Meanwhile, Zoya was trying to think of Ian Somerhalder as a power-puff girl.
Razia as POTATO.
LOLL that had me rolling. 🤣
Ian would still look delicioso in such a getup. That man is too hot for anything, really!

"Ghost stories?!" Asad yelled in frustration. His mother was officially demented.
"Ammi, those didn't work on me even when I was five years old!" Asad said raking his hands through his hair.
Dilshad glared at her at her son, her eyes as wide as saucers.
Asad squirmed.
Like the actual 'DAMN, shouldn't have said that' squirm.
Zoya thought to herself, "I gotta get Phoophi to teach me how to glare at him like that!"
Dilshad said, "Asad, I don't care if you're not interested. I'd rather have you sit here and have to put up with my ghost stories than you sitting with your wife!"
"MY WIFE?!" Asad yelled, his voice incredulous.
Zoya's breath quickened.
So she was right.
Phoophi had unconsciously let it slip that she was considering Tanveer as a possible wife for Asad. Zoya felt so silly and love sick. Why wouldn't anyone think of Tanveer like that? She was perfect wife material. Zoya's heart clenched when she hazily remembered when Asad had told her that she was bad for his family and that no one would marry a girl like her.
"YES. Your wife. Your jeevansaathi. Your jaan. Your stupid mobile phone!" Dilshad said in continuity.
Zoya unconsciously let out the breath she was holding. Damn, she needed to stop associating Tanveer with everything.
Think of the Devil, and she speaks.
"Actually, I agree with Asad." said Tanveer. She looked at him with a small smile.
'And there's only one thing which happens after that smile'' Zoya thought.
TRING TRING TRING TRING TRING!
YES, WE HAVE A WINNER!
*EYE-SEX*, ladies and gentlemen.
Asad and Tanveer looked positively lost in each other's eyes and Zoya was fuming.
"Ammi, I'm not attached to my phone, okay?" Asad said with a sigh.
'So Mr.Khan can look at the rest of the female population!' thought Zoya.
"Tanveer, you were saying?" said Dilshad ignoring Asad entirely.
"I said that I agree with Asad. Ghost stories are too childish. Let's do something more productive!" said Tanveer.
Asad gave her a look of pure adoration and Dilshad, one of incredulity.
Zoya snorted loudly. She thought. "SURE, cause she knows all about productive!"
Zoya was actually half afraid that Tanveer would make them harness their inner chi right now! What if she suggested that they do the crossword or knit or something?!
Thankfully, Phoophi stepped into the picture.
"Tanveer, you're all young. So for once, live a little. Don't be a prude. It's not like any of you have suggested any other fun activities! So ghost stories it is!"
Dilshad surveyed the room after her announcement. Zoya looked a little sad, Asad looked bored, Tanveer looked hesitant and Najma looked ecstatic.
"OKAY! So let's start!" said Dilshad.
Dilshad and Najma sat on the sofa and Asad and Tanveer moved to the couch and sat together in a creepily intimate manner. Zoya was livid.
She had nowhere to sit!
She muttered, "I'll go get a chair and come, Phoophi."
"Zoya, beta! Just sit with Tanveer and Asad!" said Phoophi, fluffing up her pillow.
Zoya snorted again. Like she would ever do that to herself.
It was against the "Lover's Code" to sit in between two people who were eye-sexing. It totally was.
And considering Zoya might have just made up the Lover's Code, she didn't want to break the rules.
One look at Tanveer and Asad's faces and she knew that she wasn't particularly welcome on the couch.
"No Phoophi, I'll just-"she started.
"WAIT, you can say the first story! That way you can stand and talk! Najma will say the next story, so you can take her seat!" Dilshad was satisfied with her quick thinking.
"Really? I'm first?!" said Zoya in excitement.
Secretly, Zoya Farooqui loved ghost stories. Her theatrical emotions made her a flawless story teller. She could make people piss in their pants with her random bouts of howling and screaming during ghost stories.
OH, she was so ready for this! She was sick and tired of being sad, of being heartbroken. She wanted to have some fun tonight! And Phoophi and Najma, she didn't know if they knew that she had a thing for Mr.Khan.
But they were being so nice to her by trying to cheer her up. She had to do this for them.
"NO! PLEASE don't make her say a ghost story!" Asad shouted in frustration.
Zoya whirled around to face him. His hand was clutching his forehead in pure agony.
Like some global catastrophe would occur if she said a ghost story.
"PLEASE, Mr.Khan! I know how to say a good story okay? So don't keep going back to that Highway 13 incident! That was one bad time!" Zoya justified.
Tanveer, Najma and Phoophi didn't understand what Zoya was referring to. They were confused by the sudden argument.
"Miss. Farooqui. I don't care about that stupid Highway 13 trip. So stop talking about it." Asad said, icily.
"I don't want to listen to you say a story. Your voice annoys me." He said.
Dilshad glared at him and Asad ignored her.
Zoya thought to herself, "He's PMSing or something! There's no other explanation as to why he's so frigid towards me. Wait, I forgot that he hates me. But hey, I have a nice voice! Don't I?"
Dilshad stood up and said in an even voice, keeping her frustration in check. "Zoya, start the story please. Ignore him."
Zoya nodded and looked around the room. Najma was sitting, her face conveying her excitement. Asad and Tanveer still looked like they'd rather knit or make sweaters than listen to her.
Zoya had to think of a good story and fast.
She tried to remember her old stories and finally she stumbled upon the right one.
She snapped her fingers in excitement and said, "I GOT IT, GUYS! I have a story ready. So you all ready?"
