainment which is scripted, resorts to such stone age theories to sell itself. And even, worse, people buy it!!!!!!!!!!!😡

Well said dear, even scripted fictions are selling these kind of believes that to using a woman like billumbut i guess the profession she's doing is nowhere going to get her the respect she's after but marrying Asad will definitely give her that desired respect.

Why thank you dear. Please accept my gratitude fr your response. However, its not about how many likes my post gets and just how many pages this thread manages.

It's about what our minds are fed and we accept in the name of entertainment. An example,

Earlier, B wood movies had, a gangster's moll, who's only purpose was to wear revealing outfits and probably shimmy to a cabaret number.. That was exclusive and suited that era. Slowly and steadily, it became an accepted norm so much so that a Helen was branded and will be remembered only as a cabaret dancer than the actor she was.

Cut to today, a main stream, successful actress like Katrina will do a Chikni Chameli or a Priyanka will do a Babli badmaash and that's lapped up in the name of entertainment and totally acceptable today. It's the norm and we see nothing wrong in it. ...from entertainment with eye balls grabbing capacity today unfortunately it's about actually grabbing audience by the balls and not of the eye kind. And a greater section of the society interprets it as : Educated or not, Successful or not Woman are sex toys. They can be objectified. They serve entertainment purposes. Oh and not only can one screw them, you can have some of your gross DNA even run around the streets. Now, that completes a woman's definition.

It's said art imitates life and vice versa.. so if your staple diet of TV tells you that woman can employ sexuality as a devious method to gain what you want, what does that tell you about a woman? NOT that woman, A woman.

Forget about the right and wrong, forget about whether that makes you a good person or a bad person. We can be judgmental later... But as a woman, I find it insulting and disrespectful.

When men rape, its because their insecurities are so shallow and their ego's so big they need to assert their superiority. But it's unthinkable that a woman can rape a man. Just because we can't think that up doesn't mean it can't happen. So when a woman actually does it, its not any different than a man rapist.

It transcends the war between man vs woman. They simply cease to be even human beings.

Every debate doesn't have to be about man vs woman...and I am no pink chaddi supporter either. I'm simply against the collective shit, stereotypes, biases that our prime time entertainment dishes out.

I'll sum up your post for you - w as viewers are hypocrites. We talk about being modern day women yet we sit and watch, encourage and cheer on regressive tv shows that believe that a woman is nothing without a man.

Writers and audience thrive on making the woman the damsel in distress. How else will she fall in love if she is no rescued by a dashing man?

Your post is fantastic - whether the character being portrayed is a villain or not there is an express need link all their lives around a man. Tanveer, Zoya, humeira, Razia and Dilshaad have all fought and bled for men, because clearly they have nothing else going on in their lives.

Freedom of choice for a woman is a myth. Just on this forum we have seen some highly regressive ideas on what a woman should or should not do. Its a mentality issue and the writers of tv shows and movies don't do anything to broaden or better it. They feed off this mentality so why should they!
