Your very insight and ability to look positively through the track is admirable! A big hug and kudos to you for preaching an unconventional idea/thought on Gul's direction 🤗
I personally never look down upon divorce as I have seen people suffering while living in a suffocating marriage. Society never looks at how individuals have to put up with everyday conflicts. There are many women living in an abusive environment and still not taking a step due to what society would say. No matter what the religion, getting seperated seems like a big sin even when the spouse is being abused and the children are suffering.
Also, I don't get how getting married again is bad. Everyone needs a companion in life, and with millions of people in the world why should one stay alone.
This reminds me of a conversation I was having during my philosophy class. The problem is that we have a mindset that doesn't fit practically in real life. We can't follow the likes of Ram and Sita in today's world because we are living in a complete different world.
Marriage is a sacred bond but to say that the person you marry will stay with you forever (or 7 lives in hinduism) is unrealistic in today's day and age. Yes, I see many successful couples but then I also see couples where one partner is a complete jackass and ruining the other's life. Also, sometimes we just aren't meant to be.
Look at Ayaan and Zoya. I'm sure that they both could end up living life comfortably considering that they understand each other and are good friends. However, they don't love each other...they like another person. Similarly, what if the partner isn't bad but just not your type? Clashing personalities that just can't stay together?
I feel that it's not right to stay with someone that you know you won't be completely satisfied with.
I am glad that this show is taking a different approach and talking about divorce. Asad and the other family members represent the current mindset of people who believe that marriage is sacred and should not be broken. While Zoe represents the many people who think differently. She represents the many who have been under the same situation or just thought differently. Gul is doing a great job of sending a social message. Yes, there are things which offend people because it involves religion, and their favourite couples. But, I just want to wait and see this unfold.
By the way, you are completely right on the part of keeping patience as it is a show and just a track which will surely resolve and pass.
