TV czarina Ekta Kapoor, who has teamed up with STAR Plus for her new show "Ye Hai Mohabbatein", hopes to create the same magic with the entertainer that she had done with her past shows on the channel.
The show marks the return of popular TV stars Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel in lead roles.
"My association with Star goes back a long way. We have together celebrated many successes and created iconic characters through generations. I look forward to working with them closely on this show and I am sure that the viewers will accept Ishita and Raman (characters of new show) into their families, Ekta of Balaji Telefilms, said in a statement.
Ekta has earlier produced hit shows like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki' for the channel.
'Ye Hai Mohabbatein' is an urban story of two Delhi-based neighbours - Iyers and Bhallas, who have a conflict prone relationship. But things take an interesting twist when the Iyers' dentist daughter Ishita and the Bhallas' businessman son Raman find themselves attracted to one another.
The show goes on air on December 3.
It also brings together veteran artists like Neena Kulkarni, Abhay Bhargav, Kaushal Kapoor, Shenaz Rizwan and Ruhanika Dhawan in pivotal characters.
Talking about the show, Gaurav Banerjee, general manager, STAR Plus, said: "We are delighted to partner with Ekta once again. The story she has brought to us is urban and contemporary.
"This love story begins after a marriage gets over. It explores the theme of a second chance in love. With well etched characters and a strong urban narrative, the show deals with day-to-day issues faced by modern couples. We are positive that our metro audiences will see a connect with Ishita and Raman and follow their story."
TV actress Divyanka Tripathy is happy to be back on telly with the forthcoming daily soap 'Ye Hai Mohabbatein'. She plays a Tamilian in it and says she fell in love with the character immediately.
"It's a huge pleasure that Ekta Kapoor chose me for the serial," Divyanka told reporters on Thursday at the launch of the show. She added that she accepts a show only when she "falls in love with the character".
"When I came to know about this show, heard the narration and of course, Balaji (and its association with it), I had to step into this venture," said the actress, who became popular with the daily soap "Banoo Main Teri Dulhann".
'Ye Hai Mohabbatein', based on the novel 'Custody' by Manju Kapoor, traces the journey of a married businessman and a Tamilian girl Ishita, who becomes very fond of the former's child.
Although, in between, Divyanka tried her hand at comedy but she really missed daily soaps.
"I was dying to come back to daily soaps again. Although I did comedy for quite sometime because I wanted to explore something different, I was waiting for something different, something new," said Divyanka, who was seen in a lighter role in 'Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale'.
Divyanka said she will speak Tamil in 'Ye Hai Mohabbatein', but without any lingo.
"I learn't some specific words on the set. But as the story will progress. I will speak Tamil, but there will be no lingo," she said.
'Ye Hai Mohabbatein' will go on air on December 3 on Star Plus. It also features Karan Patel.
