Honestly it was Vivian and Sukirti's chemistry that made the pairing work, PIya's writing alone was enough to piss us off.

There's just one question I'd like to ask you...you might fall for a person who has multiple flaws and try to make it work because you think love is enough. Give it a few years (or in some case a few months) and you will know what that would be like. You wouldn't be able to stand the person and would hate his guts. Those break ups are usually very messy. I myself had come out of a toxic relationship where I thought I could live with the guy's flaws, help him become a better person etc but that just cost me scars and pains. The way Piya treated Abhay in the case of Sid, Maithili, Jeh etc...there was no way she would not do something much more hurtful in the future. And Piya did not accept him, she forced him to show her the vampire side and later reacted in the worst way possible. She did such stupid things and did not trust the guy who saved her multiple times that it turned Abhay into an emotional wreck.

In the real world, Abhay and Piya would not stand a chance, and would probably have divorced within the first couple years given Piya's irrational behaviour. On the other hand, Misha-Kabir, Danish-Panchi and Ruhi-Angad would've still be going strong, with kids and everything.

So the question is: would you still chose to live with a person for the rest of your life when said person has done extremely hurtful things to you? If you answer no, then you know exactly what was wrong with Abhay-Piya.

I think this is kind of why I didn’t like the fact that Piya and Maithili looked the same (TVD did handle this much more nicely)

If Maithili looked different from Piya, would Abhay have been drawn to her in the first place? Maybe, because of the whole soulmate thing, but that one tiny point of attachment? (Not sure if that’s the right word) brought him to her in the first place I might just be speaking nonsense but it’s hard to put into words 😆

Trust and communication, two very important things in a relationship, was pretty much not there for them 😭 and that was painful to watch, but ViSu’s chemistry for whatever romance scenes we got saved it somewhat but not enough in my opinion

You are absolutely right Piya's behaviour was hell toxic many times towards Abhay. 😶

But trust me, I have seen these kind of relationships working out in real life too! And always I wondered, "What the hell is happening!?"

Can't agree more! After being an adult I never liked this plotline. Abhay liked Piya in first place bcz she looked like his dead lover. This is lowkey obsession, in my opinion. Don't you think?🤔

That’s what I was starting to think, at least in the beginning that’s why he was even paying attention to her, and that’s why she’ll never look like Maithili in my fanfics 🤣

TVD had an entire storyline on dopplegangers and immortality origin with the Silas, Amara, Qetsiah narrative. Even the storyline of the Originals covered how the first vampires came into existence.

At least TVD covered the Salvatores were descendants of Silas and Elena and Katherine were Amara's. The entire theory that dopplegangers came into existence as a balance to fix the disruption caused by the Immortals and were that's why drawn to each other. And how the Salvatores and Gilberts were linked to both Mikaelsons (vampire bloodline) and the Immortals.

PKYEK never covered any of that, till date we don't know why Maithili and PIya look the same. Coz I even had another doubt that if Piya looked like Maithili, wouldn't there be another girl who would be born after some 100 years who would look like these two?

TVD ended the dopplegangers' existence when Silas, Amara and the remaining dopplegangers Katherine and Tom Avery were killed. So then Damon and Elena could be endgame, without the doppleganger attraction problem.

TVD even showed Nina portaraying every doppleganger in a different way. Maithili became evil for no logical reason. It felt like the writers just added that to end Sid's storyline instead of making him a main character.

ViSu's chemistry was the saving grace and distracted us very well from the loopholes 😆

I was always thinking how Piya could do so many shitty things to Abhay.

I know Abhay would hurt her and be mean to her to keep her away, but he also saved her multiple times. She owed that much to him.

I think I stopped watching TVD after this specific season ended, but it was very interesting. You’d think with how long ITV shows can be there’d be some interesting substance like this, but no 😆 goes back to maybe budget issue and other things haha

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that that stuff in TVD came after PKYEK’s run, but there was no twist to Maithili’s reveal other than she’s alive 😆 why did she turn evil? How did she survive? Why didn’t she try to find Abhay in so many years? If she’s as powerful as the show made her out to be, then Sid shouldn’t be an issue right (if he was stopping her)?

Sid had so much potential too....😭

I never saw TVD during its original run because I was very young at the time and there were too many sex and kissing scenes. We had one TV in the living room and naturally my parents would not approve of such explicit materials, coz lets be real, everyone on the show literally jumped into new relationships in no time, made out with everyone and everyone was sleeping with everyone. Cant believe it was a teen show 😆 And internet speed and OTT weren't readily available. Now toh u get it on Netflix and Prime Video araam se.

PKYEK writers honestly got lazy after Ekta stopped her supervision, thats why you could see the quality of the show dip.

Maithili getting turned into a vampire made no sense. The way vampires were created in PKYEK, it was some three consecutive bites on full moon nights. So there was no way Sid could turn Maithili into a vampire the night he got bit the first time. And wouldn't Maithili have perished in the fire by the time he got to her? Physics, biology, chemistry all out of the window 😆

What bugged me the most about the Maithili track was why she chose to remain hidden for a hundred or so years. We knew Katherine stayed away because initially she was shown to be this cold, manipulative bitch but as the series went on we found out she was on the run from Klaus and that's why she came back to Mystic Falls after a 100 years i.e to give Elena to Klaus.

Maithili would have run to her Abhayendra the minute she would come to know he is alive. Also there was no way Matihili was stronger than both Abhay and Sid. Even the bit where Abhay is said to be the strongest vampire ever made no sense to me. At least give us a damn reason!

And when Maithili appeared wearing that cheap polyester gown I was like wtf man didn't ur lover buy you clothes in hundred years, he is a freaking businessman 🤣

Even Katherine used to dress up freaking stylishly according to the time era! Why was Maithili in that gown?! Logic gaya tel lene 🤣

Sid was my favourite after Abhay and T, I wish he would've stayed on longer. It was the only time I felt bad when a villain died on ITV.

Indian TV has to really stop this 5 days a week telecast and start following the seasons patterns. Especially after COVID you would think CINTAA would start making progressive changes but no, same old bullshit saas-bahu crap. If I am in the mood for some Hindi/Urdu show I watch Pakistani shows. They too follow the seasons pattern and a show may not last more than 30-40 episodes. That way you'd not get bored and actors aren't type-casted because they played one iconic role for 10+ years. There is no unnecessary drama and SFX too. Its so much better than the crap we get here.
