Krishna got up from his seat.. "you ok?"

"yeah, ma'am is coming.." Krishna thought in his head so what let Preeti come he can deal with her..

"ok I better go then" Pratigya left his office quickly, she went from the other side of the hall so she could avoid Preeti, she quickly moved and went upstairs to Siya's room.. He sighed, this Preeti makes everyone feel so uncomfortable.. just then Preeti came through his door..

"Krishna I'm going now"

"yeah fine but when will you start behaving decently with people?"

"meaning.." she shut the door so no one heard them.

"meaning Ramu ,Pratigya Sangam all of them you treat them like..

"Servants?" He looked at her with a irritated look.

"that's because they are servants.. and Pratigya is no less she is a aya for Siya bas, what is her status she is a poor girl. Krishna smirked and shook his head at her nonsense.

"what?" she asked.. "you are unbelievable.. you just see people as a status, I have been in a wealthy upbringing never did my father tell me to treat people different he always said human beings are one.." Preeti just rolled her eyes.. "and you more than anyone should know what status means..

"what you saying, just say clearly!

"what so in a year and a half you already forgot? He was amused.

"I don't know what your talking about.." Preeti didn't want speak of it.

"don't forget you, yourself are from a basti background"

"Krishna don't you dare!"

"Preeti I'm not scared of you.. so what if someone hear's me. What will you do?"

"don't underestimate me, you know what I am capable of."

"you say it like its something to be proud of, you treat people like crap, and think of yourself as this queen, your just a gold digging bi... " Ramu came in with a tray..

" Saab you wanted 2 teas and biscuits?"

"Haan just leave it here on the side table" Ramu did just that and quietly left the office. Pratigya came down with the baby monitor in her hand, Siya was still asleep. She walked closer and was heading towards his office direction, she bumped into Ramu on the way.

"Beta I wouldn't go in there just yet?"

"why?"

"well chote saab and memsaab are having some disagreement"

"oh" oh god I hope its not due to my cheque issue.. she walked back slowly..

"don't bring Siya into it, she is nothing to do with you"

"well to the society she is, and Krishna don't forget I know your past secret if anyone came to know you would lose all respect in every aspect of your status and I know how much you love your status" he sighed in anger.

"and you love it, you love taking digs at my past.. but my past isn't nearly as colourful as yours, so darling if you were to even utter a word I would make sure the whole world knew yours.. and how is Sanjay by the way, still begging you to run away with him.. Krishna taunted.

"Leave Sanjay out of it.. he is nothing to do with this.. your just bitter because you had to leave your precious girlfriend back in USA when you were forced to marry me what was her name again?

"Elena?.. yah sweet girl but she was just fun I never loved her in that way we were just study buddies, I know what your trying to do it won't work"

"I don't know what your talking about.." she looked the other way.

"well you can't compare my little fling with Elena with your relationship with Sanjay. Preeti was quiet, her words were just failing.

"Face it Preeti Sanjay has been the only love of your life.. and me well I haven't fallen for anyone to make them a life partner.. so if anyone is going get hurt emotionally by well any of this its you."

"Krishna please don't do anything to Sanjay you know how I feel for him.."

"well then I suggest you stop this behaviour of yours and we get a separation you can go to Sanjay and I will just live my life as normal with my business " Preeti nodded..

"ok fine" Krishna was shocked to hear that answer.

"ok fine?

"Yeah fine I will stop come clean about my past give you back your share of the business , but not before I destroy you."

"you are already in charge of Siya's savings they would set you for life, you already have 20% stake in Raizada enterprises .. Preeti ignored him because she knew just how much it irritated him.

"I want 70% think about it.. have a good day" she left his office mockingly.

"damn it" Krishna banged his hands on the table in frustration.. his conversation with Preeti usually went like this, but everytime ended with the same conclusion, they were in this rut their relationship was just a sham but to society it was real.' She wants 70% she's out of her bloody mind' Krishna sat down in his chair with his hands on his head, just trying to calm himself down, he just gathered his thoughts.. and then sat back straightening his blazer. He got up from his seat and took the tray, he took a sip of his tea but it was luke warm.. He opened the door and saw Pratigya there.

"Tea has gone cold, I will just be a sec wait there" he passed her and went into the hall. Pratigya stood waiting for him from a distance she could see him talking to Ramu, and Krishna smiled about something then patted Ramu on the shoulder and he went into the kitchen. Pratigya stood at the same spot, she watched him walk back to her.

"hmm come sit" he waved her to go in the room, she went and then he followed.

