Is SC trying to promote domestic Violence??

I understand that Kumud is currently heartbroken and no longer has the will power to stand up for herself. But I am really disappointed to see her being abused like this and she is allowing Pramad to do it.

Kumud was a headstrong girl, but marriage doesn't mean that you need to loose your self respect. In a way SC is promoting domestic violence, by showing a timid and docile Kumud. If we women will not raise against the domestic else, nobody else will.

I feel it very disgusting, when these so called pativrata patni (every where in the country- not in particular to SC) mouth the stupid sermons, saying "Whatever he does is out of love", "Women should not complain against act committed by our better half", "Woh Mare, Pete, but mera pati mera parmeshwar hain".

Beacuse these bullshit women continue to suffer. Actually SC should a set an example, by showing the fiery Kumud, who should give a fitting reply to her hubby, so that he doesn't dare again to abuse her.

they aren't showing domestic violence but showing how women are actually treated by alcoholic husbands!

Kindly change ur title. Ur title and ur post are contradictory!

SC isn't showing domestic violence and promoting it in any way, it is just showing dat India still has dis social evil of "Domestic Violence" and later on wil show "how girls should tackle it"

And I wud like to say, nowadays, many documentaries and films and serials are based on some social evils, like child marriage, sexual abuse, rape, female infanticide, dat doesn't means the programme is promoting it

I hope u understand and I agree wid u😊

I would have changed the title, but actually I dont feel like doing it after watching today's episode. I do understand that SC is based on a novel, but the novel is pretty old, and dates back to another age. SC portrays Kumud as modern girl, who would raise voice aginst injustice at first instance.

Showing torture of women does increases the trp to certain extent, but at what cost. I feel SC should be bold enough to show Kumud, raising a voice against it at first instance, and not wait for the time to set things right.

Women should raise voice and set expectations at first, so that nobody dares to misbehave or manhandle you. Even today, silence is sign of acceptance.

I hope all of you do understand.

Kudos!! You have voiced my opinions rather powerfully.

They perpetuate the silent suffering woman image. Are we living in the 21st century or still in a primitive age??? Marrying off a girl is like selling off some commodity. So once the deal is done a new owner is there. The earlier one has forfeited the right over it. Kumud's family feel that they have no right over Kumud now, and it is against propriety and social convention even to ring her up (let alone visit her) and inquire of her welfare. Kumud is the first graduate of Ratnagari. She is a computer literate also. What's the use of her education if she can't break the shackles and live a dignified life of her own. SLB / SC is promoting a very wrong, unethical lesson.
