Chapter 1: A Peek Into The Past..

"The past seemed disgusting,

Nevertheless it was interesting.."

Aditya saw the blue mist surrounding him; a sense of fear suddenly invaded him. What if his invention was wrong? What if it was taking him somewhere else? He clutched onto the Time-Traveler tightly, he saw years pass by outside the translucent mist of blue. He knew he was going back in time; he was going to witness the past. The past he only knew through the mere history text books he had; the same past he once wanted to live in just because he wanted to escape the present.

The mist suddenly disappeared and he breathed hard; he knew he was 100 years back. He had rotated the blue part exactly 100 times. The atmosphere around him had totally changed; the air was not fresh any more but it was dusty. There weren't any skyscrapers anymore around him but there were only huts. The roads weren't tarred instead they were dusty and sandy. There weren't any cars; the only mode of transport he could see was a bullock cart far away.

He noticed a man passing by, who looked at him as if he was An Alien from Mars' from head to toe. The man looked extremely simple; Adi noticed a sense of fear in his eyes. As he slowly walked away, a procession followed. All of them were stylish and white in colour. Adi instantly knew he was in British India. He must be witnessing the freedom fight shortly, Adi thought and then laughed at himself when he realized that whatever he studied in history was never so right. But anyway he could expect, a fight, couldn't he? He wondered if millions sacrificed their lives for the country during the period he was now witnessing.

"New here? Haven't seen you around!" Adi suddenly heard someone questioning him from behind. When he turned back, he saw another simple man staring at him.

Adi nodded his head positively and started looking around again trying to understand what was happening. Finally he decided to ask the person who was staring at Adi "Ji! Can you tell me what's happening?"

The man exclaimed "You don't know? It was the Jallianwala Bagh yesterday and thousands of Indians have been killed by the Englishwalon. Cruel people!" Adi saw him gritting his teeth and then he continued "You better go away because the Britishers are still angry and may keep on killing people. Thank god I escaped safely. But I don't fear anyone..." And he started boasting himself with utmost pride to which Adi paid the least attention. Did he just hear it right? He was standing in the period when Jallianwala Bagh Massacre had happened. Curiosity was killing him now. He wanted to know more.

"Thank you for the information!" Adi uttered pleasantly and started walking away.

"Ji! Stop! Where are you from anyway? Your clothes seem like the Englishawalon ki." The man called from behind.

Adi looked at himself from head to toe. It's true he was wearing Western clothes but how was he going to explain himself? Could he just tell them he was from future? No he couldn't! Adi suddenly turned around and said "I am from a modern family. Now do not think I am a Britisher. I am an Indian." Without waiting for further questions he walked away swiftly leaving a confused man behind "Modern family, wo kya hota hain?" he thought and walked away minding his own business.

Adi again moved forward passing the houses, some of them really small ,some little large and some large enough for a joint family to live in. The scenes he saw in the courtyards of the houses were different. None of them seemed happy. Each seemed to be in misery. Maybe misery of poverty or losing loved ones or something. Why should he care anyway?

He came here to prove to his friends that his time Traveler works so what he now wanted to do was to go back as soon as he can. The past seemed quite interesting as well as disgusting. He knew if he stayed longer, more questions would follow.

He was about to turn the green part of the Time-Traveler when something caught his eye. In the daylight, it seemed to be the most beautiful vision ever; it was a girl, a young girl. She was cleaning the courtyard of a house with a broom smiling and mumbling something to herself. He immediately fell in love with her eyes and her smile. Now he knew, past was not just interesting, but it was beautiful too!

Sorry for being a bit late, but my schedule is so tight nowadays! Wasn't I lagging the update too much? I know I was but I just wanted to show what all was going on there when he reached the past.

I know I am not a fab writer but it's just that I love to write and especially about fantasy. That's the main reason I decided to write something like this. I won't be much regular with the updates but I would still try to update whenever I get time!

I know Jalianwala Bagh didn't occur exactly hundred years ago, but just assume it did! :P

Girl this update was brilliant! Loved the excitement in Adi's thoughts to move back into time and his traveller worked! Wow back in the British India days! Loved the way that man was shocked to see him in western clothes and his little smiles and nods. Then the most awaited moment when he looks at that girl and falls in love with her from first sight! I am sure this girl is our Pankhu! Keep going girl this story is unique and interesting!
