I think the makers are attempting to show through Sanchi's story what we wanted to see in Gauri's story.
But alas Sanchi is no Gauri and even if Sanchi is no Gauri if the actress playing Sanchi was good the story would have been watchable.
Gauri was rejected by Jagya and Singh family in childhood.They preferred Anandi over her
Then Gauri saw opportunity to get back at Singhs and Anandi when she got older and Jagya and she fell for each other and Jagya chose her over Anandi.
Jagya's constant comparisons of her with Anandi made her resent Anandi even more and the fact that despite being chosen by Jagya his parents never accepted her as DIL this made her resent Anandi even more.
Sanchi thought she would prove to be better than Anandi and she failed and what's more she was passed over for someone who is considered to bear close resemblance to Anandi.
At home most of her family members think that Anandi is the best thing since sliced bread and her brother's world revolve around her.All that does make her resentful towards Anandi and now Ganga.A trait she shares with Gauri
She does share some traits with Jagya too - She too is spoilt by her family just like Jagya was.She too is used to have her family dance to her tunes like Jagya did.
Like Jagya she too is selfish and expects family to meet her every demand.She too doesn't know how to cope with disappointments in life like Jagya.
Jagya had to be isolated from his family and everything he considered to be precious to learn lessons from life and hopefully they show Sanchi also sufefring before she learnt lessons.
Just like Gauri instigated a willing Jagya to go against his family Sanchi's friend Ankita is doing the same with a willing Sanchi.
But only thing was Jagya fall and rise was worth watching because the character was well conceived and Shashank does full justice to the character
Gauri's fall and rise would have made a much better story because Gauri is a strong character and has many positive traits to her unlike Sanchi.
But I guess in the absence of Gauri's character we have to make do with Sanchi who has a reason to feel jealous of Anandi and resentful towards Jagya for having been rejected by him just like Gauri.
I so wish the actress was more competent who could bring out the pain and resentment on being constantly comapred with someone like Anandi and pain and hurt on being rejected by someone she loved and bring out the feeling of helplessness when shunned by the family.Sanchi's story would ahve been more intersting if the role has been played by more competent actress.
