I agree with you totally on this.I do not condone violence of any form be it towards a man or a woman. Can't get my head round everyone here trying to justify this action of Asads...understand he's distraught, angry and paining but he has no right to raise his hand on a woman. If we were all to go around hitting or slapping someone when in anger then what would happen to the civilazation of the world?Miss Gul is promoting this and we got women here trying to justify this deed.If all woman were to unite then we probably would one day get to see opression to woman kind nearing it's end but I guess we got a long way to go realistically till we get anywhere near that!I am simply seething with rage today...and dnt know if any repentance on Asad's behalf is going to make me see the characeter in a different light again!

oh my my my. it's because of such an inspid audience we're still exposed to such crass screenplay.

Who's protesting? I shared an opinion and like minded people are responding.

It also disturbs me how MEEKLY Zoya took the slap...yes she felt guilty, fair enough...but why is there this mentality in our society that men can do ANYTHING and get away with it...a million excuses to justify their actions...they were upset, they were angry, they didn't mean it, they'll regret it...whatever.

But this mindset that a woman should take whatever is dished out to her...and what...wait for her "knight in shining armor" to realize his "mistake" and come back to her all apologetic? Does that make ABUSE ok?

It really is appalling that a WOMAN is behind this screenplay, this show...Honestly even the Mills and Boons that Ms. Gul so worships don't have abuse of THIS level...if she's so "inspired" from them to begin with, maybe she can atleast TRY to dial down the violence?

Angsty, bitter love stories are all well and good...but there is a LINE that should not be crossed...what message are you sending out after this then? That he slapped her so VIOLENTLY but it's all ok cuz he was upset cuz of his mother, misunderstood Zoya etc. etc.?

What's strange to me is that he hit her so violently on her FACE and the makers so smartly didn't show a single scratch on her face, instead chose to show one on her hand...are they trying to DOWNPLAY the violence of the slap this way? Cuz sorry it doesn't do that...It was very MENACINGLY done and the image is hard to get out of one's mind...especially in today's times when the debate over the inhumane violence against women is being raged so passionately in society. At a time like this, to show something like THIS? What is the meaning of this?

The screenplay is most definitely at fault...and the sad thing is that this will all be brushed under the carpet in the melodrama of the Rashid-Dilshad sobfest...nobody even BLINKED over the incident for the rest of the epi...amazing.

Well said! It was menacing, brutal and uncivilized.
It leaves me aghast that they can show this in today;s context...seriously, how can they?
I hope Zoya's zero-tolerance attitude continues. She shd stay and make sure Dilshaad is okay and then leave this dysfunctional family.

now that wd be the right message.

but i know I am hoping for way too much.

Welcome to our world, where women will always be lower than dirt no matter how much people talk about equality. It happens in every show a man will shove the women against a wall and people will name it passion, he will spew out crude words and they will say it was the heat of the moment, he will slap her and they'll say 'well she deserved it'.

And people actually eat this shit up like it's chocolate fondue.

i disagree. If we like to think of ourselves as thinking individuals then we must protest when we see something like this happen. Of course, we dont need to watch mindless shows. But just because they are mindless, doesnt give them the right to show objectionable stuff. If no one speaks up, then they will only hear one voice, and that is of the adulating masses who want to rub balm on hot AAK's wounds. You may be right that there is precious little we can do, but if we do not do even this much, can we live with ourselves? and i did stop watching an earlier show, and a combined noise about continued harshness did force gul to tone down the character. all this arises from women's timeless fantasy of taming the untamable dark, messed up character with love...reforming the unreformable. gul certainly has some dark, repressed motivations here!

Advise to use remote?😆 Do do you think the country that you live in is perfect? You don't stop living in your country na? Then why debate topics? Or do you take everything in spirit?

thank you rockerchic.

I have stopped watching shows in past as a form of personal protest against regressive values. It may not count for much, but it;s important to me. And I think this thread is evidence of the fact that more of us are thinking about what we watch and what we endorse by watching...that is what it means to be a responsible consumer and dare I say, a responsible citizen.
