I just saw the clip, so thanks for the link KCM. I skipped quite a lot as I wanted to see AB's bit, so the following is sketchy.
The interviewer, Anna, is acutally very intelligent, but I think the cast should have been better prepared.....it looked me like Anna is used to asking hard Qs, but the the cast came thinking they will be asked the usual soft Qs. SS, aka AS, came to the rescue a few times as PG, PS and AB were stumped.
I do agree, that Anna should have not put them on the spot by asking about the motivations of the characters, that she should ask the Writers or the creator.
She started of asking PS aka Komal and PG about working long hours, PS said they work 12hours, PG said it was more but they protested and so hours got reduced to 12 hr shift. Anna said are you not worried about burning out, PG said as it is my first lead show I want to do well, shine above all the rest.
Then Anna went into her hard Q. She asked PS about Komal's behaviour, that society thinks (this I did not understand) that perhaps bahu's should be kept under control, so her behaviour with the Saxes showed this but the Saxes were always polite, Anna said this is illogical (I'm sorry but why and what did she mean? both PG and PS were silent, a bit lost I guess). Anyway, PG answered saying what they were trying to show was komal coming from this uneducated family is like this, so the saxes showing in their own way what is right. PS then said Komal treated like a boy by her father, so when she came to the saxes, she wanted to rule....but then they showed her that it doesn't have to be like that and etc.
I must say I skipped, some more PG just went on and one, she can't seem to give short answers... PG was asked about make up and looks of theirs, said people expected certain looks on TV so they had to follow that. Indicated the Sari she wore sayiing it is her night sari. PS talked about her looks, said it is slowly changing in the show, didn't like her look at all in the beginning.
Then AS and AB came on......AB was asked about his kurta, said it was his sleep attire. Anna said doesn't the design hurt when sleeping, AB said it is only for a 10 min shot.....(he came across as really shy and sweet).
Then Anna asked one hardhitting question. She asked when ANgad kidnapped P, why did P spend time trying to prove her innocence to Krishna? why didn't she ask why are yoou blaming me?....All of them went quiet. It was quite uncomfortable to watch. PS saying that Krishna comes from an uneducated family, so he will need prove because they are like that but as he loved P he should have trusted her. The others AS and AB also say a word here and there, AS saying it is the thinking. Anna again repeated her Qs. Then PG answeres, very long and rambling about society's expectation, ram and sita, and etc....honestly, my answer would be: she tried to prove because she loved K, couldn't bear to see him in pain and because she wanted to try to save her marriage!!! - this Q should have been put to the writers or creator (but a well prepared actor could have answered).
AS came to teh rescue, I think he quoted something and the others all looked relieved. But Anna wasn't letting go, she said why didn't P say ' even if he had touched me, what is my fault?'..again everyone silent. Then AS made everyone laugh by saying 'They have a romance, their thinking' and etc...meaning Kriya.......anyway, Anna let go and started reading out some veiwer Qs like PG: how long does it take to get your make up done? 15 min. Then what educational Q do kriya have? K 5th fail, P gradute. Then would AB in rela life support his wife like that? he said first I would not let her get in such sitution but if it happens then yes. (wow I like that!đł)
Then Anna asked AS a Q. There was a track where P wanted to help K educate, PG said 'that's right'. Anna asked AS as SS will he support K becoming educated? AS said 'the age for education is gone." So Anna said does that mean SS won't support...AS said 'yes'...
Then Anna thanked them for joining her.
