Shilpa's acting career began in 1989 with Ramesh Sippy’s Bhrashtachar, co-starring Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha. In 1990, she starred alongside Anil Kapoor in Kishen Kanhaiya. She then delivered a series of successful films, including Trinetra, Hum (1991), Khuda Gawah, Aankhen, Pehchaan, Gopi Kishan, Bewafa Sanam, and Mrityudand. After her marriage, Shilpa took a break from films, with her final film appearance in Gaja Gamini in 2000. Her most recent appearance was on the TV reality show Bigg Boss 17.
