The story starts from kingdom of videha. It was a bright sunny day in videha , whole kingdom was decorated like a bride. It was videha's princess's birthday and whole town was decorated like a bride, celebrations were on full swing and a maha yagya has been organized to celebrate the auspicious day. It was grand occasion for videha so everyone was invited even the kings and queens of other kingdoms were invited.
"THEY MET-THEY PARTED"
Palace
Everyone was busy in their work, vikrant was ensuring that all the preparations for the yagya are complete. On the other hand king vikramaditya and queen padmavati were discussing about their daughter and her future
Vikramaditya: maharani, it's our daughters 5th birthday, I still remember the day when she came in our life and filled our life with happiness..
Padmavati: yes swami, when I first took her in my arms, I felt like she completed my world, her smile was giving me a soothing feeling'.
Vikramaditya: but where is our princess??
Padmavati: you know your daughter very well, she is very naughty, she must be busy playing with her friends'
Kusum van
A little girl shown in the garden playing with her friends and catching butterflies'
Vikramaditya and padmavati came there and becomes happy watching their daughter playing cheerfully'.
Padmavati: I can do anything to see that smile on her face'
Vikramaditya: Me too.
Padmavati: Soon she'll grow up and then we have a suitable groom for her.
Vikramaditya: But my dear she is too young. We have enough time to think about her marriage and for the groom I think I know someone who is capable of being our daughter's husband.
Padmavati:what?? You have already chosen a groom for our daughter and you didn't even tell me. Tell me who is he??
Vikramaditya(with a mischievous smile): I think you know him..
Padmavati(with excitement):Are you talking about him?? tell me swami'
Vikramaditya: yes my dear who else it could be'.none other than'.(he stopped)
vikrant comes'
Vikrant:Maharaj, guests has started arriving and they are asking for you and maharani.
Vikramaditya: Maharani we should go and welcome our guests. We should take our daughter with us, everyone will be so eager to meet her.
Padmavati:yes swami, she called her..
"SHAMBHAVI"
Shambhavi with a cute smile..
Shambhavi: yes maa
Padmavati: come dear we have to go now, it's your birthday and everyone is waiting to meet you.
Shmbhavi (with a smile): ok maa..
Palace
King and queen were welcoming their guests and everyone was giving their blessings to shambhavi, but vikramaditya eyes were searching for someone..
Padmavati: Swami, I know whom are you searching for; they'll be here any moment.
Vikramaditya: you are right padmavati, I shouldn't be so impatient..
Padmavati smiles
A sainik comes
Sainik: maharaj, pandit ji is calling you and maharani for the yagya..
Vikramaditya(with a bit sad tone): Tell him we are coming..
Sainik: ok maharaj(he left)
Vikramaditya was disappointed that his friend has not reached yet and he has to start yagya without him. As soon as everyone was leaving for yagya, a voice came
"You seriously think you could start yagya without me"
Vikramaditya turned and saw his friend and his family standing there with smile on their faces. Vikramaditya becomes overwhelmed watching his friend. He goes and hug him.His friend was none other than King of mahisha "Vajramitra" with his wife Kanika and their son.
Both the queens hugged each other
Vikramaditya: where were you? You know how much you kept us waiting.
Vajramitra: Sorry to keep you all waiting, but now we are here so let's start the yagya but first I would like to meet our princess.
Vikramaditya: Sure, why not.
He called shambhavi..
Vajramitra: hmm so here is princess shambhavi and you are looking as usual very pretty and beautiful.
Shambhavi blushes..
A little boy was standing with queen kanika and was looking at shambhavi..
Vikramaditya: And this little boy must be prince rudra.
Rudra smiles. Now both rudra and shambhavi were looking at each other and smiling, both were stealing glances..
Vikramaditya: Now we should proceed to yagya..
Vajramitra: ok
Vikramaditya and padmavati along with shambhavi were doing yagya . After the yagya was completed vikramaditya distributed gold coins and sweets to the people of videha. After having food vikramaditya and vajramitra were roaming in kusum van along with their wives and children
Padmavati:shambhavi, why don't you go and play with rudra.
Shambhavi looked at rudra as if she don't want to go but still said ok maa. Rudra and shambhavi goes on the other side of the van to play..
Rudra: So, what should we play??
Shamabhavi was giving rudra stern looks..
Rudra: what happen?
Shamabhavi: I only play with my friends.
Rudra : Then what is the reason to come here with me, you should have said no to your mother when she asked you to play with me.
Shambhavi: I can't say no to my mother..
Rudra: You said you only play with your friends then let's be friends.
Shambhavi:Friendship with you??
Rudra: why not??
Shambhavi: Today is my birthday and my all friends have given me some gift, if you want to be my friend then you also have to give me some gift.
Rudra: But I don't have any gift for you.
Shambhavi:Then we can't be friends.
Rudra thought for a while and then an idea came in his mind. He quickly plucked a rose and presented it to shambhavi.
Shambhavi: What is this?
Rudra: It's a rose.
Shambhavi: I know it's a rose but why are you giving it to me?
