Great post Rima. As a watched Paro's name being chosen and her wedding being announced. I dreaded it's outcome as I know that she will be left as a widow of a man that she did not know and may never know. My parents got an arranged marriage and her family chose her groom. She agreed to marry my father and they have been married for a quarter of a century now. There are some good and bad moments between them but I always wondered what would have been the outcome of a loved marriage. All my relatives and family friends have had an arranged marriage, even my friend. It's been a custom that has been practiced for all my life and even I wonder whether I will have an arranged marriage or not. I've known of some marriages that have worked but some have not. I suppose as long as you get a trusting, faithful, loving and understanding life partner all will be well.

I agree with you
not only your family, many of mine too including my parents had arranged marriages.

The saddest part is in such marriages is that people have no choice right from the word go

They are stuck with life partners they never chose
and suffer in silence even if things are bad

Yes I know about Rajasthan
But rest of India especially some places like Bihar, MP, UP and remote areas of south are extremely regressive

Bang on Post.. Brought tears to my eyes.. Hope people learn from such shows
And Sanaya is conveying the emotions so brilliantly with her expressions. Shy , reserved , soft spoken and at the same time so excited about the marraige , a new life with her husband.I am hoping Rudra will be her protector , her saviour.
