~Chapter 6 - Sharing a growing bond~

During the class, the teacher went on explaining the students the various methods of drawing and presenting their designs. Some listened to her attentively while some were busy in their own world. The teacher was glancing at each and every student from time to time, but her attention was mainly on Khushi.

"Your name is Khushi?"

The teacher, Miss Juliet curiously asked.

"Yes Ma'am"

Khushi replied, felling a little awkward, of being pointed out from the whole class.

"Meet me after the class."

Miss Juliet ordered, to which Khushi nodded obediently.

"Khushi has gone to meet Miss Juliet"

Arnav said, while he, Aakash and Payal sat in the canteen during the break.

"Yeah, I hope Khushi gets released by her soon" Payal said, "She can't remain hungry for long."

"She hasn't eaten anything since morning"

Arnav said, with a friendly concern.

Aakash brought the food for three of them, which they ate hungrily.

"Aakash?" Arnav called for him, as they went to the parking area to go back home.

"Yeah?" Aakash answered.

"Aren't you dropping Payal home?"

"No no. She had come on her scooty, and so she is going home on her scooty only."

"Oh.. Do you know whether Khushi has left with her or not?''

"I don't think so, Arnav. Payal left alone only."

"Then where is Khushi?"

Arnav asked, panic forming inside him.

"I thought she was with you."

"She was with me till our last class but after that I don't know where she was."

Arnav said, in a panicky voice.

"Don't worry yaar. She must have gone home. Just call Auntie and ask whether Khushi is at home"

"I can't call.. Auntie is not at home. She has gone to her son's house for meeting him."

Arnav said, helplessly.

"You go home Arnav. I'm sure she must be at home only."

"Ok.. I'm leaving"

"Call me when you find her."

"I will." Arnav said and hurriedly went to his bike.

Arnav opened the door with the spare key he had.

"Khushi?" He yelled.

"Khushi?" He called for her again.

He checked the ground floor and climbed up the stairs to check her room.

As soon as he opened the door of her room, the sight made him sigh in relief. Khushi was there! But not in normal state? He could hear her sobs. 'Crying?' He thought.

Khushi was seated in the floor, her back leaning on the bed. Her knees hugged her chest and her face was dig into her knees with her hair all messed up.

"Khushi? Whats wrong?"

Arnav asked, stepping forward and kneeling in front of her.

Khushi looked up and immediately clung onto him and started sobbing loudly.

Arnav wrapped his arms around her protectively and caressed her back to relax her.

"Khushi tell me what happened?"

Arnav asked, in a concerned voice.

"Khushi? Speak up yaar, what's wrong?

Did someone say you something?"

Khushi moved slightly backwards and wipe a tear off her cheek.

"Now tell me. What happened? Why did you come home early? And why are you crying?"

"Arnav!" Khushi exclaimed and hugged him again.

"Khushi you are making me worried. C'mon yaar tell me.."

"I'm hungry, Arnav!"

Khushi said softly.

"What?"

She parted from the hug and repeated, "I'm hungry, Arnav"

"And that is the reason you are crying?"

Khushi nodded her head positively.

"Are you mad?" Arnav said, feeling irritated.

"I didn't eat anything since morning. You said that the food which I made was not good, so I didn't even eat a single bite. Then we were getting late for our class, so I didn't eat at that time too. Then during the break, Miss Juliet called me for some work, so I didn't had time to eat. After that, I had to search for a book in the library, so I went there. I am too hungry now, Arnav. I came home in hope that I would find something at home, but no! I didn't. Auntie also went to her son's house straight from the grain market. And now I'm dying from hunger."

Khushi explained her whole day to him, in between her sniffs and sobs.

"OK.. OK.. Don't cry.. Get up from the floor and sit on the bed... I'll get something for you. Tell me, what would you like to eat."

Arnav said in a comforting voice, making her sit on the bed.

"Bring me a pizza from domino's, and grilled cheese sandwich, and shahi pulao with shahi paneer, and dal makhani with butter naan, and don't forget the dessert, oreo ice-cream from Mc. Donalds and moong halwa also. Bring any cold drink with it. I think that will be sufficient for now."

Khushi went on explaining her food-list to Arnav, while Arnav rapidly shifted his gaze from her face to her tummy back to her face, with mouth-opened.

"Will you eat all this?"

Arnav asked, letting out a shocked gasp.

"Of course, Arnav. I said na that I'm very hungry."

"But I will the half of it"

Arnav said straightaway.

"Haww.. You didn't eat during the break?"

"I ate but now I am feeling hungry yaar."

"No I will not share it" Khushi said, stubbornly, "Now you go and bring all this"

"You suck Khushi!"

"NOW GO!" said Khushi irritatedly.

"Thank you Arnav."

Khushi said when Arnav gave her the packets of her order.

Arnav pouted and looked on the other side, pretending to be angry at her.

"You can have some."

Khushi said hesitatingly, when she looked at the quantity of food she ordered.

"OK. Lets start eating,"

Arnav said, turning back to her, while rubbing his palms against one another and inhaling the delicious smell of the food.

They started eating, and occasionally fed each other. Their friendship was definitely growing!

"Umm.. It was delicious!"

Khushi moaned after eating the last spoon of the ice-cream.

"Yes it was!"

Arnav said, while letting out a small burp.

"My tummy is full"

"Mine too"

"I think I need a walk, Arnav" Khushi said, while clutching her tummy, "Lets go to the beach. Moreover, I haven't seen the beach as yet.."

"Yeah. Lets go" Arnav said, "I'll be back in a minute."

"Ok!"

This was the sixth chapter. I know this was really short, but I just wanted to show the beach part in a separate chapter. How many of you are waiting for some romance? You'll get in the next chapter. 😳