Rudra: it's a birthday gift from me.
Shamabhavi (amused): A rose as a birthday gift.
Rudra: I am sure none of your friends have given you this gift.
Shambhavi smiles, she was impressed with rudra. She happily takes the flower.
Rudra: Now can we become friends?
Shambhavi:Of course, now we are friends.
Both rudra and shambhavi looked at each other with a smile.
Both the king and queens came there and becomes happy watching their kids playing happily.
Padmavati: It seems like you two become good friends, Isn't it.
Both rudra and shambhavi smiles hearing this.
A sainik of mahisha came and informs vajramitra that he is unable to find the gifts he brought for princess shambhavi.
Vajramitra: you all are so irresponsible. Go now I'll come and see where the gifts are.
Kanika: you stay Swami I'll go and brought the gifts. I know where the gifts were kept.
Vajramitra: if you insist then go
Padmavati: I'll come with you maharani.
Kanika: ok
Kanika goes..
Vikramaditya: vajramitra let's go inside the palace.
Vaikramaditya, vajramitra, rudra and shambhavi goes inside the palace.
After sometime padmavati comes alone.
Vikramaditya: you came alone, where is queen kanika?.
Padmavati: I don't know swami, when we were going a sainik came and informs me that some ladies want to meet me urgently so I went to meet them and queen kanika went to bring gifts. After that I didn't see her, I thought she'll be here.
Vikramaditya: padmavati, you shouldn't have left her alone.
Padmavati: I am sorry swami.
Vajramitra:Don't worry vikramaditya she'll be here. She must be busy finding gifts.
Everyone was waiting for queen kanika but there was no sign of her and it was getting dark.Rudra was also getting worried for her mother but padmavati consoles her.
Vikrant comes and say he'll go and look for queen kanika. Vikramaditya nods his head in yes.
Vikramaditya(To his sainik): go and search for maharani kanika
Vajramitra was a bit tensed and vikramaditya was consoling him.
After a while..
Sainik: maharaj we have searched everywhere but we didn't find queen kanika.
Vikramaditya (In anger): what do you mean you didn't find her. Go and find her again.
Vajramitra was getting restless
Vajramitra:I myself go and search for her.
As soon as was about to go and search for kanika, he saw kanika coming. Everyone was so relieved seeing her. But kanika was looking very different her face was pale and sweaty. She was walking slowly towards vajramitra. Everyone along with vajramitra was confused seeing her condition.
Vajramitra: kanika where were you? We have been looking for you..
Kanika was about to say something but fell on the ground. Everyone was stunned seeing that she was stabbed. Vajramitra immediately rushed towards her. He puts her head on his lap. Everyone was horrified seeing queen kanika in this condition.vikrant also came there and was dumbstruck seeing queen kanika like this
Vikramaditya (shouts): someone call rajvaidya.
Vajramitra(with terrified tone): kanika what happened to you? How did this happen.
Kanika was trying to say something but she was in immense pain.
Vajramitra: I won't let you happen anything. You'll be fine. Vaidya ji will be here any moment
Rudra was crying watching his mother in this state.
Vajramitra(Crying): Tell me kanika who did this to you? i swear to you I will kill him.
Kanika was trying her best to speak but was unable to speak anything. Finally she raised her finger and pointed towards someone.She pointed her finger towards vikramaditya. Everyone was stunned and shocked specially vajramitra and padmavati. She was trying to say something pointing towards vikramaditya. Vajramitra was watching all this in disbelief. Before she could say anything she died. Vajramitra couldn't say anything for a momenthe was in the state of shock. His heart doesn't want to believe that his wife is no more.
Vajramitra(Cried out loud): 'kanika"no you can't leave me. Plz come back to me.
Rudra was crying badly and so padmavati and shambhavi.vikramaditya was just standing like a statue.
Vajramitra(crying): plz come back to me kanika, I need you, your son needs you.
Soon vajramitra pain turned into rage and fury.He holds vikramaditya's neck and said.
Vajramitra: why did you do this to me?, why did you killed her.?
Vikramaditya(shocked): what are you saying vajramitra I didn't killed queen kanika.
Vajramitra:but she pointed towards you. She was dying why would she lie?
Vikramaditya was about to say something but vajramitra stopped him
Vajramitra: Don't say a word. You killed my wife, my son's mother.
Padmavati wanted to make vajramitra understand but he stopped her too.
Vajramitra: I have done the biggest mistake of my life by trusting you. You betrayed my trust.
Vikramaditya:please vajramitra I am telling you the truth I didn't killed kanika. I was with you all the time how can I do it. I can't even think about betraying my friend.
Vajramitra: Friend? you are not my friend. From today I broke all my relations with you. Till now you have seen my friendship but now you'll see my enemity
Vikramaditya and padmavati left stunned and heart broken.
Vajramitra: let's go rudra .
Vajramitra carried kanika's body and left the palace. When they were leaving rudra and shambhavi saw each other last time with teary eyes.
Rudra and shambhavi were heartbroken thinking that they'll never be able to meet again..
