they climbed the stairs to reach the temple.Temple was decorated with flowers.Maan and Geet got surprised to see the decorated templw at this hour. They went ahead and saw that some special activity was going on. they crossed all and stood in front of the God.
both joined their hands and closed their eyes.
Geet-(In her heart) Bhagwaan ji main nahin jaanti aaj jo kuchh bhi hua wo galat hai ya sahi.mujhe nahin pata ki maine sab kuchh jaante hue bhi Maan ke saamne apne pyaar ko sweekaar kar liya.mujhe ye bhi pata hai ki maan ko iss sabse aur jyada takleef hi milegi.kyunki ek doosre se pyar karte hue bhi hum ek doosre ke liye nahin bane hain.ek taraf maan ki khushi hai to doosri taraf do parivaar khade hain. Main kise apnaaoon nahin pata.haar dono taraf meri hi hai. apni aur maan ki khushi chunti hoon to un sab logon ki nazron me mujrim ban jaoongi aur un logon ki khushi chunti hoon to Maan ko kho doongi. main jaanti hoon aaj ka ye din maan ke saath bitaaya hua mera aakhiri din hai.Sameera ko to aap jaante hi hain na.wo kabhi meri aur Maan ki dosti accept nahin karegi.bas aapse ek hi request hai ki kuchh bhi ho aap maan ko khush rakhna kyunki mujhe to akele rahne ki aur apna dard chupa kar jeene ki aaadat hai.Bas Sameera ko thodi si samajh de dena taki wo Maan ki achchhaiyon ko dekh sake aur usse khushiyaan de sake.Agar aisa hua to mujhe pata hai samay ke saath dheere dheere maan mere pyaar ko bhool jaayega.
Maan-(In his heart) mujhe pata hai ki is waqt Geet meri khushiyaan aapse Maan rahi hai. aur aap jante hain ki meri khushi kisme hai. Kya khushiyon par geet ka haq nahin hai? Kya uske nasib me sirf musibatein hi hai. Aapko nahin lagta ki jin khushiyon ko baki sab mahsoos karte hain un khushion par uska un sabse jyada haq hai.To agar aaj aap geet ki wish accept karte hai to saath me meri wish bhi aapko puri karni padegi.Meri khushi sirf aur sirf Geet ke saath hi hai.usko achchhi tarah maaloom hai ki doosron ke saamne khush rahane ki acting kaise karte hain.par aapse to kuchh bhi nahin chuppa hai.
Maan looked at geet after praying to God .her eyes were still closed and tears were flowing down from those closed eyes.Maan hold her on her shoulders Geet opened her eyes and smiled to see him. She wiped her eyes.Rain was again falling heavily so they decided to wait for rain to stop.
Puja area of temple was closed by a two feet high cement boundry which could be used to sit.Priest came there to perform some Puja. When he finished with that he saw maan and Geet.geet could not hide her curiocity to ask him
Geet-Pandit ji Is there some festival today. Temple is beautifully decorated.
Priest-nahin beti.Aaj bada hi shubh muhurt hai.aaj ke din wo sab log shadi kar sakte hain jinke vivah me koi badha ho.jaise kisi ki kundli na mil rahi ho.Ya phir kisi ki shadi ka muhurt na naikal raha ho .ya kisi ki kundli me koi dosh ho.Aaj 2 baje se lekar 4 baje tak ka muhurt sabhi ke liye shubh hai.bas shadi mandir me hi honi chahiye. main abhi is pavitra sindoor ko ishwar ke charnon me rakh raha tha taki sabhi jodion ko unka aashirwaad iss sindoor ke roop mein mil jaaye. kya tum log bhi shadi karna chahte ho?
Maan-ji kya hum ..but geet stopped him by showing her big eyes.Maan pouted at this.
Geet-nahin nahin hum to yahaan aise hi aa gaye the. baarish bahut tej ho rahi thi aur bike me petrol bhi khatm ho gaya tha to hum madad ke liye yahaan aa gaye the. Kya hum yahaan barish band hone tak ruk sakte hain.
Priest-Ye to ishwar ka ghar hai. yahaan jab tak chaho ruk sakte ho. beta tum log yahaan baith jaao.he signaled them to sit on the boundry.
they set there to watch the rituals.after some times all couples took their places around the various havan kunds.
Rituals started with the holy mantras.all started to follow the priest. maan and Geet were watching them with so interest.the time was for the holy rounds all took rounds with promising to each other.Holy rounds were completed.Now was the time for sindoor ritual.Priest looked here and there and he called maan-beta meri madad kar do.bhagwaan ke charno me sindoor rakha hai usko lakar de do.Maan went and did the same.Priest ask him to put a pinch of holy sindoor in every box of vermillion kept near every couple.It was special sindoor which was made sacred by doing various rituals. Maan did the same as priest said.after the work done, maan again set beside Geet .Geet kept her head on Maan 's shoulder being a little emotional.the rain was still pouring and air was too flowing sweetly making every thing to move.Geet's hair were dry now and they were flying to disturb maan's view.Some times they were blocking his eyes and some time they were tickling his nose.he had to comb them with his fingers to keep them at place without looking at her as he was busy in watching those rituals and put his cheek on her head to stop them from disturbing him.they were lost in the rituals.At last all the grooms tied the mangalsutras around the nacks of their wives and the rituals were completed.Priest declared them husbands and wives.All took the blessings from priest and Their elders.All started to go back to their homes.Rain was still pouring but was little slow.
Priest came near them to give some sweets as prasaad. he looked at both and said-beta ye tumne kya kiya?
Maan-Ji ye aap kya kah rahe hain.main to wahi kiya tha jo aapne kaha.sirf un logon ke sindoor box me sindoor hi to dala tha bas.
Priest- main uski baat nahin kar raha hoon main to iske baare me baat kar raha hoon.
He pointed at Geet. Maan too looked at Geet and his eyes grew wider and wider to see whatever was in front of him.he could not believe his eyes.
Geet was watching Priest and maan with a lot of confusion.Maan looked at her.then he looked at his hands which were red with the vermilion which he put in the boxes.his hands were wet that time due to the rain so the vermilion was still sticking in his nails and fingers.when the ritual of putting sindoor in the maang of brides was being performed by the grooms, Maan tooo settled Geet hair by combing them with his fingers and he unknowingly filled her maang with that sindoor.