Dilshad and Najma nodded their heads vigorously.
"What about you, Tanveer? Ready?" Zoya asked.
Tanveer gave her a constipated smile.
Zoya forced herself to smile back and she looked at Asad.
He just glared back at her and rolled his eyes.
She gave him one final glare and then put on a smile.
Zoya Farooqui was a flawless story teller. She was going to get her game on!
She cleared her throat and pushed her bangs in front.
The sound in the room came to a bare minimum. The only sounds were the rain pattering against the French windows and the only light came from the illuminated candles.
Zoya looked at her audience and whispered, "Once upon a time, there was a little girl-"
"WHY is the protagonist always a little girl? Get real, Miss. Farooqui!"Asad spat out.
Zoya's hands which were already dangling in the air came down in an instant because of the rude interruption.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN? Why can't it be a little girl? GOD, you're such a sexist!" Zoya started off.
Dilshad yelled, "ASAD, stop it! It's her story! Let her just make it a little girl!"
Asad looked miffed and he sulked.
Zoya glared back at him and she said, "ANYWAY, once there was a little girl. She was around eight years old. She didn't believe in ghosts or the supernatural. Until one day, everything changed."
Mr.Khan snorted with disbelief. "What is this? This isn't even scary! It's like some Disney movie! I personally believe-"
"I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT WHAT YOU PERSONALLY BELIEVE!" yelled Zoya.
"MISS. FAROOQUI, I WILL NOTTOLERATE THAT KIND OF LANGUAGE-"chided Asad.
"AHEM!" Dilshad cleared her throat and they both shut up again. Zoya and Asad gave each other dirty looks.
Najma spoke up, "Bhaijaan. Just let her say the story. You can give her your valuable comments later."
"Yes Asad, listen to her." piped in Tanveer.
Asad looked at both of them and relented.
Zoya on the other hand, was frustrated. He was ruining her story telling reputation. She didn't need Najma and Tanveer to make him behave nicely to her! She was Zoya, for the love of God!
Dilshad gestured for her to continue.
Zoya gave one last look at Mr.Khan. Two could play this game. He drank his water, ignoring her penetrating gaze.
"So yes, coming back to the story. I forgot to tell you this girl's name. Now, her name was-" she paused for dramatic effect, "ASAD."
Asad spat out his water and stared choking. Tanveer rushed to his aid and patted his back. Dilshad and Najma couldn't help but laugh at Zoya's tactic.
Asad yelled, "I BEG YOUR PARDON, Miss. Farooqui?!"
"You didn't hear me well enough, then. The girl's name was Asad."
Asad growled in frustration, "ASAD is a boy's name!"
"WELL, in my story! Asad becomes a girl! I mean, Asad is a girl." Zoya explained.
"Then why don't you just make it a boy!" Asad whined.
"BECAUSE, it's my story and I want a girl!" Zoya screeched.
"THEN change the name!"
Dilshad chose this opportune moment to intervene and she said, "ASAD, beta. Stop." She looked at him and snickered. His shirt was crumpled and his hair was messy. He looked so disturbed by the sudden turn of events.
Tanveer sat next to him, her hand on his back. She removed her hand immediately when she realized that Dilshad was looking.
"Zoya, you don't want to change Asad's name?" she questioned with a smile.
Zoya said firmly, "No, Phoophi."
"Then, the story continues."
Zoya smirked in satisfaction at Asad's dubious look and said, "So Asad loved frocks. She had a pet hamster whom she dressed up every day! Asad loved to dress up! Her favorite movie was Barbie and 12 Dancing Princesses! Asad secretly loved dancing."
The real Asad, meanwhile resembled a dragon. He was shaking in anger and he wanted to push Zoya off a cliff. He saw his mother and sister giggling and that heightened his anger.
"I don't see how this has anything to do with the story." He remarked, his voice absolutely bored.
Zoya had had enough fun so she said, "I know, but it's important. This part forms the crux of the story. So listen well!" Zoya said with a smile.
"God, what did I do to deserve this?" Asad muttered.
"So one day, Asad was bored. So she decided to go out. As she was walking-"
"WHY would any sensible parent allow a child to go out of the house on their own? I mean, really Zoya? How can a kid go out alone like that?" Asad's frustration was mounting and it didn't help that every time Zoya said his name he felt a little shiver run down his spine.
"WELL, SHE'S DORA THE FRICKIN' EXPLORER, FOR ALL I CARE!"Zoya screeched in annoyance.
Dilshad sighed in agony. Why couldn't these two just let it be?
Asad had gotten up to reply to Zoya's yelling and for two minutes, they just glared at each other. One could cut the tension in the room with a knife.
Zoya found herself getting lost in his eyes so she snapped out of it.
"Err, so." She looked at the rest of the audience, avoiding Asad. He sat back down and covered his face with his hands. He could feel a head-ache coming.
"As she was walking down the street, she came across an Antique store. She had never seen it before. She thought it was new. So she decided to go inside."
Zoya had successfully completed four lines without an interruption from Mr.Khan. She should get an award.
"She walked into the store. It was dimly lit. She couldn't see much. Then she noticed that behind the counter, there was an old lady. The old lady said-"
"WHY is it always an OLD LADY?! Really Miss. Farooqui? Your imagination-"Asad started off. He got up from his seat to substantiate his point.
"THAT DOES IT!" Zoya yelled.
She took two quick strides and grabbed Asad's tie.
They were eye-to-eye now.
"What-"she bit out, "is your problem?"
