Moving Towards Light

Abhay found kate giggling,standing close to nitin, one of their old college friends. abhay came infront of them n without saying a word, roughly holding kate's hand he drew her into a corner and demanded, 'what did u do with pia's drink? What did u mix? How dare u do this? Answer me kate!!!'. Kate heard watever abhay said till now, but it seemed she cared less,and gave an evil smile,enjoying every bit of it! This made abhay who was already fuming,lose his temper further, which he was holding till now, and shouted, 'I am asking u something kate! And I want straight cut answers! I'm in no mood in wasting my time, which I already had all this months, being with a person like you! So u better...but before abhay could complete kate put her finger on his lips n moving close to him, inhaling deeply she hissed, 'ya..just as I thought! The smell..that b***** jasmine smell...she stopped n inhaled again n snarled, 'its..its all over you! That b***** b***h did it! isnt it?', her eyes became sharp, 'I knew it... that girl..pia..she isn't what she seems! She is not at all innocent! No wonder her scent is all over you!'. She muttered with a smile of pure disgust playing n her beautifuly curved lips, 'miss pia has used her assets! and I can very well see that.. she..', 'just stop it kate' shouted abhay, stop your nonsense! Say Thanks to God that you are a girl and my friend once, or else I would have shoved your head right away for telling all this shit about my piya!' abhay's eyes looked deadly, which was unusual for a soft spoken, fun loving amiable person like abhay. It was so unlike him. But kate has dared to mess with someone precious to him, and so this had to happen. Kate instead of shutting her mouth, snarled back more ferociously n muttered, 'oww..my my!! Ah..han..my pia! I see! So she has done her job..han..! What else could one expect with that germ..faking an innocent face, with a heart full of nothing but garbage..she is nothing but a wh**e...before kate could blurt out more venom, there was a loud sound n kate's eyes went big with disbelieve as she touched her own face, realising that abhay had just slapped her!!! 'yo..u..how..co..ul..d yo..u..', abhay retorted rudely, 'yes ,the thing that I should have done long back! It's for saying ill things about pia, not only today but all this months, for hurting n insulting her, and last but not the least for ruining the valuable time of my life, which I will never get back! I regret it now!! I wish I had never met you, wish I could rewind my life! But it's too late now! still am glad that I did it! And I will set things right now! and yes,one more thing,donot try to judge pia,because pia as a person belongs to a far more higher level, than you, n that you can ever imagine! So don't put stress on your small brain! and before I call the security, n they throw you out, just get out of here...get out of my sight.' Kate looked horrible. It was no more a beautiful face but a face of a dangerous creature, who was ready to exert her venom anytime! She turned but stopped at the doorway n said, 'abhay wait for me dear! You are gonna pay honey, n your darling pia will have to pay the interest!!' with this kate left.
Abhay stood there,motionless. He still couldn't believe how blind he had been all this while,thinking kate to be his..his..what? he doesn't even know! He never really thought about it! hell..damn..what was I doing all this while,when I don't even know what or wether I had any feelings for her? I am so screwed. whatever ri says is true! I am so immature..!' abhay would have surely kept on thinking on his new found self-discovery but his thought were hindered when a familiar voice called him from behind. 'abhi dear,you are confused as always! Abhay turned only to find Rajeeb standing infront of him. 'why don't u use ur brains for once man? You had one for sure, but keeping it unused for long had formed a thick coating upon it I guess!'. Anybody would think that he was mocking at abhay,but rajeeb was that kind of person that anyone would love to have as a friend. He was a man of personality,charming and humorous in nature, but also he was the only person who was no less in attitude than abhay, and infront of whom abhay's attitude or arrogance couldn't stand for long. And this was the very reason that abhay avoided him after kate came in his life,because rajeeb was the only person who confronted him in every possible way with his sarcastic remarks everytime, to bring him out of the reverie what was actually a nightmare namely kate! Abhay was already in a disturbed state n rajeeb's words further irritated him,so he said a bit annoyedly, 'what? What do you mean?', 'common abhay! Dn't behave like u dn't know what I mean! I always knew kate wasn't right for you. She might be a beauty but without brains n moreover she never understood you,neither she had the depth nor capability. but unfortunately ur eyes weren't able to see that! the thing u did now,I wish u had done long before,then there had never been so much complexities as there r now!' abhay for the first time didn't protest ,leaving a deep sigh he said, 'rajeeb I am very tired n had enough already,so plzz leave me alone!' 'fine even I dn't want to interfere in ur business, bye', finishing his words he turned to leave when abhay called back, 'hey rajeeb..wait! Ok. I accept it! I know whatever u said n you'r saying now is true but it wasn't a happy phase for me either! I just need to be alone rajeeb..hope u understand!' 'ya..i do', rajeeb turned to leave but he paused n came back and placing a hand on his shoulder he said, 'you both r essential for each other abhay! Together u both behave yourselves. Hope u both realise it soon. I always saw it, everyone did, wonder how u both did not! Bye n take care and whenever you need me am always there.' He smiled and left.
