Saif Ali Khan has a difficult choice before him. The actor has been approached for both Adi Chopra's next film to be directed by Victor (who wrote Dhoom and Dhoom 2) as well as Karan Johar's next production directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Although the actor has agreed to both the films, trouble lies ahead, for the dates of the films are clashing. The actor has been left with no choice but to choose between the two. What remains to be seen who will Saif give priority to – Aditya Chopra or Karan Johar?
Says an industry insider, on condition of anonymity, "Saif has already delivered hits in both camps. He did Hum Tum and Salaam Namaste with Adi Chopra and Kal Ho Na Ho with KJo. His relationship with both production houses is amicable. However, he had earlier ditched Karan Johar's production 'Kaal' where he was supposed to be in Vivek Oberoi's place. At that time his then-wife Amrita Singh said the dates clashed with Pradeep Sarkar's Parineeta and Viveik Oberoi was signed at the last moment. It was precisely for this reason that Karan did not cast him for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna as he is wary of Saif's last-minute date changes."
The source adds, "Right now Saif is facing date problems again. He has signed up for Karan Johar's next film to be directed by Tarun Mansukhani and well as Aditya Chopra's next film to be directed by Victor. Both these films will be going on the floors around June-July. He will definitely have to opt out of one of the two."
However, the source suggests it will be Tarun's film also starring Abhishek that Saif will, most probably, walk out of. "Tarun seems to be aware of this. He knows that Saif's position in the film is a little shaky," says the source.

When asked whether he was aware of Saif's date problems, Tarun said, "All details of the film, the cast included, will be finalised only by the end of the month. It's too soon to say whether Saif will be in the film or not." During an interview, Kjo had said that Aishwarya would also be in the film along with Abhishek and Saif. "I will comment only by the end of the month after everything is finalised," Tarun said.
The other film, with Aditya Chopra stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor and reportedly Saif is excited about sharing screen space with Akki once again after the two gave a spate of hits like Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Yeh Dillagi, earlier in his career.
