NO piyu never...it is no were written in our shastra that she should cover her head or face.our shastra tell us about sanskar. Even in valmiki's ramayan sitaji never used to cover her face or head.I know Valmiki ramayan is not as popular as tulsidas ramayan because it was written in sanskrit.YES tulsidasji of course mentioned that sitaji used to cover her head because it was written in the muslim period by tulsidasji....YES ..i agree with lakshmi women had more freedom at that time.

Rights like
1)even girls had to go to gurukuls.. if they wanted they cld learn using wepons
2)women had the freedom to choose their husband
3)eloping with her lover was not considered to be bad
4)men used to respect women a lot.... like i said before. the rape concept was not there in india.. like it was present in the greek civilisations.. or the middle east civilisation.. until the muslim invasion occured.
5)right to property..in hinduism.. women had to be given equal share of the property.. out of which 3/4 have to be given to her during her marriage and the rest 1/4 after her parent's death..
6)women were allowed to work.
7)the kids used to be known by their mother's name rather than father's.. like kaunteya- son of kunti