Abhay came to his room and jumped into his bed. he closed his eyes and the face of a devastated pia flashed before his eyes, her words kept repeating in his ears again n again, her pain, vulnerability, helplessness once again wrenched his soul, engulfing him in an unknown feeling of agony n hatred. No the hatred wasn't for pia,but for himself,the undeniable pain she had suffered beacause of him. But still amidst all this, somewhere deep inside there was a strange feeling of tranquillity that he felt after ages. 'what is this? What has changed? Why all of a sudden,am I feeling so light n happy? Is it because I got my sis back? Or is it because I am finally free from the forced relation?', Abhay asked himself. 'yes all of these are valid reasons but why I feel that's not all! There is something more! Oh..god! how messed up I am. risa is right, I am so dumb! Or else how on earth I went into a relation with kate? When I don't even l...wait dn't even what? Wow! all this while I was with kate, and I never really thought about this, that I actually didn't have any feelings for her! Awesome! Mr. Abhay raichand, the famous actor,great! Then what on earth was I doing with her? No,I never felt any kind of attraction towards her,no nt even physically! Then?' abhay got up more confused now, and muttered to himself, 'then is it is it...something else?the feeling I had towards piya,is it..no,I should better not use my stupid brain, i should put an hold to my crazy thoughts, as they had already landed me in a wrong relationship, not anymore. I just hope piya forgives me, she means a lot to me and I know only one thing now that I want my friend back!' while going through all this abhay did not even realise when he fell asleep. as soon as he woke up,remembering piya, he jumped up worriedly n taking his phone,he dialled tora's number n mumbled to himself,'damn how did I fall sleep! I was supposed to call tora! Hope piya is fine!' 'hey abhay! What happened?', tora asked sleepishly. 'How is piya? Is she ok? did she woke up?',abhay went on without waiting for the answer. 'Hold on abhay! Piya is perfectly fine. and no she havn't woke up yet as u already know the doctor said she wn't before 12hrs. and it's only been 4 hrs since you have left'. Abhay said confusedly, 'oh..is it? but its..its..', 'abhay have u seen what time is it now?' 'hm..no..i think nt!' 'Its 2:30am abhay!', Said tora in a tired voice. 'O..am..actually..i didn't notice the time..actua..' 'its ok abhay,I understand, but you need some rest as well, go to bed n dn't worry about pia, she will be fine.' she said in a calm voice. 'Hm..ya..ya..ok..', replied abhay, but he didn't disconnect the call. 'Abhay?' 'A..ya..?' 'you want to say anything else?', Um..no..its alrite.' After a second or two tora said gently, 'dn't worry, as soon as piya opens her eyes I will call you back! is that ok now?' 'yep! Ok..bye..n thanks!' 'oh..comon abhay. Dn't b so formal !',tora said with a smile.
Abhay hung up the call, feeling relieved and went to bed, hoping the night would end soon.
