This will give closure to this case and send a warning to few...but long term safety will be ensured only if changes are brought in policing, judiciary and eventually social thinking. For every case reported, many go unreported with majority of harassment happening within households. It is one tiny step but miles to go to see palpable change.

TFS ... I was happy to see this news in the paper this morning ... just hope the judgement is not overturned in the High Court and Supreme Court. And the juvenile should also get much stricter punishment, he was apparently the worst of the lot. At the least, he should be castrated, so that he will never look at another woman in a bad light again ... and it might act as deterrent to other men and their families. Boys are treated like ghar ka chirag to carry the family name further. If their ability to do that is cut off, maybe the social stigma of rape will increase, and the fear of punishment will extend to the families as well.
