the docotr took out the thermometer frm krishna's mouth and checked his temperature....he looked concerned....
pratigya-----kya hua doctorsaab bukhar kitna hain?
doctor----103....
pratigya---kya? itna zyaada temp? par kaise?
doctor----well mujhe to lagta hain viral fever hain.....aisa hi hota hain viral fevers...bht jald bht zyaada temp uth jata hain......par tum chinta mat karo...he will be fine....main ek injection de raha hun..usse wo shayad thk ho jayega...aur haan kuch dawai bhi likhkar de raha hun.....
pratigya nodded....and took the prescription...... then she said----chaliye main aapko bahar tak chod deti hun...
the doctor---nhi uski zaroorat nhi hain...hum khud chale jayenge..bas tum ye karo ki tum in dawai on ko jald se jald mangwalo....
pratigya----main abhi mangwati hun......
the doctor pushed an injection on krishna's arm....he hardly seemed to notice as he was almost senseless......
pratigya took out a five hundred ruppee note and handed it to the doctor. she had sold her ring for a thousand bucks...----doctorsaab....aapka fees....
the doctor---thnks..... he went out.....
pratigya glanced at krishna.......he lay on his bed... eyes closed.... she came over to him and said-----krishna....main thodi der mein aa rahi hun...tumhara dawai lekar......
he did nt reply.... she sighed and went out.......

pratigya had nvr cared or looked after any sick person before... wenevr she was sick..her loving mother used to attend her and look after her... nvr did she have to do anythng on her own and same was the case with aarushi...wenevr she was ill,naina ji looked after her too.....
therefore the ned of pratigya's help in anythng was nvr required.... pratigya only knew one thng abt becoming sick....and that is----if u feel sick go to the doctor have medicine and then u will feel good......
bt here,in this case,,,evrythng seemed to go wrong... krishna's fever was nt coming down.. pratigya had given him the medicines in ryt time....bt she didnt know any better..... she didnt know that if the fever does nt come down u need to rub wet towel or put icebag on the patient's forehead...she was nt aware of these thngs at all.... she just sat there watching him groan and suffer......
pratigya checked his temperature......it was 102.6
she put her hand on his forehead...it was dry and so hot.......
pratigya tried to talk to him--------krishna tum sun rahe ho? kya tum pehle se behtar feel kar rahe ho? krishna plzz........jawab do na.......
krishna tried to open his eyes--------hmm....
pratigya----krishna tum batao na main kya karu? mujhe kuch samajh mein nhi aa rahi hain...... dawai to maine de di hain...fir kyun tumhara bukhar kam nhi ho raha hain? krishna kuch to bolo.....
krishna felt sorry for her.. he was nt in a state to do thngs on his own and neither cud he talk to her properly..... wen previously he used to get ill...there was nobody to look after him and he had nvr called a doctor.. he used to lay on the bed for a couple of days and get well on his own....
bt pratigya was a vry sweet grl....he knew it that she wud nt be able to see him in such a state....he wanted to make her happy...he wanted to show her that he was fine....and nothing had happened to him.....
he tried to get up.... pratigya became anxious at once-------kya kar rahe ho tum? so jao... tumhe aaram ki zaroorat hain.....chup chap lete raho......
in spite of his cndition..krishna felt like smiling at her wrds..... she was so immatured yet so concerned......bt he obeyed her...he lied down agen....
pratigya----kyun uth rahe the tum? pagal ho kya? tum mujhe batao na tumhe kya chahiye..main lekar aati hun......batao mujhe plzzz....
krishna took her hand,wich was kept on his forehead in his and said------hume kuch bhi nhi chahiye.....tum plzzz aab chup ho jao aur hume sone do........
he closed his eyes,still holding pratigya's hand.........
pratigya was cnfused...she didnt understand wat he meant.......
she stared at him.....he did nt seem all ryt.....
suddenly she realised it----aha!!! krishna ko shayad pani chahiye......
she said------krishna....tumhe pani chahiye? main pani laun?
he opened his eyes and looked angrilly at her..........now pratigya understood.....
