Sujata I myself cried because I am hurt that even today in my country it is such treatment of women that sells in the name of women. These story lines, item numbers ...On one end we want everyone to respect women, but on the other hand we all enjoy this objectification of women and watch it every night. Why? When will a show really show women in a respectful light? All shows talk about social themes. But all objectify women like that in the end. Afsar Bitiya, Phir Subah Hogi, etc., all start as these strong women who want to teach society - but in the end all become a scheming love triangle with no morality.

As a woman, just as a woman, I refuse to see this crap in the name of entertainment. I refuse to see a show where no one in the entire SM is showing Nikhat what the right thing to do is. I refuse to see a show where a Haseena Bi can get her way around like this, just because she is the mother of the sons?

mona i know women always have been treated in a bad way..thats true..but some women raised their voice and there was although lil bit but improvemnet happened ...though still women are still in backseats but i know one day will come when they will reach where they belong...

unless women treat other women better or support ...men will keep doing this...

i am disappointed with this drama because gul promised to change the misconception of muslim culture and women there..she promised that her show is about a progressive girl...

sorry no i dont see any progressiveness in show ...let alone zoya who is pesudo progressive...

when she can not stand up for herself there is no point of she stand up for others...

the show proving if you are second woman ..you will be always insecure,selfish and cunning(read shireen),if your husband has left you,you will always keep being taunted from society (read dilshaad)...if ypu are drak skinned (you can not get married without dowry ) if your engagemnet breaks once ,no one will be ready to get married to you( read nikhat)...if your love has rejected you please go ahead and suicide(huemria)if you have sons(you have some veto power and can do anything you want in life and make anyone to do what you want(haseena)

and zoya who always stood up for others ,who could never see anyone doing injustice to anyone...but when it comes to her she becomes regressive like hell...why gul why...if a woman is progressive ..let her be the same ...do not use her progressive ness in your drama as per your convinience .in begining you show zoya that she will never take shit from anyone then what???? she cries and takes all the shit...

she has been victimised she has been dragged in a invalid marriage' she jas been lent,she has been given to stay with a stranger as his wife...be it forcefully or by emotionally blackmailing by her love...

so gul khan you proved that even people who know whats right and wrong who know its injustice and who have stood up for injustice in past...they will also be victimised and they will just sit and cry...

i am sorry but finally you all proved that you can never show a woman who can ctually stand up for herself when its needed...

to hell with such progressiveness as you said gul khan...better be like nikhat and huemira and attempt suicide ..people will listen you..and if they dont...there is no point of staying alive also. right...

i refuse to see a drama with so much of insensitivity... i am sorry but i can not be part of such sadism ...because if i had been sucker of insensity and sadism i would have not watched this show.. i would have been watching all woman and child documentry and art films which are real life based...

atleats they do not cheat,they show wahts reality and they show how things will change or changed ..

i know its fiction ..but gul promised againa and again it will change all misconception and show time have changed...

ther was only one woman who could change things in show as woman ...but today you ruined her too...

Our helplessness lies in the fact that person behind a story like this is also a woman. Hope Gul has enough sense to understand the seriousness. of what she has shown and she thereby will make amends for it by making Zoya raise her voice and giving it to Asad and Ayasn that how for saving the respect of one woman they completely forgot to consider other two(Zoya and Humiera) as human beings and completely diregarded their rights.

Amazing! I didn't understand some of it coz my Hindi is not that great! However, I got the gist of it. Especially the last line is VERY poignant!!

PLEASE post this on Forum 32! They NEED to see this!!

Gul needs to understand the level of offence she has caused! This show may be just a money making method for her! But for people who watch it, it actually MEANS something! We wont stand for the objectification of women just lying down!

1stly, a huge applause to the writer, MONACO for the wonderful piece of writing.
it touched deep. very bitter truth which we carefully keep aside and act as blisfully ignorant people. but this is the hard and bitter truth of the indian society in a whole. and i'm surprised how can any prime time show telecast such grave injustices to a woman? even after all the gory events of rape,sexual exploits and molestations? the show producer is a big hypocrite and senseless to a woman's plight even though she is herself a woman. such an insensitive woman she is.

2ndly, if gul khan reads any of the post or she has any inkling about the fact that such a good soap is facing such negative response, she should immediately make Zoya's character stand out by voicing her plight and not to use her as a commodity and that too because of an improper marriage where neither the word, "qubool hai" was uttered by the bride or the groom nor the bride's full name was mentioned while the qazi was reading out the nikaah. so Zoya should protest against this horrible farcical manipulation by the men of the both households and remain fixed to her stand,.

And, yes, you are right. I am out of watching this on TV and increasing her TRPs just out of principle. I am not someone who can be pacified with Mitwa moments after the damage is done. :)

Sujata, you have nailed it! I would love to see Zoya stand up for herself and walk away. Really. But we know drama and TRP ke liye that wont happen. My basic problem with this track is execution.

1. Ayaan and Asad totally forgetting the need to consult with the women in their life about such a big decision

2. Ayaan actually asking for Zoya as a bride

3. Zoya admitting this was a mistake but blatantly saying she is not wanting to be a part of this game.

I am more curious to see if Maulvi asks Zoya also whether she considers this nikaah valid or not - In my opinion Islam gives her the right. But in Guls objectify Women world, may be not.

And, if he does, what does she say? If she says YES, thats it she accepted this Nikaah!!!

But, as you said, Monday this wont happen. She will agree to go ahead with this. Actually then, what will happen? Based on TRPs Gul will decide whether to show Zoya progressive or flash the Ta Umra card and start Zoyaan Mitwaa...

Sad. Sad. Sad. What still sells in India in name of entertainment is ITEM songs, and stories like these where women are treated the way you mentioned. No matter how beautifully a story starts they ultimatley become degenerate women sagas. But worst is Gul ji showed potential and promised that this show will break misconceptions and it didn't. Not one of the five young girls wants a career in this serial. Not one? Najma falling in love had potential to show progressive debate (make her fall for someone outside Islam may be?) and show her clash with Asad. I think just AsYa clashing on principles had so much potential... but well, they have ruined this serial for me.

And ofcourse, amidst all this we are forgetting that PH has made mockery of the sanctity of institution of marriage (in a show that has been stressing its importance since day one), made absolute fun and insult of Islam, and has lost all sense of logic!
