EPISODE 1

Baraat procession in progress ------ bridegroom on ghodi…baraatees are dancing on popular film songs being played on the band…Camera focuses on back of a boy who is dancing with lot of enthusiasm and also pulling others to dance…women shower notes over dancing boys…group of boys pick this boy high and now we show his face…he is Samman…a van is behind- in that procession from which Baraaties are served snacks and liquor in kullhad…group of boys loudly say cheers!!! as they strike their kulhards together…Samman sounds little tipsy as he exclaims…'kulhard mein whiskey peene ka maza hi kuch aur hai'

Here its established that the place is not Mumbai as the local boy proudly says, ' hamare Patna ki khasiyat ------ kullhad mein bahut kuch piya jaata hai ------ kabhi kbhai chai bhi.

Bride is being dressed up…final touches to her make up ------ chunari is being given ------- dulhan dheere sey poochti hai, 'Kakul kahan hai? usey bulaao.' Someone loudly says, 'Kakul kahan hai ----- bolo dulhan yaad karr rahi hai usey.' Didiya comes and tells dulhan that she will go and call Kakul.

We show pair of hands… stretched out one by one… trisha didiya comes and admires her…We establish the girl is very rich…she asks her sister, 'main kaisi lag rahi hoon…' didiya kisses on her forehead…saying 'koi samajh nahi paayega dulhan tum ho ya wo…kaheen nazar na lag jaae meri Kakul ko.' Ab Kakul nazar utha karr dekhti hai ----- didiya says, 'father and brother in law will get worried – they will have to think of getting her married.

Baraaties are welcomed by spraying 'itr'…and showering of flowers…Ceremony of 'Milani' takes place between…mama, chacha and brothers of bride and groom…Light teasing moments…where they embrace each other and thinner ones try to uphold the fat ones…who feel sheepish and then the reverse. Bride's mother performs Aarti of the groom and he is allowed to proceed in…

Dulhan ko laaya jaata hai, Jaimala ceremony…exchange of fun dialogues between the youngsters from both sides…Kakul and Samman's eyes meet… the bride is about to put jaimala to the groom… group of boys raise the groom high…and bride's brothers pick her up and raise her even higher …after little nok-jhonk finally she is able to put mala to groom's neck…there is lot of clapping and we show that Kakul and Samman are mesmerized by each other so much so that they do not even respond to what others are talking about… Sound of clapping breaks their eye contact…Kakul becomes conscious and looks around shyly… bridegroom's friends comment on the beauty of girls standing around the bride…saying they should have brought some more jaimalas for the prospective grooms…Girls smartly reply…' jaimala to hum le aayenge lekin itni doliyaan bhi laani padengi…'

Samman is with his friends …all are looking towards the corner where Kakul and other girls are chatting and laughing…they tease Samman for Kakul…since they do not know her name…they address her by the color of her dress…'pink wali par dil aa gaya hai Samman ka…' Prakash contradicts…'Arre yaar Samman ka dil to already engaged hai…uski wicket toh giri hui hai…wo kya pataayega …

Samman says …' pata liya to kya dega…' everyone shout…'shart lagaa lo 100 rupay ki…ladki pat gai to wo tumhaarey …nahi to tum doge hummey…200 rupay…'Samman straightens the collar of his shirt and claps on the boy's hand…'lagi shart…!!!'

We see that Kakul is a childhood friend of dulhan…and that dulhan belongs to a middle class background…still her marriage is organized lavishly in a great style by Kakul's father 'Om Shankar' who is a big and powerful man of the city…Dulhan shows her gratitude to Kakul for this…just then Trisha (Kakul's elder sister) comes and tells her to come down…'chalo jaldi ------ gaana bajaana shuru ho gaya.'

The music overlaps.

As the bridal couple watches, everyone enjoys seeing a glamorous girl dancing on a number' bidi jalaaeele…' from Omkara, Samman and Kakul's eyes meet again and again ------- a clear attraction.

