I like how curious you are. 😊 Since no one has replied to you, I'll try to give you a condensed summary.

Muslims fast for an entire month. Depending on when chaand miyan decides to grace us all, Ramadan are 29-30 days long. This month is especially holy because this is when the Quran, the holy book of Islam, was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Even though Muslims should technically be doing all the good deeds everyday and staying away from sins, we, as humans, do go astray. So, this is the month of redemption, of forgivenss, of charity, of generosity, and most of all, this is the month of Allah.

Fasting starts in the morning, some half an hour before sunrise and it ends with sunset (for the people in U.S., that means a 16 hour long fast each day). Unlike some fasts in Christianity where people just give up selected items, Muslims can't eat or drink anything at all. It is absolutely necessary to pray five times a day, but since the month is so holy, people also read Quran extensively. After breaking the fast, there is another prayer that is specific to Ramadan called the Taraweeh. There are five nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan that are the holiest nights of the year. One of those five nights was the night when Quran was revealed. All Muslims are advised to stay up on all of the five nights and pray. We don't know which night it was, so we stay up for all five. Better safe than sorry.

I think I went into more detail than what you wanted.