ooopsss sry----she said------tum so jao so jao...aab main bilkul tumhe dsturb nhi karungi....ekdumm chup rahungi.......so jao tum.... she put her finger on her lips to make him sure that she wud keep her wrd.....
krishna smiled and suddenly tilted on his side and put his arm around her waist...and placed his head on her lap..... he tried to make himself more comfor table and huddled closer to her...... then he closed his eyes....without saying anythng......
at frst pratigya didnt know wat to do.......she felt awkward and uneasy,no doubt... she had nvr been so close to anyone before...nt evn her boyfrnd nitin...... and this promixity made her somewhat tensed..... she was nt comfortable with it.... she stared at krishna....he looked so innocent and sweet as he slept....... pratigya bit her lower lip.... she slowly tried to push him away bt he held her quite tightly.......
unable to do anythng...she sat there stiffly.........

krishna's temperature had at last reached below 100.. it was a big relief for pratigya too as she was once agen out of her duties.... during this period she had felt so helpness as she didnt know at all wat to do to make his temperature come down.....
it was morning and krishna sat on his bed...munching a sandwhich....that also had been over---toasted... pratigya was nt evn good in household wrk..... pratigya was in the kitchen...making tea.....
suddenly krishna heard pratigya's mobile ringing...... he called out to her----pratigya tumhara fon!!!
pratigya---hm...aati hun ek minute.....
she came out hurriedly...... she was too excited as in the last few days noone had called her.... she glanced at the name flashing on her screen and krishna cud make out pretty well that her facial expression changed at once... it became as bright as the summer sun......
she picked it up-----bhaiya???????
krishna's facial expression changed too bt it became as dark as the cloudy sky.......
adarsh's voice echoed into pratigya';s ears-----kaisi ho tum?
tears came to her eyes-----bhaiya.......she cudnt cntrol herself and burst into tears......
adarsh-----pratigya....kya baat hain? tum thk to ho na? tum ro kyun rahi ho?
pratigya---ek min bhaiya.....
she eyed at krishna...he pretended as if he was nt listening....and cntinued munching..... pratigya walked into the kitchen with the fon.....
pratigya------bhaiya...aap kahan ho? mujhe aapki kitniiii yaad ati hain.......aap sab ki......
adarsh----pratigya pehle tum batao....TUM ho kaha? maine tumhe kitni baar fon karne ki koshish ki par tumhara fon lage tab na...kahan ho tum? main tumse milna chahta hun......
pratigya struggled with her emotions-------bhaiya....main nhi janti main kahan hun...bas main......main......krishna ke saath reh rahi hun....mujhe jagah ka naam nhi pata hain.....bas itna pata hain ki ye ek chawl hain.....aur hamare ghar se kafi door hain....
adarsh-----chawl mein? tum chawl mein reh rahi ho? pagal ho kya? us krishna se shaadi kyun ki tumne? jo tumhara thk tarah se dekhbhal bhi nhi kar skta? pratigya wo tumhe kabhi khush nhi rakh payega.....tum chod do use...aur ghar wapas aa jao...pratigya tum sun rahi ho na?
pratigya---haan...haan..... bhaiya......main sun rahi hun...bhaiya main bhi aapse milna chahti hun.......bht zaroori baat karni hain aapse....
adarsh----thk hain tum ek kam karo....hamare ghar ke paas jo coffee shop hain na? wahan tum aj sham ko 7.30 baje mujhse milo...wahi baithkar baat karenge....
pratigya---thk hain bhaiya.....main aa jaungi....
she put down the phone and sighed.... she felt really happy....
aab sabkuch thk ho joyega---she thot-------aab sabkuch firse pehle ki tarah ho jayega......
she didnt notice that krishna stood there at the kitchen door........ he had heard the whole conversation....... his jaws were tight and as he stared at pratigya,he made a firm resolution to himself-----aab pratigya hume chodkar nhi ja sakti........hum use nhi jane denge........ woh hamari zindagi hain....aur hum apni zindagi ko apne aap se dur hone nhi denge......
