Yup he does pull back in response to her comment about returning. But did he do so merely from shock or because he realized the futility in expecting too much from someone who is meant to go away?!

I felt the same way.. He wanted to show her and let her know that just becuz some things in life don't work out doesn't mean that all things won't...

I dont think the intentional distancing and withdrawal will happen from Asad this time - think he will actively pursue her and try to stop her...which will then explain the spoiler article about Tanveer trying to kill her. If Asad distances himself and does nothing to stop Zoya, why would Tanveer try to kill her? She will simply let her leave for NY.

I agree with you! The exact same thought popped into my mind when I watched the precap. He didn't want their story to be incomplete, so he reached out to her. But when she said she wants to go back, maybe he felt that she may not feel for him the way he feels for her, so he moved his hand back, pained and heartbroken </3

Asad looked heartbroken and my heart broke for him. After overcoming his own fears of abandonment he decides to give someone a chance and fate plays her cruel trick again.

I don't think he is going to be cold towards her not when her entire life and belief system has been shattered. If anything we are now going to see him actively find ways to get her to stay. As bheegi said in her thread (Don't cry for me, Zoe) I think Asad is going to find out that he was misled and gets her to stay because at this point that's the only thing that could get Zoe too. Still doesn't explain how they circumvent the visa issue.

Well put Anjali. 👏 Simple and straight! Regardless of what the other meanings in his gestures were, I fully agree that he, at the least, meant to let her know exactly what you said: "that just becuz some things in life don't work out doesn't mean that all things won't.."

Wohoo! One more person who thinks so. I'm not happy because my initial post is getting support but because the idea is just so romantic, even if it is wishful thinking! 😆

I exactly thought that! Damn you pulled the words right outta my mouth girll!!! I totally agree! Especially in today's episode when Zoya just breaks at the end ...and Asad is thinking and hesitating on whether he should hold her or not! But in the end he does exactly because the battle he's having between his heart and mind ...his mind lost and heart took over! Even in the precap ...His heart was winning...nowadays ...he's stopped thinking and instead feeling! He was totally going for his gut instincts ...but then as soon as she mentioned that she should just go back to New York ...his hand moved back ...obviously it hurt him but he feels like what's the point if she's leaving ...but when he clearly thinks about it and when she's about to leave...his heart will again win and he'll hopefully stop her if not then he will end up going to New York to get her back because if Zoya leaves ...his heart will leave with her! *aww moment* xD Plus Asad knows ...no matter how hard he tries on not using his heart...and using his brain instead...he knows deep inside that he still needs that heart ...he's human. Any man capable of feeling hurt is human, that means he can love as well. Or at least he once loved. The only person who can fix that little hole in his heart...is Zoya! He knows that...yet he's in that denial mode ...but slowly he's learning to just accept the fact that Zoya may be a misfit ...but She is the PERFECT MISFIT for him!