The loud noice of alarm coming from his I-phone brought him back from his peaceful sleep. Abhay got up hurriedly and after some 15 minutes he was seen standing infront his closet. Not looking for once at the shirt and the pair of jeans, abhay just grabbed whatever he found nearby and wearing them, he rushed to the lift and the next moment he was heading towards the hall, when haseena saw him n was hell surprised, as abhay never used the lift,he always preferred to take the stairs instead. These days her son always kept a distance so Haseena hesitated at first then she called, 'abhay where r u going? You havn't taken ur breakfast even,atleast..' but before she could say further, abhay while running towards the doorway shouted back, 'I'm in hurry mom. Dn't worry I will b back soon. Bye..' and he was gone. Haseena was stunned, she thought, 'was she dreaming? Or did her son really talked to her? Its like after ages that Abhay replied her back n that too so normally! She couldn't believe! She has got her son back! but how this miracle happened? Or rather who made this happen?', while she kept on thinking,abhay was on the road in his black porche.
He parked the car outside and rushed inside the residence n the next moment, he was standing infront the door, pressing the bell. The door opened and a surprised voice exclaimed, 'abhay! You...' 'ya..how is piya? Is she awake?' he said as he entered and without waiting for the answer,he entered the room where pia lay asleep. 'abhay I think I told you she w'nt wake up before 12hrs n its 6:15am now,which means there is still 3-4 hrs to go!' tora said with a sigh. 'oh..is it? oh..ya,I think you did say that! Urm..um..sorry to bother you..i..', ' common you aren't bothering me n its okey!'said tora with a smile n she left.
After tora was gone abhay looked at piya,her eyes were closed,she was sleeping peacefully. her angelic face n Her innocence which enhanced her beauty even more touched his heart n reaching his soul renewed thousand emotions those were diificult to explain, unable to control his new found feelings, abhay sat beside piya and beheld her,she looked beautiful as ever but there was sign of tiredness n an impression of pain, observing her, abhay felt terrible, 'damn how come I didn't even notice this before!! She suffered only because of me! but i..i never bothered to look back at her..how heartless have I been..' as abhay said this words his hands reached to pia , he lovingly ran his fingers in her wavy hair, and slowly leaning forward he gently kissed her forehead, as if trying to reconcile for all the hurt she had to beare till now. 'oh..pia..dear...I missed you so much..the fights, the love, the care, all the happy moments that I had spent with you... I missed them all... n I realised only now that a fool like me wn't b able to carry on without you!! I still don't know what you mean to me, but yes I know one thing, that I want you back..! i want my friend back..!!', murmured abhay as he gently caressed her head with his right hand while his left hand tenderly held her hand in his.
Abhay have this', tora's voice brought abhay back from his thoughts. He turned n saw tora, standing with a tray in her hand. 'its ok tora,I dn't need this. you dn't need to do all this! I had my breakfast,n moreover I just came to see pia', abhay felt embarrassed. 'abhay, common u dnt have to lie to me! I know u never take ur breakfast at this hour n am sure u havnt as well ! So just stop arguing n eat this! Then you can sit as long as you want' 'um..okk..' abhay took the dish n smiled, 'thanks tora', 'we r friends abhay! So stop saying thanks n sorry!' abhay nodded.
It was 8am and abhay was still sitting beside piya,he kept looking at his watch occasionally. Tora came to have a look n seeing abhay in the same position,she just wondered how on earth abhay cant see what he feels for pia! she left a sigh.
Abhay was reluctantly turning the pages of a magazine,when hearing a sound he looked up n saw pia mumbling something, and her fingers stirred. Abhay quickly held her hand,n gently called her name,his eyes full of worry 'piya..!' her eyelids stirred n pia slowly opened her eyes...
Note: Guys here I end the first part of this chapter. I know this chapter may seem boring n also it has less abhiya scenes but from next chapter there will b lots of abhiya moments. 😊
