Is Priyanka Chopra circling back to Sanjay Leela Bhansali? Here’s what’s brewing

Priyanka Chopra's latest Instagram post a throwback to her 2013 dance number Ram Chahe Leela from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela has triggered speculation that her Bollywood hiatus may soon end. It wasn't just a nostalgia-laced memory; it came with a detailed, emotive caption that stood out for its tone and timing. “When Sanjay Sir came to me with this song, it was a complicated decision, but he, as a filmmaker, has always inspired me,” Chopra wrote. “His creative mind, his nostalgic stories usually over incredible food, the conversations of art and music to dance… the beauty of the yesteryears but also what the future holds. And then he played the song… and I knew I was her.”

She also remembered her work with choreographer Vishnu Deva and cinematographer Ravi Varman, crediting the collaborative atmosphere on Bhansali's sets. “Under Sanjay sir’s guidance, Ravi Varman’s cinematography shone, and Vishnu Deva’s choreography was magic. Him and I would rehearse during lunch breaks every day to perfect the dance sequences. This brings back such great memories.”

Chopra, who relocated to the US in 2015, has been largely absent from Hindi cinema. Apart from The Sky Is Pink (2019), her focus has been international — spanning series, films, and business ventures. The post, however, seemed to hint at something more than fond reflection.

According to a source cited by Hindustan Times, the timing wasn’t accidental. Talks are reportedly underway for Priyanka to feature in a special number in Bhansali’s upcoming period drama Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. While there’s no official confirmation yet, insiders suggest the Instagram tribute could be a soft signal of things to come.

If the collaboration materialises, it would mark her return to mainstream Bollywood with a filmmaker who helped create one of her most widely remembered dance performances. For fans and industry watchers alike, this potential reunion is being watched closely both for its artistic implications and its nostalgic pull.
