For me, there's a huge difference between engagement and marriage. I feel sorry for Shashank and Prateeksha for the circumstances in which they had to say yes for marriage. Shashank who had never taken any decision in his life had to say yes to Suhani just because she attempted to suicide. Prateeksha, being left out since her childhood, had to say yes to Prashant so that she doesn't remain alone her whole life...
I don't think there is anything wrong in Shashank and Prateeksha's love because so far, they haven't done anything wrong behind Sumo and Prashant's back. They have just confessed their love for each other and that's it. The problem is that indians always need to overreact after an engagement happens and one of the guy or the girl wants to break it. I mean, what's Shashank's fault if Sumo kinda blackmailed him and he realized that he loves Prateeksha after he was really in love with her? What's Prateeksha's fault if Shashank was the only one to help her when she was in problems? Prashant didn't even seem concerned that Prateeksha, engaged to him, is living at someone else's house!
I understand Sumo's obsession for Shashank because I think I would also be obsessed by him 😆 but after a while, I'd think about all this seriously... The guy doesn't even love me, so why am I forcing him to get married to me? No wonder Ekta's characters are always dumb beside Shashank who seems to be more realistic (he has accepted that he's doing wrong to Sumo and he was strong enough to confess the whole truth to the world...) I'd be strong enough and I'd rather want Shashank to tell me that he doesn't love me but loves someone else.... There's no future to a forced marriage!! That marriage is not going to last too long!
About Prateeksha and Prashant's wedding, Prashant is just using Prateeksha for money! He doesn't even care from where Prateeksha gets the money!! All he wants is that money is being delivered to him on time! 😡 For me, the man who makes his to-be-wife sell his self-respect is just not a man! 😡 Then you might blame Prateeksha for all this, but poor girl! There is no one to tell her what's right and wrong... When Shashank tells her what's right, her antar atma comes and tells her that Shashank is wrong! 😡
I'd rather have Shashank and Prateeksha break off their engagements than getting to see Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna again... I mean, if Shashank and Prateeksha get married to their respective partners and then they realize that their life is empty and that both Shashank and Prateeksha commit adultery, that would be so so so WRONG!! I am seriously not interested to see that so I hope truth comes out before any of Shashank or Prateeksha's wedding...
What is right and wrong always depends from one's perspective but standing up for the truth is a principle that should come above everything... They say that truth is always bitter but no matter what circumstances would be around me, I think I would stand up for the truth.. But here in Ekta's dramas, truth has no meaning ever!
