WHAT AN EPISODE! What a confession! You could see the pain, the shock, the regret in Kumud's eyes. He had come! He had come back for her! yet it doesn't matter now because reality is something else. She can't be his now.

Kumud's little confession pierced through Saras's heart. Like no physical pain could touch it. Her ilzaam that she has got this pain due to the pyaar ki sazaa. His anguish that he gave her the dard, yes..but this pain would have such dire consequences, he would've never dreamt of in his worst nightmare.

Apt use of words when Saras says that when he regained conscious he had lost everything.

I often wondered what would happen when Kumud knows the truth. How would she react? Would she collapse in his arms? Would she breakdown infront of him? All these beautiful images of anguish, need, repentance were filling my mind. I wanted to see them together and how!

But I must say…this was more impactful than having that physical connection. This was about 'ehsaas'. And from day 1 the CVs, directors have maintained this between saras and kumud. From the first time she saw his eyes..there was an ehsaas there and the first time he heard her kamarband…an ehsaas was there…and same for ydays epi.

Saras's confession was at a distant from Kumud…but yet they felt so connected to one another and this is why him self inflicting pain on himself makes all the sense. Its not right but yet its something that binds them together. They cannot be one but that doesn't mean that they can not share the same feelings. If Kumud is experiencing pain, so will he. If she is happy then he will be too.

So finally Kumud got closure! Isnt that what she needed to move on! And haven't I been saying this all along!!! She needs to hear him out…She has to because only then she will be able to move on and its done wonders! The old Kumud is back! Her confidence is back! Her fighting spirit is back!

Seeing her hair open and doing the arti like that..I somewhere feel that she has almost moved on from Saras (I feel sad about this..but I hope that its not just that…its more that she has accepted that Saras was a beautiful phase in her life which she will never forget and that she still loves him but she has to reach to a compromise with Pramaad..he is her aaj and her kal (as far as she is aware))

So a new kumud who infront of bhagwaan has in a way made a promise to make her marriage work! She seems determined! Determined to the extent that she will now try to change Pramaad and show that she is not weak. Do I like this? NO! but yet I did not want to see her weak and feeble.

The CVs have yet again divided us! The audience will not be able to sit on the fence. It seems like we will through out be taking a stance on Kumud.

Now its going to be:

Kumud's right to move on vs Not wanting Kumud to move on supporters.

I unfortunately fall in the latter. I cant see her with Pramaad. I almost believe he wont change but I also feel that the old kumud that she is now would also stand by her in laws no matter what..(in the event Pramaad was to die…she still wont accept Saras) She is now stronger than having the need to have a man in her life.

By all means she will take a stance against Pramaad's violence but she will give it her all to save her marriage. She wont walk out on him for the sake of her in laws.

So where does this leave Saras? Somehow I think he will find happiness if he sees Kumud happy. Their love is now beyond just being with one another. He can never stop loving her. His love isnt just about owning the person he loves. That was the old Saras.

Yday there were two turning points:

1. Saras succeeded in bringing back the old Kumud

2. Kumud succeeded in forgiving Saras. She may not admit it in the coming episodes but the change in her has meant she has forgiven him.

Gautam Rode and Jenny – Go get your Oscars! Your acting yday was no less than you both deserving a massive Oscar for it if it was possible! I am dumbfounded! Versatility, intensity, passion…you both have oodles of! You have left the bestest of actors far far behind!

The tadap in Gautam's eyes when he confesses that he is now an orphan…wow! Jenny's painful eyes when she sees what he went through all alone. She wasn't there to help and support him. You could see the helplessness in her eyes! How is such beautiful acting even possible! Pure Magic!

Thank You both for giving me the best experience ever!

Saras and Kumud will go down in history! If GT's novel was long forgotten..its GR and Jen who have brought it back to life!

I don't feel adequate enough to praise them. What a SMASHING performance today! I also got an answer- why am I getting so involved while analysing two fictional characters as if they are real people- flash, blood and feels aka real 'persons'. These two!
Don't feel like adding anything, it was such a perfect episode. Even if they keep on giving one such, once a week, the watch is worth perhaps. Serendipity- they are belting out much more than 'once' in a week in this show. And yes Cvs thanks for bringing forth 'haldi bowl' with mirroring reflections of pain-bonds, heals and 'links'.

Contd...