Big car stops… gunmen come down first followed by Sujeet ------ Om Shankar's daamaad, known as badka babu, who opens the rear door of the car… a big and powerful man in Jodhpuri coat steps out --------- Om Shankar …he is welcomed by bride's father ------ Jagmohan Prasad.

Samman observes that Kakul is going towards staircase…he follows her…and seeing the opportunity stops her in style…both are attracted towards each other…she feels shy and wants to go…while he is talking to Kakul, he receives a call------ he looks at the mobile, the name Vanishka flashes on the screen -----he disconnects and tells Kakul that it is not important ------nothing matters besides her ------ he flirts with her and asks her name ------- the moment she tells her name…there is a sound as if someone is approaching…she gets scared and leaves hurriedly. Samman gets disappointed…'itna achcha mauka haat se nikal gaya…'

Sujeet comes to Jagmohan Prasad and politely asks him…'aapse kuch baat karni hai….zara baahar aaeynge…' father looks confused…'iss waqt kunwarji?…' Sujeet insists ------ Jagmohan follows him in confusion…

Sujeet walks towards a van with Jagmohan ------the moment they reach the van…the door opens and Sujeet tells Jagmohan to get into the van and then without giving him any chance to speak… The van zooms off….

Jagmohan looks perplexed…kyon laaye ho mujhey yahaan…Sujeet shows him a paper and calmly tells him to sign ------ it is a declaration by him that he is withdrawing his nomination from the poll ----- Jagmohan refuses ----- Sujeet pretends to be humble as he explains…offering a pen…that he is supposed to withdraw his name from the upcoming elections ------ Jagmohan resists from signing…Sujeet shows him another paper…'nahi to iss par sign kar deejiye…ke aap aatma hatya kar rahe hain…' ------- Jagmohan starts shouting that he would complain to Om Shankar ------ he wants to phone him ------ Sujeet and other two men start laughing …Sujeet then says that all this is being done on Om Shankar's instructions only…no one can dare to contest against Om Shankar's candidate.------- Aapko kya lagta hai…bina kisi kaaran ke unhone aapki beti ki shaadi unki is kothi mein kari hai aur us par lakhon rupay kharch kar diye… kya haisiyat thee apki?

Shocked Jagmohan still refuses to sign.

Panditji performs pooja with the bride and asks for her father…he is needed in the ceremony…all wonder and look for him…

To scare Jagmohan, Sujeet suddenly fires a shot in the open…sound of birds flying…Jagmohan signs…

Om Shankar is sitting like a gentleman ------- he is surrounded by his darbaris and bodyguards -------- people come and touch his feet----- just then he gets an SMS on his mobile…'SIGNED' ------- he smiles.

Samman stands behind the pillar and when Kakul passes by he holds her hand…she is taken aback…pleads with him to leave her hand…'koi dekh lega…' he says, 'then let's meet at a place where no one can see us ------ do you know any such place? She says that they could go to the terrace. She then runs away shyly…Samman shows victory sign (by raising his thumb in the air) to his friends who watch him from another corner.

Cut to the spiral staircase ------- she keeps guiding him with her hand behind her back and asks him to follow her.

A romantic moment…Kakul seems to have become fond of Samman… …Samman holds her hand and approaches to kiss her…saying mujhe tumse ishq ho gaya hai, yeh pehli nazar ka pyar hai --------…she blushes and pulls herself away…asking him if he is flirting with her or he really likes her------- he shows desperation to get intimate with her…and says, 'believe me ------ you are my first love, I have never been friendly with any other girl -------will you marry me?' and he moves close to her ------- just say once that you love me.'

AS SAMMAN COMES CLOSER AND CLOSER BY INTERCUTS WE SEE KAKUL'S SISTER AND SUJEET LOOKING FOR KAKUL IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE PANDAL.

Samman leans towards Kakul to kiss her and wants to go even further…when suddenly the terrace door opens …Kakul knows someone has come and she panics….
