Parineetii: Paras Kalnawat, Aanchal Sahu's 'consummation' sparks debate; 'How are they getting away doing'

Parineetii that stars Anchal Sahu and Paras Kalnawat in lead roles is facing some flak. The serial with its theme of two women falling in love, and being betrayed by the same men has got more criticism than love in past few months. Now, we saw how Aditya (Paras Kalnawat) saves the life of Preet (Anchal Sahu). We saw how Preet and Aditya were chased by goons. The two jump into a waterfall from the edge of a cliff. The goons assume they are dead. Aditya takes Preet to a hut where she is shivering. Fearing for her life, he gets intimate to keep her warm.

This is not the first Indian TV show or film to have this angle. However, fans have become more aware of things like mutual consent in intimacy irrespective of the gender. Also, this whole idea of having intercourse to beat hypothermia is not logical. They said that people can warm up hands and legs of the person than going this way. The fact that romantic edits were made of the same has disgusted people even more. People have asked what is the message Indian TV wants to send out. There also said this was done more decently in other shows like Jodhaa Akbar, Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, Dill Mil Gaye and others. They said this is not only illogical but kind of sexual assault. As we know, getting intimate with someone who is not fully conscious is a crime. Some also said the show was problematic since a long time but things keep on getting worse. Also, romantic edits on such sequences are kind of baffling as people do not seem to understand what they’re romanticizing.
