in IPK i remember a scene where ASR lets go of khushi's hand and lets her drop to the floor below. i have never been able to get that pic out of my mind. no matter how much romance he showered on her later, do u really think a girl can erase that from her memory. i couldnt. how can you ever trust that man again with your life and your happiness. he may let go again! and now this asad...what is with gul?

Guys dont talk about IPK/ASR. (for personal reasons i tend to get irrationally angry when he is mentioned) no but seriously lets just stick to Asad. One male chauvinist at a time okay?

I think that was a first even for a Gul Khan show...yes all her characters are carbon-copies of each other regarding characteristics...but the sheer VIOLENCE of this slap really took me aback while watching the scene...

Angsty, bitter love stories are all well and good...but there is a LINE that should not be crossed...what message are you sending out after this then? That he slapped her so VIOLENTLY but it's all ok cuz he was upset cuz of his mother, misunderstood Zoya etc. etc.?

What's strange to me is that he hit her so violently on her FACE and the makers so smartly didn't show a single scratch on her face, instead chose to show one on her hand...are they trying to DOWNPLAY the violence of the slap this way? Cuz sorry it doesn't do that...It was very MENACINGLY done and the image is hard to get out of one's mind...especially in today's times when the debate over the inhumane violence against women is being raged so passionately in society. At a time like this, to show something like THIS? What is the meaning of this?

The screenplay is most definitely at fault...and the sad thing is that this will all be brushed under the carpet in the melodrama of the Rashid-Dilshad sobfest...nobody even BLINKED over the incident for the rest of the epi...amazing.

I agree! REdemption? what redemption? how the hell can you redeem this? and why are we looking for that damn man's redemption? just so that we can drool over him? gaaahhh!!! i know what redemption they will show. he will cut his hand or do some injury to himself or some such rot!!
i hope zoya gives him one too! and then walks out on him...
for the first time i hope zoya lands up with ayaan or no one at all. but not this stupid , stupid man. thanks for this thread. i got sooo sick of the other threads where they are making a sucking martyr of the man. i almost got into a scrap there. i cant believe that women are the first to accept and condone this nonsense , even expect it at home. no wonder we have such incidents in india!

Word! Zoya doesn;t need to be with someone so deeply chauvinistic and regressive.

I hear you...our patriarchy runs way too deep. it's all too evident in the attitudes here.

Oh Ms Gul has been wanting to do this for quite a while. Women accepting and defending Asad. It pains me.

is this going to make any of you to stop watching the show?nahi na?then what is the point of such debates?did you stop watching the earlier show?it is a fictional show with fictional characters who behave in so and so manner.if you can take it in that spirit then fine.or else keep protesting and watching the same show.

Yes to everything you just said ! When I saw the scene I was like what the actual 🤬. I'm horrified and quite frankly worried about the girls on this forum that think what Asad did was justified. I understand that he's furious because it's his mother but seriously man I expected him to scream at her or punch or wall or even throw her out of the house or even stop halfway when he realised what he was doing. But no he freaking backhand slapped her and that is definitely not okay with me . I won't stand for violence against anybody, be it men, women, children or animals. What kind of message is that even sending to young girls~that it's okay to be with your abuser because he misunderstood you. I've always thought that he treated her badly before but this just crosses the line and she deserves better even when he realises he was wrong and is grovelling on the floor. I think it's definitely going to take me some time to warm up to Asad again.
