The Inspiring Tale of Superwoman Sundari!

Have you ever wondered whatever happened to Sundari after the Deshmukhs' flip-flopping back to Canada?

It is an inspiring story of a single woman, which PR doesn't want you to know because it is squarely at odds with the ideals of rona-dhona set up for women in the show!

But it has been recently dug up by one of her secret admirers and so here it is!

When the Deshmukhs packed up their bags to return to their palace in Canada wrapping up all business related things in a record two week period, Sundari really did not want to go with them! But Savita retorted, "How can you refuse to come? Who will drag my bags at the airport?"

Finally Sundari relented and went to Canada with the Deshmukhs!

A month after they settled in Canada, one afternoon the doorbell rang; and Sundari answered it. There was a dashing young Indian man standing at the door with a huge smile on his face! He asked for Ovi. Sundari said she did not live there anymore. The man started crying hysterically. Fortunately, Purvi, Teju, Sachin, and Manav were at work. Archana was in the kitchen teaching the newly-wed Sachin's wife how to make kanda pohe a la chawl style. Damodar was snoring after drinking his fifth glass of wine since the morning. And Sulo and Savita were taking their beauty naps.

Sundari asked the young man, "What happened? Why are you crying?" The man explained that he was a modeling agent and as per his last conversation with Ovi six months ago, he had submitted her portfolio to many ad agencies. He had come to give her the good news that a multi-million beauty product company had selected her for their ad. He also revealed that he had actually taken a big advance from the company without consulting Ovi if she wanted to do the job and had splurged it all. So, now he was in big trouble! Sundari, being a sensitive soul, went to the kitchen and without disturbing Archana and Sachin's wife put a glass of orange juice on a tray.

As she was walking back to the living room with tray in her hands, a la Indian style marriage interviews, the agent had an epiphany! He saw in her person solutions to all his problems! As soon as Sundari came near him, he fell on his knees and asked with a file in his hands, "Will you be my model?"

Startled, Sundari could not understand at first what he was doing. But when she did realize what he was saying she was on the seventh cloud! She immediately said yes! The agent thought, "Ovi has natural beauty and poise, I did not have to do anything for her! It was easy money. But what can I do now? I will just have to find new ways and work hard for my new model. Oh well, that is life!"

The man gave Sundari his card and told her the place to meet the next day! Sundari decided to run away at night without telling anyone! But Damu the dog had heard the entire conversation!

He said to Sundari, "You have to take me along! I don't want to be the only one taking the beating from Savita after you leave."

Sundari said, "How can I? I do not even have a home."

Damu the dog said, "I don't care. If you refuse, I will start barking when you leave."

Sundari said, "Ok baba, I will take you with me. Just don't make any noise."

So, that night Sundari and Damu the dog ran away. The agent had been able to buy some time from the beauty product company for finding a replacement for Ovi. But he had quickly found several assignments for commercials of dish-washing liquids and Indian masalas for Sundari, from whom he would demand 30% commission.

The rest is a tale of success and fame. Sundari did not care what products she was modeling for. She did her work with her benchmark gusto and energy. She succeeded like no other masala model. She was the Supermodel for superhot masalas! She was thriving and she was happy.

Damu the dog also had a sudden turn in his career! Once, when he was strutting around on a shooting location wagging his tail, a dog breeder saw him. He was so impressed that he made an instant offer to Sundari to take the dog to a dog show. Lo and behold! Damu the dog won all the competitions! He became a super dog model; winning dog shows one after the other like no one's business!

After a long and distinguished career, Damu the dog sadly passed away. But he left six brilliant descendants behind.

Sundari too retired after a successful career of fifteen years. With wise investments, she bought a small house in a small town in the Caribbean. There she lives with her six dog models in comfort and style. She even won "the most independent woman of the town" award a couple of years ago. And since she knows all the age-defying secrets from her days with Savita, she has a thriving business selling related products.

You might wonder how come Savita did not go after her. In fact, she did start screaming and crying when she discovered that Sundari had run away taking Damu the dog along. But after half an hour she thought, "Well, I needed her before when I was alone. But now I have so many women in the house to boss over. Why do I need her? Let her go." She never uttered Sundari's name again and let her prosper.

So friends, this is the inspiring tale of Sundari the Superwoman that PR does not want you to know.