But I do want to express a major misgiving that I have restrained so far in some token disagreements only, normally as an avoidance and also as a deference to the 'opinions'- so to say.😕
The prevailing refrain is 'Her willing 'choice' in opting to marry'. 'Her wounded 'pride' in her 'choice' to marry'. In short, Her 'hasty' (and!) 'decision'!!😲 None of this has a just base in objective facts that narrative is presenting (even much more NOT SO in the source). A one easy finger is, "but she did marry 'in spite of' her being a modern, decisive, adult person, 'that she is'. It becomes a 'choice' and 'decision'."...Can't see a logic more twisted to browbeat entire portrayal of the narrative... Questions are; 1) was she decisive? And even more 2) 'was it her choice?'...
The back episodes clearly showed; a) an inert numbness after the fatal stab. And b) it was her complete submission to what her father is 'deciding' for her. Her father's honour and family's compulsion. She was accepting what is being 'thrust' on her as dead acceptance. There was a specific dialogue on her,' bapu janha kahenge...' And VC had avowed, 'Kumud shall get married on the same day.' Also,"meri zindgi ka faisala me nahi...and 'i have no dream now, i would only fulfil parents' wish and guidance..." A two way thrust, imposed on her by a reneging suitor and panicked father. How do one take away any liability from these two 'deciding' forces??
As for 'choice', when since a dead acceptance/ submission- like a doomed person unable to maintain foothold under force of flood torrent- would be deemed a choice?!🤢 Two scenes are enough- her indifference to see the photograph of 'choice'. And her inability to participate any ritual in the marriage- so much that a parent had to come and nudge her onwards.🥱

What a convolution? A culprit who individually alone has opened a floodgate, is granted lee way of a 'past trauma rendering him incapable of rationale' and hence not truly culpable of the 'action'. But victim of that flood- because she is 'adult' and happened to be in the way of an unleashed flood- is actually a culprit for allowing that flood to sweep her away! Amazing. 'Decision' and Choices?! Indeed.
Today scriptwriters have emphasised these points in Kumud. IMO...

WOW! Awesome analysis!
Totally agree with you on Jen and GR! They are like throwing one surprise after another in terms of acting! Trumps after trumps!! Love it!!!

Arshi, yes totally dil-ki-baat wala episode... and contrarily also a sukoon-wala one, although rather tear-soaked sukoon ..😊

Agree with smith, both Jenny and Gautam put in superlative performances, CV's as well, they unravelled the mystery in two stages - did he come at all on wedding night? and what led him to make that phone call? (As I said a while ago, the man who came to see Kumud on Karva Chauth night was not the same person who made that phone call... At this point I'm no longer into debating which of Saras or Kumud has more to be sorry about, I think it ws very much a joint effort, and now both Saras and Kumud have come around to the same pov, looks like... though Saras ever the gentleman is striving to take more of the blame and responsibility onto his plate...That's Ok, too, because "he" physically made the call after all.)

Loved the way the whole scene was choreographed, starting from Saras finding K sleeping in armchair in exact same pose as he found her sleeping on stool next to his bed in VC's haveli, long ago... the first time ever he saw her...

Poignant the way these two are always providing pattis for each other, whereas PPP only talks about pattas...

The part where K supervises Saras bandaging his hand, without touching him at all, was the most romantic ever... Standing ovation for whoever wrote that title song as well..👏

Edit - pre-cap: Havent got over Kumud removing her mangalsutra, and Kalika holding it? ... most likely a red herring ala the interrupted phone connection between Kusum and Saras. 😲

hmm re pre cap...My understanding was perhaps Kumud out of haste (our kumud's 2nd nature!!) she just yanked it off and it broke and she has merely given it to Kalika to go get it fixed...but then dunno if that contradicts her packing her bags! unless just then she realises that she cant really just pack her bags and go home.

Thanks happy, had not noticed the painting, great connect made there, and also great recall on the first meeting. Now that the air has been cleared, it was in many ways a first meeting!

Love the way the same scenes are being revisited with new dynamics. Loved the seedhe dil ki baat and her believing him. Especially loved his taking the onus for the whole chain of events. Because as smrth pointed out, he was the one who opened the floodgates, thereafter the choice is only whether to let the flow take you wherever or to hold on to anything that comes your way!

The painting shows that CVs are thinking and looking into minute details and laying patterns and symbols. 👏

And 👏 to you too noticing that

I did not like the precap. If she is going to hold on to the mangalsutra just because Mrs BD emotionally blackmails her, 😡. I want her to fling it in pramaads face after she saw what she saw!

how ironic nah! First Kumud has the fate of Sara's mai by being dumped on her wedding day and then now her life is following somewhat the fate of his mother...pati ka extra marital affair! but for Mrs B to know that her son is sleeping around and still expect Kumud to fight for her 'marriage' would be a step backwards in SP's 'nayi soch'.
But then this is the reality. Many MIL's know about their sons illigitimate relations and support their DILs but never ever advice that you leave my son. they will always want that you as a wife keep on fighting and he will change.
even today..how many mothers will want to hold on to that last thread..last diya of umeed that their wayward son will change. Kumud is Mrs B's last hope. She has dreams for her son too..which mother wouldnt i sppse..she wants that he becomes responsible and is happily married! A mother will never accept that their son is the way he is n will never ever change! not until something dire happens and she ends up disowning him! But looks like Pramaad is maa da laadla!! so thats never happening!
