The clip, which shows the actor criticising Mumbai’s roads, was shared with a misleading caption claiming it had been declared “illegal” by the Film Federation of India. The claim quickly caught attention, prompting a sharp response from Tandon.

Reacting to the viral post, she dismissed the caption and questioned its credibility. In the comments section, she wrote, "Haahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahah what are you guys smoking these days. That’s illegal I hope you know." Her response appeared to target the false claim attached to the video rather than the content of the interview itself.

In the resurfaced clip, which dates back to the 1990s, Tandon speaks candidly about her experience in Mumbai. She says, "Considering Bombay's traffic and the condition of its roads, I would advise not to buy a very expensive car because after the rains, the roads in Bombay become so bad. I don’t know where the road tax goes or whose pockets it ends up in, but the situation is so bad that it becomes difficult to have a good car in Bombay."

The video was reshared by a social media page with a caption suggesting that the Film Federation had objected to her remarks without prior government clearance. This framing led to confusion among viewers, with many questioning whether the interview had violated any rule or guideline.

Addressing the confusion, Tandon clarified that there was nothing inappropriate about what she had said. She responded to users, stating, "The interview is absolutely right. The rest of this made up story about the Film Federation is all rubbish. Your generation should have seen the roads in the 90s." Her clarification drew attention to the gap between the original statement and the viral narrative.

Over the years, Tandon has remained vocal on public issues, including civic concerns and social causes. In an earlier interaction with Filmfare, she reflected on how actors in the 1990s often struggled to respond to public narratives. “We faced the worst headlines. Social media is a boon today because facts can be shared immediately,” she had said.
