Ramleela would not have worked if kareena was in it. Firstly it would not have had as much buzz because kareena doesn't have the star power deepika has now.

Also because she would look so weird and out if place with ranveer.

And more than anything, after watching ramleela I can never imagine kareena doing the role of leela! I mean kareena just would not have been able to do what deepika did, like the dancing, cheeky expressions, he intimacy with ranveer and the dialogue delivery. Deepika spoke very well in a gujju accent, something I can't imagine kareena doing.

forget about ram leela and worry about your own Gori Tere Pyar Mein, she wouldn't have looked right with Ranveer anyway and the movie might not have worked as well as it did or wouldn't have been as successful tbh. Deepika is in high demand these days and it was DP-Ranveer's chemistry that made Ram Leela...
