Hey everyone...I gues I'm the first one to write an OS here on the wonderful thread
It is based off of one of my favorite fairytales "the frog prince"
Dedicating this to Paint.it.BlacK aka Indu di for giving me an opportunity to write in this thread
Abhiya OS- The Princess and The Vampire Piya stared into the dark forest off her balcony. She always liked to sneak out whenever possible. The confines of the palace felt suffocating. Her father, the king, was very protective about her. He couldn't let her out if his sight for even a moment. He would let Misha and Panchi go out at will...but never her. She never knew why.
Piya always went out whenever her father left the palace for political purposes. With the help of Misha, she would slip out of the palace gates and into the dark forest. She was never afraid of the forest. It was her freedom.
"Piya! Open the door!" Misha knocked on her door.
"What?"
"Father is leaving! Let's go!"
She grabbed Piya by the wrist and the twosome bypassed the guards and the queen. They were on the outskirts of the forest.
"Piya...you enjoy...I'll be back in a minute."
"Ok Misha."
Piya walked to the nearby stream. She dipped her feet into the cool, running water. She felt free. She looked around her surroundings. Something moved in the bushes nearby. Piya stared in that direction. A pair of cobalt blue eyes stared at her, in a loving and dark way. Piya got up quickly. Those eyes didn't move.
She heard a growl from behind. She cautiously turned around. There was a wolf standing there. It was bigger than normal. Piya slowly backed away. The owner of the intriguing eyes lunged at the wolf, biting into its neck and tearing its throat out. Piya's fear grew with the sight. The wolf was dead.
The man caught her by the wrist before she could run away. He pulled her close to his ice cold body. She was captivated by this monster's beauty. He looked like a prince.
"Where are you going, my princess? Won't you stay here?"
Piya tried to jerk herself away from him, but his iron-like grip prevented her from doing so.
"Please let me go!" She pleaded. Tears of fear fell down her cheeks.
"Shhh...no more crying. I can't see my princess in tears." He wiped her tears, but that scared her even more. She flinched at his cold touch.
"Who are you? And why are you holding me forcibly like this?"
"I'm your lover, Abhay is my name." He paused, looking deep into Piya's eyes. "I've seen you every time you come here, into this dark forest. I've fallen in love with you." His eyes darkened. His possessive side was slowly taking over.
"But I don't even know you! Please let me go."
"Fine. I will let you go. But give me a kiss and break this curse that is keeping me away from you. Then we can become one."
"No! Let me go!" She yelled.
Her silver bracelet grazed his arm, burning the area it touched completely. He shrieked in pain.
Piya saw this as her chance to run. She used all her energy to get away from there. Misha found her.
"Piya! Why are you running?"
"Nothing...wild animals. I got scared."
"Are you okay?"
"Yes I'm fine..." She said, panting.
"Lets go inside." Misha said.
Piya looked back into the forest. He was gone. She sighed in relief. She wanted to stay away from him.
Abhay watched her from a distance. He wanted her to be his. But they couldn't become one until she broke the curse. He couldn't wait for that moment. He remembered the incident in full detail. That witch had conjured up another vampire with her magic, and had it bite Abhay, subjecting him to an eternity of loneliness. He recalled her final words.
"Only your true love can break this curse, with a kiss of passionate desire."
(Near Midnight...)
Piya found herself in the forest again. She was confused. Wasn't she in the palace? She stood there like a statue, wondering how she ended up there. A pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist. It was Abhay. He nuzzled her neck for a while, then kissed her there with his cold lips. Piya melted in his arms.
Then he whispered gently into her ear.
"I love you..." Then he disappeared.
Piya woke up with a jolt. She looked around the room, to see if he was there. The curtains slightly moved, as if someone ran past them. She heard the crunch of leaves on the ground. He had come. Piya curled up on her bed, tugging at the blanket. Something rolled down the blanket while she pulled at it. It caught her eye and she picked it up. It was a red rose, without thorns...
A small smile appeared on her face. Her fear slowly washed away. She had never experienced this feeling before. It was foreign to her. She got up and stared out the window. No one. Surprisingly disappointed, she went back to bed, clutching the rose in her hands.
(Next morning..)
Piya woke up to the sound of horses.
"Father must be back..." She thought.
Piya got out of bed and quickly got ready in a lacy white gown. She hurried downstairs. King Arnab walked inside with a tensed expression. Piya went to ask him what happened. She couldn't see her father in tension.
"Father...what happened?"
"Nothing Piya dear...you won't understand. Political matters..." He rubbed his forehead.
"Please father tell me! I want to help you solve your problem."
King Arnab agreed eventually. He led his daughter to the grand study. He sat her down next to him, near to the fireplace.
"Piya...I went to meet King Chand. He rules in the neighboring kingdom. He had this concern about who will ascend the throne after his death."
"Doesn't he have a son?" Piya asked, confused.
"He does, but his son disappeared two years ago."
"How?"
"All they know is that he was visiting a nearby kingdom...and he disappeared while on the road to there. King Chand still thinks his son is alive and well, and that someone is plotting against them."
"What's his son's name?"
"Abhay...Abhay Raichand." He said.
Piya was shocked by the name. Was this Abhay the same one she ran into in the forest. She sat there silent.
"Piya...go to your room. You don't look well. Your face is pale. Go dear." Arnab said.
"Okay father." She slowly walked back.
She tried to find him every time she went into the forest. She couldn't find him. But she still found a rose every night on her bed. She needed to talk to him. One night, she took the rose and tied a note to it. She threw it out the window, hoping he will receive it.
Abhay found the rose on the ground. He picked it up and took the note off.
"I want to meet you...I'm coming down there..." It read.
He waited in the same spot until his princess showed up. She came into view. He admired her beauty, from head to toe. Piya also looked at him for a minute...how can a blood drinking monster look so innocent and humane? She spoke up first.
"Are you...King Chand's son?" She asked directly.
Abhay looked at her possessively before he answered.
"I am."
"Then how did you end up like this?"
Abhay explained how he was cursed by a witch, because his father had humiliated her in front of all his subjects. She wanted revenge, so she used to magic to turn him into a vampire. He held her hand over to his heart. She was shocked to feel no pulse.
"...and only a kiss from my true love could break the curse." He concluded.
Piya never seen someone in this much pain before. Deep down, she had fallen in love with Abhay. She felt his love for her, even if it was masked by possessive love. Abhay couldn't control himself any longer. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to his cold body. He bent his head towards her neck and nuzzled it. Piya realized that her dream was coming true.
"I love you..." He whispered into her ear.
His grip tightened. But he didn't disappear. She decided to tell him as well.
"I..I love you too." She said shyly.
She turned around and gave him a lingering kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. A white light engulfed Abhay, as their kiss deepened. Piya's hands went down to his chest, where she finally felt his heartbeat. The curse was broken...
(Some days later...)
Abhay had finally returned home, much to his parents' delight. The news had spread to all the kingdoms. Abhay went to King Arnab's palace with his parents to ask for Piya's hand in marriage. She happily accepted.
Abhay pulled her aside, taking her to the balcony of her bedroom. They stared at the twinkling stars under the bright full moon.
"Now you will always be mine, my princess." He cuddled her.
She giggled...as Abhay pulled her in for one more kiss.
