I don't understand all this hierarchy...Why do you need to call him aap? I don't even understand why the women have to serve the men at the dining table and wait for them to finish and then eat. What is wrong will putting all the food on the table and everyone serves themselves and eat together?? Krishna pass the aaloo gopi??? What is wrong with this???

I never understood the dining room thing either also why must the women serve the food to the men even if everything is right in front of them? They have hands why can't they just get it themselves it's on the table seriously 😕

I do not think it is important.
Akshara and Naitik both call each other aap which sounds nice.
Respect should be mutual on both sides. If there is none on one side, there should be none on the other side as well.

I know, n the tele shows just encourage this thing! Lucky me, in our house, my father doesn't eat unless n until my mom sits with us!

I just don't like it how Prats n Kesar keep standing behind their husbands to serve them as if they are babies 😆

Infact, on the day of Karwa chauth, my father too keeps a fast for my mom n still insists that she starts eating first!!! I'm so glad to have such a dad! 😊

and I don't think it is degrading to call your loved one 'tum', other than if the concerned person is elder to you as in parents or grannies or similar...
calling 'tum' doesn't show the lack of respect as far as I know!

Binny, I totaly agree with you. We should respect each other and should be equals. My husband and I call each other by our first names. Is the custom of women serving men still followed. I havenot seen this till my sister go married.and then agaiat my in-laws. Growing up we all ate togeher. And we do the same at home. But this does upset my in-laws since they think I should serve him. Thankfully my husband supports me on these issues.

No way! I don't even understand the whole theory of 'aap' and 'tum!' They should do what I would do and say 'Oi You!' whilst chucking my shoe at him in order to get his attention. 🤣

I am not married by the way so don't actually think I do throw my shoes at people. 🤣
