👏You are the only one who stuck to the rule...and err...the only other one who commented.
Now I know why!

Every one is busy marrying Asad off!😆

Chalo...thanks 4 the reply.

Yes..the jhumke line was what I had in mind..and the whole premise of the movie! A girl who was repeatedly rejected by a man who loved her!

That line from Rock star- simply pierces through the heart!

That was a movie that made me sit up and watch after a long time! Amazingly done! Beautifully acted too.

Yes, I am so tired of posts about Asad and Zoya or Asad and Tanveer. Going bonkers reading about it since 2-3 days. And damn these SBS/SBB spoilers. They make our lives more miserable 😆 Did you watch today's segment? Apparently one of them had the reporter saying that "ab aayega twist aur Asad and Zoya ka rishta toot jayega." Now we'll have more posts speculating and conclusions will be reached that Oh no! This definitely points towards Asad marrying Tanveer 😆

Oh and I loved Rockstar. Ranbir was brilliant 👏

Dunno...

It seems to be all about lust or physical features and attraction for those features.

One loves a person for who they are inside.

Which is why I have a tough time understanding Indian soaps...'love' is shown as physical attraction...many times against one's 'mind', as in QH.

Sure, love can develop from physical attraction (actually not all that often); but for that the two people must like each other, their ways, thoughts, beliefs, values, outlooks, perspectives, etc.

Physical attraction fades rather fast after...er...'dori opening'...a.k.a consummation.😆

In this case, Mr. Khan is dead-set against Ms. Farouqui and yet feels a physical attraction to her.

This attraction is depicted as 'transcendental love' by the PH by showcasing backdrops of religious institutions (a divinely nod); and various other rather unbelievable mechanisms to show how this physical attraction is not lust but love.

I, for one, don't really buy it.
It is, however, rather interesting to see all the phangurlz who do buy such a kind of 'love'.

Tamil is thanks to Ankie...😉

Tamil- I understand it quite a bit! And love it a lot...I think has the most amazing lyrics and music than any other language I know!😊 And another one of tose beautiful sounding languages- I mean the poetic Tamil.

Watched Iruvar- first day first show- had gone 4 minsaarakanavu, this one was released the last minute...poetic Tamil- totally went OTH, but loved it...😆

Hope kiddo is better!

Jayne,
you have not understood Asad if you think it is a mere physical attraction...it is a cosmic connection. He has never concentrated on one part of her or even lusted after her...it is her innocence that pulls her to him. If you see only physical attraction here, you have missed out o the beauty of QH-BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT LOOKED...or because you have refused to look since you have mentally categorised it as phan gurlism...and below you, probably.

This post was not intended to be on sensuality..I am actually shocked you found that aspect here...not offended...

The point of the post was " mere jhumke..."- as Asad was staring at her jhumke.😊

Hmmm...

Never thought about it like that. It is not her physical needs, I thought. The girl in the song and the movie was also chided by her lover- considered immature and spoilt...as Zoya is by Asad...she merely says she will surprise him with her obedience...not in the bed necessarily...😆...that bit was probably lost in translation...or rather conceived in translation...

The other bit of her adorning herself- a woman's slow sexual awakening...again, I thought it was supposed to depict her innocence!

I better update this. Thank you so much for yur reply. An entirely new thought!😊

That cosmic connection part is what I mention as that which is show-cased by the PH with backdrops of religious institutions or sufi-type music...not to mention sudden gusts of wind, etc.
In reality, such things do not occur.
If not for that, what we are left with is eye-locks and sudden trip-and-fall-and-catch.
That may work for leads who have a greater chemistry *cough*IPKKD*cough*, but while SJ and KSG have some chemistry, it is not of that level.

I have certainly looked and having observed a lot of my friends fall for this kind of 'love' and then repent hugely later, I am not convinced by the portrayal here.

I really don't see what 'innocence' is there in her.
Naivete, sure.
And from what I can understand, it is more of a headache for him, coz that usually lands her in trouble and he has to either extricate her from the situation or cover for her since he feels responsible for her as she is residing under his roof.
He takes his responsibilities rather seriously.

Other than this attraction - irresistible, as depicted, or not - he really does not like her- as a person - at all.
And this feeling is mutual. She does not really like him either.

In that case, other than 'fatalistic' showcasing, there is really no love here.
This kind of attraction fades rather fast (but for that sufi-music and religious nod in the background keeping it going).
Then one is left with what the person really is...someone one never liked at all.
(BTW, I did not buy the 'love' in IPKKND, either... reality intrudes rather too soon...and things that were 'cute' or 'aww' when physical attraction was there, turn into huge issues later.)

As for the post, and the song lyrics translated, if you notice, they are all on the physical aspects.
Not one describes the person to be loved for what they are - kind, taciturn, generous, self-sufficient, compassionate, courageous, ambitious, quiet, loud, bold, timid...etc..whatever characteristics work.

The 'Jhoumkay' part...sure...the song is rather fitting for the scene, I am sure...
