I am not disagreeing or agreeing with you. My intent on this response it to express my views on certain topics you have mentioned -
1. Is she raising social awareness about Muslim marriage laws. I don't know honestly. Since you said that we need to be patient, and I agree to it and am willing to let the story unfold, I will reserve my judgement till then. At this moment, this track to me shows her Zidd of sticking to the original story and combating the fierce competition. If she goes beyond this, and shows what you say, I will also appreciate her.
2. As far as the OTP go, I know that they are set in stone. My views on fidelity are a little different and even vague, as some of the folks on the forum already know. If you are in love with one and married to another, it is extremely difficult to keep your thoughts "fidel". There are somethings we as human's have little control on. But, again, if you are trying to make an honest attempt to make ur marriage work, then over time, you HAVE to fight your emotions and thoughts.
3. Can the OTP's get back together once the divorce is through? YES, why ever not? My only thought on this is that after trying to make your marriage work and failing to do so, building a second relationship with first love will always be hard. The relationship will always have cracks, there will be trust issues. Something you may or may not overcome with time and patience.
4. Divorce - This is such a difficult topic to comprehend and discuss. I am personally not against divorcee remaariage. Infact, I support it wholehearted and have atleast 2 divorced cousins remarried which my parents helped set up. How do I feel about divorce myself? I am someone who believes in giving the relationship a shot wholeheartedly, especailly if there are kids involved in the mix. Ofcourse, if the spouse is abusive, compulsive cheat, of criminal intentions, please leave him/her asap. But if the problem is we don't match (I know a lot of young people who use this as a basis for divorce within the first year of marriage), then the problem is not the other person, its you. You have not really given the marriage a try and are taking things very lightly. Divorces can be emotionally draining not only during the process but even post it. The bechara/bechari tag that society gives you makes it extremely difficult to pick up you life and move on. Atleast half the society is wondering why you ended up where you are, keeping away from these nosy, judgemental people is also not an easy task. I don't even won't to get into the whole children from broken homes issue. But like I said, I have a few cousins you were in bad relationships and made the smart decision to walk out of the marriage, but it took them a long time to be truly happy and completely heal emotionally. One of them had a love marriage that did not work after 10 years. She has sworn off of marriage.
5.Storytelling - its not just about twists and keeping it interesting. Execution and logic are equally important. No one wants to read a book, where the story is all over the place, grammar is bad, characters are inconsistent, etc. So even though Gul might be a great story teller, nothing wrong with complaining when you are not satisfied with the product you are getting. Yes, we all have remotes we can use...😉😆
6. My personal problem - I cannot get over the physical dragging of Zoya when she was protesting it. To me this is a form of abuse too, no matter the reason. Again, its Zoya's choice to go back to Asad. And we don't have the complete picture yet, but I still oppose that scene and will continue to do so. Everything else, so far has been explained and sort of makes sense too. I am willing to look past the lack of logic too, or the choice of track used to reach the end result of ZoYaan and Zoe in SM. There could have been many acceptable, palatable ways to do so, had she chosen to.
Sorry for the long essay. And yes, I agree, we need to be patient with the show and see how things unfold. Hence I am not creating hate posts and petitions😆. But hey, I do have the freedom to speak my mind,don't I?😉
