"Because this way you'll think twice before cutting yourself, because then you'll have to cut me too." I said and looked into her eyes.

"You're asking too much from me, Asad." She said softly and looked down.

"I'm just trying to heal you." I said.

Zoya

I looked at him, he was still busy in securing the handkerchief around my wrist, a question popped up in my head why was he even trying to help me? He was a total stranger after all! And the last time when a total stranger had tried to help me, well the odds didn't turn out to be in my favor.

After making sure that the handkerchief was properly tied around my wrist he got up and brushed his pants and then held out his hand for me to take. I took his hand and he pulled me up and I almost rammed into his rock hard chest.

"Do you want me to leave you to your dorm?" He asked me, at that moment I noticed how very tall he was over 6 feet easily and he had to bend just to remain at my eye level.

"I don't think that will be a good idea, Asad. Its already very late I don't think you should leave me to my dorm, I'll manage it on my own." I said and tried to smile.

"Well, then good night Zoya." He said and smiled at me.

"Good night, Asad." Till the time I had finally formed the reply he was already gone. I bent down and picked up my pocket knife and threw it in the nearby dustbin. No need to keep it if it was going to harm someone else other than me.

I made my way to my dorm and quietly unlocked the door, to my relief Humeira was sound asleep. I quickly went to the washroom and took a quick shower and cleaned up my wound. I looked at myself in the mirror, I was looking like a total mess...just because he had called me he said my name in his filthy voice, I had cut myself? Am I that weak?

~*OoO*~

Flashback

"Zoe..! Your phone has been ringing non-stop! Why don't you pick it up already huh? Its irritating me to no end!" Humeira said and tossed my phone to me. I quickly checked the caller id, it was an unknown number.

"Hello? Who's this?" I asked.

"Zo, just because you left me and now you're living with some rich people and going to a good school, you'll forget me?" A mocking voice said from the other end. My blood ran cold, it was him.

"How did you get my number?" I said.

"Number! Bah! No big deal, sweetcheeks! I even know which school you go to and what is your room number." He said.

"Why are you still doing this? Didn't you had enough last summer?" I said my vision was blurred and the tears threatened to spill over.

"Last summer was just the beginning, Zo I'm not done with you yet! You're too precious and too beautiful to loose already." He said and laughed.

"Buzz off, and don't you dare try to call me again." I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"No calling? Ohh! OK! No problem sweetcheeks! I'll meet you then its been long since I've seen your beautiful face." With that he cut the call, I hurriedly wiped my tears before Humeira could see me and almost ran to the washroom.

Asad

I turned around but Zoya had already gone, and I was damn sure she'd also wished me good night, or had she? Why did it even mattered? I mean I'm just trying to help her to deal with the situations in her life no big deal! She should not be having such an effect on me!

I reached my room and decided to take a quick shower, as I was taking off my shirt I saw a small blood drop on the sleeve of my shirt. Zoya's. I took off my shirt and threw it in the laundry basket and stepped in the shower.

The hot water calmed my knotted muscles and I relaxed and closed my eyes the water calmed me down. I quickly changed and lay down on my bed and took out my journal, I had not written a single entry in months. I'd promised to myself that until and unless Najma won't come back I will not write anything in my journal.

I tossed and turned but could not sleep, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 2 in the morning and I had got just 5 more hours of sleep. I tried to sleep but every time I closed my eyes all I could see was Najma's face when she was leaving.

Flashback

"Asad, we need to talk." Ammi walked into my room and sat beside me on my bed.

"Yes, Ammi?" I asked her and put my comic down.

"Asad, you know Najma is not well and the doctor has advised her to remain stress free so that she can recover. And this city life wouldn't do her any good." Ammi said, my heart started beating faster.

"What are you trying to tell me Ammi?" I asked her, now panicked.

"Asad, please try and understand its for her betterment! She will recover soon and come back to us." She said.

"Wait..are you sending her away, Ammi?" I asked her.

"Asad we are sending her to live with your dadi in Dehradun, she'll enjoy there and will also have a nice time." She said and tried to reason with me.

