My ultimate all-time favorite SRK movie.

This is Mani Ratnam's best work without a doubt IMO.

Romance was subtle, mature, realistic and epic.

All characters so well etched out.

Story, script and screenplay so flawless.

Movie is gripping from the first frame to the last.

Performances -

SRK - Intensity in his eyes just blew my mind off. Totally restrained. His one of the best acts.

Manisha - I could feel her anguish throughout the movie. Her best act by a distance.

PZ - Fabulous screen presence for her first movie.

Locales and Cinematography - Kashmir and Delhi Amazing!

Music - Rahman's best for me ( yes better than Bombay and Roja ) and SRK's best for me ( yes better than Pardes, KHNH, DDLJ, DTPH ) and Gulzar's best for me ( yes better than Maachis )

Chaiya chaiya is an iconic song in Indian cinematic history for the way it was picturized on top of a train and the brilliant lyrics.

My fav song - impossible to choose one but still..

aawaz de kahin se

My fav scenes -

almost every scene is close to my heart

but the initial platform scene where he first sees her and brings tea for her in the rain..

then the night scene in the open in Ladakh where they come so close yet so far (that's like the most romantic thing ever shown on celluloid) when he says what he hates and loves the most about her is her eyes and all and then they keep looking into each other's eyes..

then the scene on the rooftop when he places the earphones in her ears and they again come so close yet so far..

*goosebumps*

My fav dialogue -

Meghna : aakhir tum jaante kya ho mere baare mein

Amar : kuch nahi..

sirf yeh ki main tumhe chahta hun..

dil se..

I remember how Chaiya Chaiya became Nations rage, every tom dick and harry used to Hum that song, SRK looked So cute and adorable in Dil se, Outstanding tracks like Eh Ajnabi/Jiya Jale and Chaiyya Chaiyya. A wonderful script, one great movie!

This is also my most fav SRK movie of all time. I absolutely loved SRK-Manisha chemistry in this one ❤️ Not only that it is my alltime favourite romantic movie. Oh my SRK was so intense and Manisha carried so much pain in her eyes. They were volatile. Their relationship was so doomed but deeply impactful.My fav fav fav onscreen couple in BW history. Their characters were so amazingly defined and so outstandingly portrayed by these two.

The soundtrack is par excellence

One helluva movie which got majorly and unfairly ignored :(

I mean the idea itself of a common man journo working at a National Radio Station falling in love with a terrorist with a brutal painful past is intriguing and then the treatment of the concept is outstanding.

Movie was sheer poetry onscreen.

Love stories should be made like that.

Soothing and Passionate music, very sad these days we don't get this Kind of music(Titli from CE was an exception though). Dil se had everlasting tracks❤️

I know right.. dil se just completed 15 years.. so i thought i should post my take on the film 😎
