@ Indu: Beautiful take. I was so engrossed in it that I was actually disappointed when it stopped.
@ Red: Love your analysis as well.

@ Indu:"My mother did not give up on me; when I needed to get across, she steadied herself long enough for me to run across safely."

I heart the above statement.😃

Loved the way you have also said that the show has not disheartened you at any point. I feel the same way about the show too but now I have to watch it online.

I too would like to know if they consult with child psychologists or the CV's have their own children.😆

I find her just very interesting these days. Cant figure her out. On the surface it does seem like she is hitting the right notes by taking up the cause of the poor unhappy child. Just not sure about the course though. Why does it have to be a big bang birthday party for the breakthrough?

Aarti's tenacity in following through is admirable, she doesnt seem like she has understood Palak's pain or for that matter, even Yash's. Palak is a child who has been let to make the impossibly big decision of not celebrating her birthday at all. So, she needs to be treated with a lot of care and baby steps..

@Aparna: Thanks. Yeah, the CVs have been a bit to-and-fro with aarti's character, but her basic traits have been kept consistent. I do think that Aarti has caught on Palak's pulse and what would get her out of this self-imposed rejection of a celebration that every kid looks out from the very day after the previous one. Arpita left her promising she will be back...on her birthday. Aarti is just playing the Replay card. Till the previous episode, even I was convinced that Yash and others had imposed their grief on her and made this day nonexistent for her. But Yash clearly said today that he never denied her a celebration...he just didn't override her wishes or made enough effort to convince her otherwise...he just respected her wishes. It was purely a guilt-ridden decision of an unhappy child who had gone into a depression after Arpita didn't come back (as per Vidhi)...a decision that the family didn't refute for the fear of doing further damage.

@redeye, your observation of Palak thawing toward Aarti despite herself is spot on but I think that is itself Aarti's strength - that Palak is thawing toward Aarti and not a doplleganger of Arpita. Whatever Palak remembers of her birth mother is probably several times over reinforced by the petrified Scindhias so we have a child who probably knows her mom more than Aarti does. I am sincerely hoping Aarti stays completely away from using Arpita as a crutch with the kids and Yash. Her strengths are obvious..she should just draw on those.

@Indu, I think the couple of traits that stayed consistent throughout have been how impulsive Aarti has been and a little over confident at times. These are both obvious strengths most of the time but when you are dealing with the kind of baggage thats at the Scindhias, maybe a change in tack is in order.

I just dont see Aarti spending too much time studying Palak at all other than latching on to this idea. Maybe she feels she has exhausted all other avenues and so needs a dramatic moment. I would have liked for her to make small improvements.

I wrote a bit about Yash on pg 19, do read it. I think he is in his own way trying to keep Palak's connection with her mom alive by letting Palak decide what she wants to do with her birthday.

@saf: Thanks. I loved your take...I always do. They are such neat and precise.
I am glad you pointed out about the glass of water...it had slipped my mind. Water is their element...their connector...their symbol of bonding.😳 😊

@Red: Superb, insightful analysis. Loved what you wrote about the drawing...the fact that Palak's resistance is clearly on the surface. Deep inside, like Yash, she too has taken to Aarti.

@Aparna...

I agree that it is all Aarti and has been Aarti throughout in fact. Even the bhajan scene- so what if she sang someone else's favorite song...a big woo. I never really bought into that nonsense about Aarti/Arpita and I was/am quite annoyed when they introduced it. Since then, I have been trying to wrap my mind around it,trying to see things from another's viewpoint, and wondering how everyone else seem to be getting it. 😆

I always felt that had the CVs left things well alone, everything would have chugged along just fine..

I do agree that Palak likely knows more about her mom than I gave her credit for in my take.

But when I said there was a chance of Aarti succeeding, what I had in mind was that, since this was going to be a theme party, there was more scope for drama, playacting and the like, without Palak having to have a face-to-face encounter with Aarti/Arpita. There might be masks involved, sound effects and things like that might give Palak just a hazy vision of Arpita. And Aarti is may be planning some sort of closure for Palak. And when the party ends and everyone return to their normal selves, Palak accepts Aarti as herself...

Through the four-month journey I don't remember disliking any episode, don't remember mocking the concept, don't remember finding any issue tackled as inane, and certainly don't remember feeling disheartened about anything.

@bold: If that is an immodest thought, then I'm joining you in that boat, Indu! That last sentence of the quoted portion above is one that applies to me as well.
By the way, love love love your post today! On the day that my Like button decides not to work specifically for your post, it just had to be after an Aarti-centric episode! How cruel! *disapproving face* Will try to see if it works later - I only tried 5 times just now *sigh*

After reading a lot of the takes I'm starting to feel that Arti is utilizing the trial and error method. It's a good method to figure out what needs to be done when she hits a road block. She should have a plan B if things go awry on Friday. Not just Plan B there should be a Plan C upto Z. I just hope she never gives up hope in trying to make a place for herself in this family which she has decided after that grand entrance she did a few episodes ago with dialogues that went "Ghar ek Mandir ho!"

And then when and if ever the divorce truth comes she can state that, look I always try to work on my relationships and have never given up on it. So what makes you think I asked for a divorce from Prashant. I was given divorce while I was against it. Also I've proven to you already that I do not want a divorce from you. I can't completely put a reset button to my life but I can always try to improve on what I'm dealt with.
