Ektaa Kapoor reacts to trolling over AI in Naagin 7 says 'mujhe chahiye dragon with no budget'

Ekta Kapoor has responded to the criticism surrounding the use of artificial intelligence in her show Naagin 7, which features Priyanka Chahar Choudhary in the lead. The show has been under scrutiny on social media, with viewers questioning the visual execution in several key scenes.

Addressing the backlash, Ekta shared a video on her social media, acknowledging the reactions in her usual candid tone. She said, “I am getting so much hate for my A.I. episodes.” Her response appeared to balance humour with an admission of the ongoing criticism.

In the same clip, she turned the camera towards her team and joked about the creative demands behind the scenes. “Ye hain woh log! Ye! AI ke bhooke! I am innocent! These 3! Har scene mein aeroplane, ye woh… Nahi main hoon! Main. Mujhe chahiye dragon, plane, with no budget,” she said, before adding, “No, It's me actually. I wanted it all.”

The remarks come at a time when the show has been receiving consistent feedback online. Many viewers have pointed out the frequent use of AI driven visuals, particularly in sequences involving transformations and fantasy elements, which have been central to the franchise’s storytelling.

Some users expressed disappointment over how certain scenes were executed. One comment read, “AI slop ruined the faceoff between dragon & naagin and then she went into the water for few seconds I mean what the hell was that.” Another user wrote, “Well done Ekta on Naagin7 maintaining TRPs. Just a suggestion, the show will be more enjoyable & tolerable visually if you limit the snake and snake transformation to VFX. Please do not use AI for anything related to Naagin. It just does not look good at all.”

A section of long time viewers also urged the makers to return to earlier formats. One fan noted, “Dear EktaaRKapoor mam being a Naagin fan since very long, I would like to request you please stop misusing AI, Keep it natural.” Another comment added, “Naagin has genuinely lost its charm. why are literally all of the scenes ai?? waited 3 years for this bs? couldnt even put effort into Naagin7. (sic)”