"Siya is asleep still.. that's why I'm.

"Hey Pratigya I'm not Preeti you don't have to justify yourself to me"

"hmm" she replied once again he encourage her to take a seat. She sat down putting the baby monitor on his desk, there was silence in the room.

"Pratigya yesterday the way I spoke to you I didn't mean it sorry i..

"no sir don't apologise you're my boss you can speak to me any way.. Krishna smirked and thought what a difference there is between girls like Pratigya and then woman like Preeti.. Pratigya seems so pure hearted and Preeti... he sighed.

"yah I am your boss but still you are a person besides just Siya's babysitting you are your own person. Pratigya was surprise with his words, she painted people who are rich as narrow minded and judgemental but Krishna sir just seems different.

"so Pratigya tell me how was... Pratigya got distracted she never looked at anything apart from Siya her eyes scanned his office then she got up.. with a smile she went to his book self on the left side.

"wow all these books yours?" Krishna smiled and got up too.. he walked over to her.

"yup I'm a big book lover"

"me too.." said Pratigya.

"but I don't have a nearly as this I mean I have read a lot but..

"if you want you can borrow them from me anytime" they shared a smile, she went a bit quiet, she didn't know why.

"so what's your favourite author?" she already had her favourite.

"John Green" they said in unison"

"wow yours too?" she said to Krishna

"yah he is a damn awesome writer" I usually read his books when I'm on the plane or at some free time, I love to read... Pratigya was amazed that business man Krishna sir and her both have a love for books, she was always reading but her circle of friends never really took to books except Gauri she liked to read but she wasn't a book worm like her. Me and Krishna like the same author, that's too good.

"have you read The Fault in Our Stars?"

"that is his latest book?"

"yeah"

"no I haven't"

"oh you must its really well written and really makes you think... Krishna words trailed of his laptop started beeping.

"just one sec.. he tapped her arm for a nano second as you do when your comfortable with someone.. the beeping increased he rushed over to his desk.

"video conference now.. its meant to be later.." he mumbled to himself.. just then the baby monitor went off and at the same time Ramu came with the tray again. He placed it on the desk, Pratigya picked up the monitor, and Ramu left them shutting the door behind him.

"Siya's awake duty calls.." said Pratigya.

"hmm and I have to take this.." he said he really didn't want to he actually felt a ease and a relaxing feeling came over him when talking with her.. but he had to finalise a deal.

"ok but take your tea with you and have up there if you want anything else to eat feel free"

"ok thanks" they exchanged a friendly smile and then he attended his video conference and she took her tea and went to see to, to Siya. Again Krishna's meetings became extremely busy, today Preeti came early but she just went upstairs.. Pratigya was leaving to go home.. Krishna saw her passed and gestured with a finger to wait.

He was on a phone call..it seemed long distance, after a few seconds her waved her to come in.. she did so. He walked up to the bookshelf and from the very top he pulled a book out.

"yeah but how much are they saying... hmmm..hmm he commented on the phone. Pratigya stood quietly.. and he handed her the book. "here" She smiled as she saw the title it was John Green's latest addition.

"thanks" she whispered. He put a thumbs up and mouthed. "See you tomorrow" she nodded.

"yeah but that's what I'm saying Mr Tai in the market... his voice trailed off as Pratigya walked out of his office. She looked at the book I always wanted to read this book' she was excited to start it, today had been a good day, she smiled to herself. Krishna got off the phone, he just found himself at ease, it was so great to talk to someone about a common interest he was a Harvard return with a MBA but the other side of him loved to read books and to share that interest with Pratigya made him happy it made a change from having arguments with Preeti. Pratigya's she's interesting and its nice to have a common interest he smiled

Pratigya sat down with her group of friends the cinema hall was getting full..

her phone went off .. she didn't recognised the number.

"hello"

"Hello Pratigya its Krishna"

"Sir hi um.."

"listen I need someone to look after Siya.. for maximum 3 hrs"

"today?"

"yeah I know you don't work weekends but.. Preeti is out of town and.. I need to go for the meeting.. I'm a little desperate I don't want to spoil your plans.. there was a brief second a silence.

"uhh you know what this isn't fair me telling you at such short notice, don't worry I will work something out.

"no Krishna sir its fine don't worry I'm coming"

"Pratigya thank you thank you you're a life saver"

"ok will be there in a few minutes" she smiled and then cut the call. She got up to leave her seat..

"what's up? sit down the movie is about to start"

"Ayush I have to go to work"

"what?"