"No! Never! I won't let you take her away!" I said and got up from my bed and ran to her room, her room seemed like as if she'd never lived there.

I ran downstairs and saw that Najma was standing near the door her luggage in Abbu's hands and she was crying, she was crying for me.

I hugged her from behind, and she sobbed into my chest, Abbu took her hand and tried to pry her hands off my kurta but she did not leave and I encircled my arms around her waist.

"Abbu, please don't take her she'll be fine here and I promise I'll take care of her, please just don't take her away from me, please Abbu!" I said but no one listened to me and Abbu took Najma's hand and lead her away.

"Bhai jaan!" She wailed.

End of Flashback

I got up when I heard my alarm going off, I wiped the sweat off from my forehead and leaned my head at the bed post. Someone knocked at my door, I quickly washed my face and opened the door, it was Ayaan.

"Asad! I hope you remember that today is the summer dance! And you've got to get ready!" Ayaan said.

"Ayaan! The dance starts from 1 and its just 8 in the morning and I don't take much time in getting ready." I said and Ayaan sat down on the couch and helped himself to some snacks.

"And I hope you remember you volunteered to help with the decorations of the gym and also signed up my name for it." Ayaan said sarcastically.

"Ohh! Yes! How could I forget? Darn! Just give me 15 minutes Ayaan and then we'll go." I said and quickly took a shower and change into my school uniform and after that we left for the gym.

Zoya

"Humeira?! Is that what you call a dress? It barely covers my ass!" I said and looked at myself in the mirror I was trying on a hot pink halter neck dress or rather a shirt.

"Zoe, you look like a total babe! you should wear that dress, and these shoes and yes I checked out this totally new hairstyle that would look awesome on you!" She said and clapped her hands and grabbed a magazine.

"Hold on, Humeira! I'm not your life size barbie! You've got 2 options either the dress or the makeup or the shoes or the hairstyle. Choose." I said and she gaped at me, she opened her mouth to speak and then closed it and then she finally spoke.

"Dress and makeup!" She said and giggled and I rolled my eyes heavenwards, what had I got myself into?

"Humeira this must be like the 8th dress I'm trying please just pick any and I'll wear that I'm tired." I said and crashed on the bed.

"Hmm let me think, yellow? Nah won't go with the blue streak! Green? Nah will make you look sick. Black! Yeah you'll rock black!" She said and handed me a black dress and surprisingly it was a very simple dress and also covered my butt. It was a plain black dress with a thin golden belt.

I quickly wore my black converse and Humeira scrunched up her nose in disapproval but she had no choice! And then she made me sit and attacked my face with all sorts of makeup items.

After what felt like hours her hands finally left my face, and thankfully she had not actually made me into a life size barbie, there was just enough makeup to highlight my features, I quickly made a ponytail and tadah! I was ready.

I would've loved to go with my chipped black nail paint, but Humeira being my stylist for the day made me remove it and gave me a manicure. After that when Humeira was busy getting ready I applied some concealer on my cut and wore my bracelet, the only piece of my Ammi left behind with me.

I fingered the simple silver link bracelet and held its charm, a small heart tightly between my fingers, as memories of last night, of him came rushing back.

"Zoe! How do I look?" Humeira asked me and twirled around in her pink dress.

"You look absolutely gorgeous Humeira! A total knockout! Ayaan won't be able to keep his hands to himself." I said and winked and she blushed and looked down and grabbed my hand and led me out of our room.

Asad

"Thank you Asad and Ayaan for helping me out with the decorations! No one had come up willingly!" Mrs. Singh said and patted our shoulders and went away.

"Asad, man its already 12 we've got just a single hour to get ready!" Ayaan said and looked panicked.

"Ayaan, look I don't take hours to get ready I don't know about you though." I said and he mock punched my shoulder and went off, I went to my room and quickly changed into a pair of stone washed jeans and a simple white button up shirt.

As I was leaving my room I suddenly remembered I did not know who my date was! How was I going to pick her up? At that moment my mobile started ringing, I picked it up and saw that the caller id was an unknown number.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Bhai jaan?" Said Najma from the other end.
